Eli Manning bails on pursuit of minority Giants ownership stake
Manning has given up his pursuit to own a small piece of the Giants — the only NFL team he played for in his 16-year career — with the two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback saying he cannot afford the price tag for a minority stake in the team.
'Basically, it's too expensive for me,' Manning said Wednesday on CNBC Sport. 'A one percent stake valued at $10 billion turns into a very big number.'

The Giants were valued at $7.85 billion, ranking fourth among the NFL's 32 teams, according to CNBC's official NFL team valuations.
Last year, NFL owners voted to allow private equity firms to purchase up to a 10 percent stake in a team.
Back in February, Giants co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch hired Moelis & Company to explore a potential sale of a minority, non-controlling stake of the team.
Manning and Hall of Famer Michael Strahan, who spent his entire 15-year NFL career with the Giants, expressed interest in buying into their former team.
There were other factors at play for Manning to take himself out of the running. He remains close to the game via his co-host role with older brother Peyton on ESPN's ManningCast on 'Monday Night Football' and that could have been seen as a conflict of interest if Manning owned a minority share of the Giants.
'I wouldn't be able to talk to players that I coached in the Pro Bowl,'' Manning said. 'It was going to affect my day job.''

Manning said he has no interest in purchasing a stake in another NFL team and that he believes the Giants are worthy of a $10 billion valuation.
Manning made more than $250 million from the Giants in his playing career. He earns lucrative paychecks in endorsements, owns a production company called Ten Till Productions and is a partner in the private equity firm Brand Velocity Group. Manning also remains employed by the Giants in a team ambassador role. He is a minority owner of Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League and TGL's New York golf team.
Strahan teamed with billionaire Marc Lasry to make a bid for a minority stake in the Giants, Sportico reported, and, according to CNBC, investor Julia Koch also submitted a bid.

Adam Rank projects Steelers to finish far below .500 in viral 2025 schedule prediction
The infamous Adam Rank has struck again — predicting an abysmal record for the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2025 season. Rank, known for his outlandish schedule predictions, completed his 2025 game-by-game projection — and the Steelers were estimated to finish 6–11. Here's how Rank predicted each Steelers game would go: The outspoken NFL Network analyst argued that four contests, in particular, would decide the Steelers' chances of finishing above .500: Week 10 at the Los Angeles Chargers, Week 11 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals, Week 13 vs. the Buffalo Bills, and Week 14 at the Baltimore Ravens. He predicted Pittsburgh to lose all four games. One might assume that after the Steelers completed one of the most productive and eventful offseasons in franchise history, respect for their 2025 postseason aspirations would follow. But they would be wrong. Pittsburgh once again has the opportunity to prove the doubters wrong in 2025 — as a playoff win, and potentially a Super Bowl title, hang in the balance of a loaded Steelers roster For up-to-date Steelers coverage, follow us on X @TheSteelersWire and give our Facebook page a like.

Buccaneers All-Pro superstar expected to miss start of season after surgery
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are starting off the new season on a bad foot. ESPN reported Wednesday morning that offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs is expected to miss the start of the season due to a knee injury. Advertisement According to sources, Wirfs had been wearing a knee brace through the Bucs' offseason program. After going through several setbacks, he decided to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday. Reportedly Wirfs will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list, which will rule him out for a minimum of four games to start the year. Tampa Bay is full of talented players: Mike Evans, Lavonte David, Bucky Irving, and many more. But Wirfs has a case as the most underrated and integral piece of the team. After being drafted in 2020, the offensive tackle became an instant starter, a Super Bowl champion, and has only missed four games for Tampa Bay his entire career. Advertisement Wirfs started as a right tackle but was moved to left tackle in 2023 to protect Baker Mayfield's blind side. He became the first player in NFL history to be named an All-Pro as a left and a right tackle. Now Mayfield will enter the 2025 season without arguably his most important teammate. Yes, Evans will be catching passes and Irving will run through gaps, but the Bucs' offense will suffer dearly without Wirfs. The only hope is that he returns sooner, rather than later. Vikings' Dallas Turner Facing Harsh Feedback After Being Victim to $240K Scam
Vikings' Dallas Turner Facing Harsh Feedback After Being Victim to $240K Scam originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After a quiet rookie season, Minnesota Vikings first-rounder Dallas Turner has made a name for himself in all the wrong ways before a hopeful breakout second season. Advertisement Turner made headlines on Tuesday, July 9, when the Minnesota Star Tribune broke news that the 22-year-old was a victim of a $240,000 banking fraud scheme. Turner provided a fraudster, impersonating a JP Morgan Chase banker, with a pair of $120,000 wire transfers after the fraudster told Turner someone had tried to impersonate him at a branch in Arizona. The news spread like wildfire on social media, leading to many fans who had not heard much of the 2024 No. 17 overall pick so far in his career to associate him only with being a victim of fraud and not his prospects on the field. Minnesota Vikings linebacker Dallas Turner (15) warms up during practice at Vikings training camp in Eagan, Becker-Imagn Images "Oh a rookie move," one fan wrote in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that garnered over 300,000 views and hundreds of comments. Advertisement "I thought this only happened to old dudes," a second fan said. While it was an honest mistake by Turner, it has called into question his learning capabilities, considering the Vikings offer three trainings on fraud prevention annually, according to the Star Tribune. "We drafted him for his play not his brains man (holy [expletive] Dallas we gotta be better man)," one fan added. While police have identified several suspects and are pursuing charges, the best step forward for Turner is to make everyone forget about the incident by putting his best foot forward on the field. Behind Pro Bowl duo Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard, Turner figures to play a rotational role this season as the No. 3 outside linebacker on the depth chart.
