Measures will also be taken to enhance student attendance at Government Junior Colleges. The staff working in these colleges was encouraged to demonstrate greater dedication in their roles.

Mandatory Biometric Update of Aadhaar to be launched in Telangana Inter Colleges
Department of Posts (DoP) and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will soon launch the Mandatory Biometric Update of Aadhaar in all Intermediate colleges in Telangana. Officials from DoP and UIDAI met Board of Intermediate Education Secretary Krishna Aditya on Tuesday (July 15, 2025) and confirmed that they would conduct special camps to complete this exercise. According to DoP, the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) ofAadhaar is a critical requirement for students to ensure accuracy in their biometric data in the age group of 15-17 years. It is done free of charge. As Aadhaar is a mandatory document for applying to major national-level entrance examinations, the update prevents issues related to authentication and ensures seamless digital verification during application and admission processes, it reasoned. The DoP further said that Telangana circle through its network of trained Aadhaar operators and available Aadhaar kits is fully prepared to conduct these enrolments and the camps for updation in a phased manner in coordination with the respective colleges. The field units are being mobilised to ensure maximum coverage before the commencement of application timelines for national-level exams.

Telugu not being given step-motherly treatment: TGBIE
Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) on Friday clarified that Telugu will not be treated as a step-motherly language, firmly denying the baseless rumours that Sanskrit is being introduced as a replacement for Telugu. Professors from the Central University submitted a representation to the Director of Intermediate Education, Krishna Aditya, and the Regional Joint Director, Jayaprada Bai, urging that the Telugu language be given its due importance as the second language at the intermediate level in government junior colleges. Regional Joint Director of Intermediate Education Jayaprada Bai clarified that as part of a recent recruitment conducted by the Telangana Public Service Commission, 10 posts for Sanskrit were filled. To identify which colleges have vacancies and to assess how many students are opting for the subject, the Director of Intermediate Education issued a memo to gather internal information from the principals. This memo was purely administrative in nature and should not be construed as an effort to promote Sanskrit in place of Telugu in Government Junior Colleges.
