UP Board students outperform peers in private schools at foundation level

Noida: Students of UP board schools have outperformed those in private institutions at the foundational level, exceeding the national average by 4% points in both literacy and numeracy, according to the 2024 PARAKH survey by NCERT. However, performance dipped in higher classes, with the state scoring below average in Classes 6 and 9 across core subjects. The Performance, Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development or PARAKH survey is conducted annually under the ministry of education to evaluate the effectiveness of the school education system by assessing competencies at various educational stages. It replaced NCERT's National Achievement Survey (NAS) last year and seeks to test students at Classes 3 (foundation stage), 6 (preparatory) and 9 (middle stage) on a new framework aligned with global surveys such as the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). A total of 8,865 schools were surveyed, which included 30,817 teachers and 2.53 lakh students. Noida sees 16% learning gap in government and private schools

Noida: Govt school students' performance fell far behind that of their peers in private ones in Noida, making it the only district in UP with a wide learning gap last year. The findings, part of the PARAKH survey that assesses learning outcomes at three key stages — foundational (Class 3), preparatory (Class 6), and middle (Class 9)—show that govt school students in Noida scored an average of 60%, while private school students achieved 76%, marking the widest gap in the state. The data was released by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on Wednesday. At the foundational level (Class 3), Noida's performance was also below the state average, trailing by 3% points in language and 4% points in mathematics. Op Kayakalp: Govt plans to rebuild unsafe & abandoned school buildings

1 2 Prayagraj: The UP govt plans to rebuild about 633 state-run basic schools across Prayagraj district that are dilapidate and unsafe under 'Operation Kayakalp' initiative. The move is seen as a step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of students and improving the overall learning environment. According to the basic education department, while 98.51% of schools in the district now have access to basic amenities like electricity, water and toilets, the condition of some has raised concerns. These schools identified in a local survey have damaged classrooms, old kitchens and unsafe verandas or toilets. In many cases, only a few rooms or parts of the school were found to be structurally safe. Now, as per protocol, a committee chaired by chief development officer and comprising executive engineers from the rural engineering services, public works department, and minor irrigation department is conducting detailed surveys. Their task is to assess the structural integrity of these buildings, determine the cost of demolition where necessary, and oversee the formulation of new construction proposals. Once the technical evaluation is complete and necessary permissions are obtained, the demolition of unsafe structures will begin. Tenders will be floated, and after the financial approvals are secured, the construction of new classrooms and buildings will commence. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dukung Orang Terkasih Menghadapi Limfoma: Mulai Di Sini Limfoma Pelajari Undo The state administration has assured that every step will be taken as per established norms and with a focus on safety and quality.
