Actor calls out Madonna for using iPad during Broadway musical 'Hamilton'

In 2013, Madonna was caught furiously texting during the New York Film Festival premiere of '12 Years A Slave'. Photo: TNS Former Hamilton star Anthony Ramos is calling out Madonna for being on her iPad the entire time she was in the audience of the Tony-winning Broadway hit. While appearing on Watch What Happens Live this week, the Brooklynite, 33, exposed the Queen of Pop's lack of etiquette after Andy Cohen asked him to identify 'the most terrifying celebrity' he'd seen in the crowd during his run in Hamilton . 'The most terrifying was Madonna with an iPad in her face … the whole time,' recalled Ramos, who originated the roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. 'I was like, damn, shorty, if you're not enjoying it that much, you know the door's right there. You ain't gotta stay here.' In 2015, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda — who also originated the role of the titular Founding Father — wrote in a since-deleted tweet that 'tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage,' according to A source told the outlet at the time that Madge not only arrived late to the show, but used her phone multiple times during both acts. The Hamilton incident came about a year-and-a-half after Madonna was caught furiously texting during the New York Film Festival premiere of 12 Years A Slave in 2013. In the wake of that incident, the Alamo Drafthouse cinema chain said she was banned from their theatres until she issued an apology to moviegoers. However, Madonna might have mended her ways in the intervening years, having famously enacted a cellphone ban during her 2019 Madame X Tour. 'People loved it and appreciated it,' a promoter told London paper The Times . 'They could just enjoy the show and interact with each other with nothing obstructing the view.' A tour insider at the time also said Madonna was hoping to engender some 'intimacy' by playing smaller venues for screen-free crowds. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

Disney+ Shifts Strategy With Ironheart 3-Episode Launch

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 23: (L-R) Lyric Ross, Sev Ohanian, Anthony Ramos, Angela Barnes, ... More Dominique Thorne, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Brad Winderbaum, Executive, Television, Streaming, Animation, Marvel Feature Film Production, Zoie Nagelhout, Zinzi Coogler, Kelsey Lew, Creative Executive, Marvel and Alden Ehrenreich attend the Ironheart fan event at El Capitan Theatre on June 23, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor Disney) Disney+ recently released it's newest entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Ironheart on Disney+. What makes this debut so different is the risk that Disney+ took by not releasing one episode onto the platform but three, and it released them all at once. This is a move that breaks away from Disney's expected weekly release pattern, creating a sort of a hybrid between it's own model and Netlflix's well know binge model, which allows viewers to watch an entire season the moment it releases. With only 3 episodes being available, the next 3 episodes are set to release on July 1, 2025, exactly one week after the first set of episodes were released. This decision reflects the stakes and trust Disney has placed in Ironheart and their willingness to evolve, or at least test out something new, in the streaming world of 2025. A Break from Tradition HOLLYWOOD, CA - JANUARY 13: General view of a billboard above the El Capitan Entertainment Centre ... More promoting the upcoming season of the Disney+ Marvel Studios flagship show 'WandaVision' on January 13, 2021 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by AaronP/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images) With shows like WandaVision, Agatha All Along, Loki, and Ms. Marvel, Disney+ released episodes for each on a weekly basis, with the anticipation from cliffhangers often keeping fans speculating, talking, and excited for more. Not only did this maximize the discussions on social media, through hashtags, message boards, communities, and more, it also made sure that Disney was able maximize the profit of their subscription model, with the weekly episodes keeping most subscribers for an extended period compared to them watching everything in a single day. The show follows Riri Williams, an MIT student and scientist who made her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and helps fans get to know a character who has only recently been in the spotlight. By changing how subscribers watch their content, Disney+ seems able to explore a fortunate development by allowing fans to engage with Riri's story gradually while still providing the dopamine boost that comes with binge watching shows. Ironheart is not the first Disney+ show to experiment with the binging model, as Echo, which released in January 2024, released all of its episodes at once to a bag of mixed reviews from subscribers. Disney was able to take that feedback and repurpose it with this new model that they're testing with Ironheart, which has three episodes as an appetizer and another three the final week to finish everything off. 'I love the fact that there's a week between these three-episode releases,' one producer told TechRadar, 'If people want to binge watch them, they get to do so and then the wait isn't long for the next batch to drop, so I think it'll make for a good viewing experience." What's Next for Ironheart? If the response to this new release schedule is positive, we might discover a new way to stream our favorite content, especially shows that studio executives might see as risky—shows that don't have the same built-in fanbase as MCU film characters, particularly in Ironheart's case, since Riri debuted as a supporting character. Disney is aware of and is currently working on their streaming model. Whether or not this new model works or receives similar feedback to the full season release that Echo had, we'll have to see how Disney handles its streaming MCU content in the future. One sure way to tell if it succeeds, before any pre-releases are made, is if we see more half-season premieres for future streaming content on Disney+.

