Disney+ series with a blockbuster budget is ripped apart by merciless critics who brand it 'bland, soulless and disappointing'- but viewers are having none of it

A blockbuster new Disney+ series branded 'bland, soulless and disappointing' has been ripped apart by critics, but viewers are having none of it.
Ironheart has just hit the streaming platform and moves on from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with three episode released on Wednesday and three more one June 2 for UK watchers.
The six-part sci-fi series, which cost a reported $150million dollars to develop, follows genius inventor Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, as she returns home to Chicago.
She joins forces with mysterious criminal Parker Robbins, played by Anthony Ramos, while working towards building impressive iron suits.
Ironheart has a respectable 74% score on Rotten Tomatoes but hasn't been well received by some critics.
Taking to X, a viewer with the handle @HopeSloop wrote: '#Ironheart is really fun at times but feels (in my humble opinion) like it's desperately in need of a soul.
'The magic vs. machine theme is conceptually intriguing but feels like it's lacking here. I'm ambivalent because I didn't hate any part but I didn't love anything either.'
While The Hollywood Handle argued: '#Ironheart have some fun moments but it's never interesting enough nor it manages to stick the landing.
'Bland characters and a super uninteresting plot that doesn't knows where it wants to go. A disappointment overall.'
While Mark Cassidy revealed he had 'seen all six episodes' and wasn't very impressed.
He said: 'I've seen all six episodes of #Ironheart, and it's not good. It becomes obvious very quickly why Marvel decided to dump this on D+ 3 eps at a time. Can't fault the cast, but none of them are given much to work with.'
The Guardian rated Ironheart an average three out of five stars and praised Dominique Thorne's performance as 'stunningly charismatic' but said it was 'slightly tiresome'.
