Kaizer Chiefs update: Experienced Nigerian striker
According to several reports that came out in June, the 24-year-old, who was on loan at Usuthu from Mamelodi Sundowns, joined Amakhosi after his contract with Kabo Yellow ended on 30 June.
In the meantime, the latest update claims that Kaizer Chiefs have not, in fact, signed the former Chippa United and SuperSport loanee yet.

Phili strikes late as Stellenbosch edge AmaZulu in extra-time thriller
Langelihle Phili of Stellenbosch celebrate after scoring his extra-time goal against AmaZulu at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday in the MTN8 quarter-finals. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Langelihle Phili came off the bench to haunt his former club and seal Stellenbosch's place in the MTN8 semi-finals with a 3-2 extra-time victory over AmaZulu at the DHL Stadium on Sunday. The 20-year-old winger, a product of the Usuthu academy, emerged as the hero deep into extra-time after the tie had finished 2-2 in regulation. With both sides locked in an intense back-and-forth battle, it was Phili's powerful finish in the 108th minute that proved decisive. AmaZulu, featuring several new faces after a squad overhaul, struck first through debutant Keagan Allen in the 19th minute. The former Moroka Swallows centre-back capitalised on a lapse in concentration from the hosts, staying alert after a set-piece. A clever pass from defensive partner Sandile Mthethwa found Allen unmarked, and he bundled the ball past Sage Stephens to open his account. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ But Stellenbosch responded swiftly. Just seven minutes later, Bafana Bafana winger Devin Titus broke down the right and showed excellent composure to square for Sanele Barns, who tapped in from close range to level matters. The match had all the ingredients of a true MTN8 clash — edge, energy, and end-to-end transitions. Usuthu, under Arthur Zwane, handed starts to two new signings in Allen and Ryan Moon. But their plans were disrupted midway through the first half when goalkeeper Richard Ofori was stretchered off following a collision with Barns. Despite dominating possession, Stellies struggled to find the cutting edge in the opening stanza. Steve Barker's men repeatedly breached the final third but lacked execution to convert their territorial advantage into goals. In the second half, AmaZulu upped their tempo and wrestled more control in midfield. However, that resistance cracked in the 69th minute. Barns, a persistent menace throughout, completed his brace in style. This time, he struck from a free kick, curling the ball beautifully around the wall and past substitute goalkeeper Olwethu Mzimela. Just four minutes later, AmaZulu equalised again — this time through 22-year-old academy graduate Tebogo Mashigo. The young attacker showed great awareness inside the box, latching onto a loose ball before firing a deflected effort that looped over Stephens to make it 2-2. Stellenbosch pushed for a late winner in regulation, but AmaZulu held firm, forcing the game into extra time. With tired legs and both teams showing signs of fatigue, it was always going to take a moment of individual brilliance or composure to separate the sides — and Phili delivered exactly that. The winger, introduced late in the second half, found himself in space and fired a riproaring shot to beat Mzimela and send the home crowd into celebration. Stellenbosch now join Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United in the last four of the MTN8, with the final quarter-final tie set to determine the last semi-finalist. For Usuthu, it's a bitter blow — but signs of promise under Zwane remain. SCORES Stellenbosch FC (1) 3 Barns 26, 69, Phili 108 AmaZulu FC (1) 2 Allen 19, Mashigo 73

Emphatic win over Black Ferns XV confirms Bok Women on track for World Cup
Springbok Women's performance coach Swys de Bruin feels Saturday's emphatic 41-24 victory over the Black Ferns XV was proof that they have got their combinations and spine right, with the Rugby World Cup in England 18 days away as of Monday. The South African women's rugby team overturned the 34-26 defeat from last weekend, outscoring the victors by seven tries to four in a power-packed performance at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. 'I think we are now close to where we wanted to be a few weeks out from the Rugby World Cup,' said De Bruin, after the match. 'The team really played well and executed the tweaks we made very well, and that delivered not only a winning result, but also a boost of confidence to the squad and management. We worked hard to get to this point, and I can honestly say this was one of the best performances we had since I joined the squad just over a year ago.' De Bruin said the players took the responsibility to change last weekend's result upon themselves and made a mental switch for this weekend's game.

When will Springboks name team to face Wallabies?
After a couple of days off, the Springboks regrouped on Sunday to begin preparing for the back-to-back Test matches against the Wallabies in Johannesburg on Saturday 16 August and Cape Town on 23 August to start the Rugby Championship. There will be great excitement and anticipation for the first team announcement considering that it will provide some genuine insight into the thinking of Rassie Erasmus after plenty of experimenting with selection during the July internationals. Especially after seeing the Wallabies' competitive performances against the British & Irish Lions, Erasmus will surely be planning to bring a number of first-choice players and combinations into the mix for the first Test against Australia. It's expected that the first Springbok team of the Rugby Championship will be named on Tuesday, 12 August, with the exact time still to be confirmed. A recent training camp featured a series of gym and field training sessions, as well as boardroom sessions, and Erasmus said they will delve deeper into the opposition from this week. 'We have laid a good foundation, and next week we will zone more into what we expect from Australia and start developing plans to counter what we expect from them,' he said. 'They showed against the British & Irish Lions what they are capable of, so we need to be ready mentally and physically for what they will throw at us in South Africa.' The matches against Australia will be followed by successive Tests against the All Blacks in Auckland and Wellington (on 6 and 13 September) and Los Pumas in Durban and London (on 27 September and 4 October). 'We had an intense week of conditioning to get the players ready for what will undoubtedly be a challenging Rugby Championship campaign against some of the top teams in the world,' Erasmus added. 'So we are pleased with the strides made and the mind-shift the players made for what will be a completely different contest against Australia, New Zealand, and Argentina. 'We identified a few key areas of our game that we felt we needed to improve on after the Incoming Series, and we incorporated those areas into our training and conditioning blocks this week. 'The teams we will face in the next few months will ask different questions and pose different challenges, so it was important for the group to align on what to expect in the next few weeks, so this camp was vital in ensuring that we prepare adequately for what lies ahead.'