How Marvel's IRONHEART Sets the Stage for Doctor Doom's Arrival in AVENGERS

While Ironheart may look like a grounded, tech-driven Marvel series at first glance, the show is doing more than just fleshing out Riri Williams' arc, it's laying some surprisingly important groundwork for one of the most anticipated MCU debuts… Doctor Doom. According to executive producer Ryan Coogler, the Disney+ series subtly tees up key elements that will come into play in Avengers: Doomsday . During the red carpet premiere of Ironheart , Coogler offered some insight into how the show fits into the bigger picture. He explained that the way Ironheart blends advanced technology with the supernatural will feel familiar to longtime Marvel fans, especially those who know Doom's story. 'We didn't know it was going to be Doctor Doom and the Avengers when we first started. But he's a guy in publishing who's most famous for fusing technology and magic, so it's a great sample of things that are to come in probably what's going to be the biggest movie in Marvel history.' The show introduces Anthony Ramos as The Hood, a street-level criminal who stumbles across a cloak that taps into powerful dark magic, something straight out of Doctor Strange's world. It creates a perfect contrast with Riri's ultra-high-tech Ironheart suit, and the tension between those two worlds becomes a central theme. Dominique Thorne, who returns as Riri Williams, added to that sentiment during the same event. She teased her character's struggle with the temptation of magic: 'I think it's a hilarious journey and also a really tempting journey that we see her go on once she realizes the full extent and capability of the magic side of the world.' That internal tug-of-war feels like it's pulled directly from the same thematic toolbox Marvel will be digging into with Doom. It's no coincidence that Doom's hallmark in the comics is that exact combo with cutting-edge science warped together with ancient sorcery. By planting seeds of that duality now through Riri, The Hood, and the ethical questions surrounding technology, Ironheart is setting the stage for a villain who's not just physically formidable, but ideologically dangerous. And while Ironheart is all about Riri stepping into her own, it's also a stealth primer for the tone and themes of Avengers: Doomsday . Coogler pointed out the show's surprising relevance in today's world: 'It's so crazy to be putting this movie out now, at the time where AI is on the front of everybody's mind, technological ethics are on the front of everybody's mind.' That cultural context might just be the perfect backdrop for Doom's arrival. Ironheart premieres today on Disney+, while Avengers: Doomsday is set to shake up the MCU when it hits theaters on December 18, 2026.

Disney+ series with a blockbuster budget is ripped apart by merciless critics who brand it 'bland, soulless and disappointing'- but viewers are having none of it

A blockbuster new Disney+ series branded 'bland, soulless and disappointing' has been ripped apart by critics, but viewers are having none of it. Ironheart has just hit the streaming platform and moves on from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with three episode released on Wednesday and three more one June 2 for UK watchers. The six-part sci-fi series, which cost a reported $150million dollars to develop, follows genius inventor Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, as she returns home to Chicago. She joins forces with mysterious criminal Parker Robbins, played by Anthony Ramos, while working towards building impressive iron suits. Ironheart has a respectable 74% score on Rotten Tomatoes but hasn't been well received by some critics. Taking to X, a viewer with the handle @HopeSloop wrote: '#Ironheart is really fun at times but feels (in my humble opinion) like it's desperately in need of a soul. 'The magic vs. machine theme is conceptually intriguing but feels like it's lacking here. I'm ambivalent because I didn't hate any part but I didn't love anything either.' While The Hollywood Handle argued: '#Ironheart have some fun moments but it's never interesting enough nor it manages to stick the landing. 'Bland characters and a super uninteresting plot that doesn't knows where it wants to go. A disappointment overall.' While Mark Cassidy revealed he had 'seen all six episodes' and wasn't very impressed. He said: 'I've seen all six episodes of #Ironheart, and it's not good. It becomes obvious very quickly why Marvel decided to dump this on D+ 3 eps at a time. Can't fault the cast, but none of them are given much to work with.' The Guardian rated Ironheart an average three out of five stars and praised Dominique Thorne's performance as 'stunningly charismatic' but said it was 'slightly tiresome'. However, despite several disappointing reviews, some fans seem to be enjoying the series and sang its praises online. However, despite several disappointing reviews, some fans seem to be enjoying the series and sang its praises online One penned: 'Ironheart is really good so far if you haven't watched it yet please do.'; 'I wish #Ironheart was 9 episodes, I need more than 6!!!'; 'Hey so #Ironheart was perfect. To only have gotten 3 episodes I feel like I got so much but there's still so much left and I'm super intrigued. The characters, the culture, the visuals… yea this is it.'; 'Whoever is hating on iron heart is missing out on some good s**t rn!! #Ironheart.'

‘Ironheart' Tricky Release Schedule—When Do New Episodes Drop On Disney+?

Ironheart Season 1 on Disney+ Another new Marvel Television series has arrived on Disney+, marking the final release of Phase Five of the MCU. The first three episodes are now streaming, but when will the rest land on the site? This latest superhero series has a unique release schedule that sets it apart from other shows on the platform. Ironheart reintroduces fans to Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) following 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the film, Shuri and Okoye (Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira) tracked down the teen prodigy at MIT after she created a device for detecting Vibranium. She was then put under Wakandan protection and built her own Iron Man suit of armor to help against Namor's attack. In the debut season of Ironheart, Williams is returning to her hometown of Chicago. 'Riri's going back to the heart of it all,' Thorne said in an interview with Den of Geek. 'She's going back home. She's returned to Chicago, and our girl has a lot to reflect on. The events of Wakanda shook her up and expanded her worldview. Now she has to figure out what that all means, to have been at the center of something so insane.' The official synopsis reads, 'Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos) aka 'The Hood.'" For some quick Marvel Comics background, Williams is considered one of the most brilliant minds in the entire Marvel universe. She was ranked seventh in Marvel's official list of the smartest superheroes, just after the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym (No. 6), and before X-Men's Henry "Beast" McCoy (No. 8). If you've already watched the first three episodes, you're likely wondering when the rest of Ironheart will hit Disney+. Check out the show's unusual release schedule below. When Do New Episodes of Ironheart Come Out On Disney+? Ironheart Season 1 on Disney+ New episodes of Ironheart are released every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Disney+ through July 1, 2025. How Many Episodes Are In Ironheart Season 1? Ironheart Season 1 on Disney+ There are a total of six episodes in Ironheart Season 1. Unlike other MCU superhero series, the season is being released in two parts over the span of one week. Some critics have taken issue with the show's limited episode count, especially for a first season expected to introduce new characters and storylines. Variety's TV critic Alison Herman wrote, 'Because Ironheart is only six episodes, there's not enough time for the show to settle into one identity before another takes over.' Chicago Indie Critics' Adam Patla posted on X,' #Ironheart suffers from too few episodes to dynamically explore the interesting ideas of access and privilege being discussed. However, Dominique Thorne and Alden Ehrenreich lead this show toward a satisfying conclusion that left me excited for Marvel's next steps.' What Is The Ironheart Season 1 Release Schedule? Ironheart Season 1 on Disney+ The first three episodes of Ironheart premiered on June 24. Instead of following a weekly summer release, the final three episodes of the series will drop all at once on Tuesday, July 1, at 9 p.m. ET, meaning fans won't have to wait weeks for new episodes.
