Armani couture channels black as maestro misses Paris bow for 1st time, days from 91st birthday
Days from his 91st birthday and following doctors' advice after a recent hospital stay, Armani reportedly oversaw the Paris couture week show remotely from home, a moment of absence that lands heavily for a designer who has shaped every one of his brand's collections since its founding.
The show's theme, 'Seductive Black,' played out with literal and symbolic force on the runway: black in myriad forms, from liquid velvet and lacquered silk to pavé crystals and flashes of gold. Even the models' makeup followed suit, rendered in shades of gray.
For some in the front row, the relentless palette felt pointed. Guests quietly wondered if the choice of black was a coded message from the maestro himself.
Armani missed Milan, too
This is not the first major show Armani has missed this season. Just weeks ago, he was forced to sit out Milan Fashion Week for the first time in the label's history, following a brief hospitalization.
According to the brand, the absence was a precaution to save energy for his Paris couture appearance.
For decades, Armani — often referred to as 'Re Giorgio,' or King George, in Italy — has been both the creative and business force behind one of fashion's last great independent empires.
The Tuesday collection balanced tension and control. After an uncertain start, including velvet jodhpurs and stark crystalline seams, Armani's familiar codes quickly emerged: tuxedo jackets transformed into evening gowns with plunging lapels and floating bow ties, tailored blazers worn on bare skin and military-inspired equestrian jackets paired with slim velvet pants.
Bursts of embroidery and colored feathers provided a balance from the monochrome.

Armani's recent absences have sent ripples through the industry. In a landscape dominated by conglomerates like LVMH and Kering, Armani remains the sole shareholder of his company, personally overseeing every collection for nearly 50 years. In 2024, Armani Group reported revenues of $2.5 billion, while Giorgio Armani's personal fortune is estimated at $11–13 billion — even as the global luxury market faces headwinds.
Armani is widely credited with redefining men's and women's tailoring, pioneering gender-fluidity in fashion, and inventing celebrity red-carpet dressing, from Julia Roberts to Cate Blanchett. Yet the designer himself has acknowledged that age is now a reality to deal with and that pulling back could be a necessity.
Whether the monochrome collection was a deliberate metaphor or simply a showcase of discipline, 'Seductive Black' felt personal — both a mood and a message, perhaps an understated nod to a master whose presence, even in absence, remains absolute. As the show closed, the final bow belonged to the models alone. But Armani's vision — uncompromising and unmistakably his — filled the room.

‘Maxton Hall' Season 3 Is Coming! Release Date, Cast, Plot + More
It's an excellent month to be a Maxton Hall fan! Prime Video's hit teen drama series took the world by storm when it first released in March 2024. With the series racking up more than 95 million TikTok posts since its debut, fans remain feral for this German-language series adapted from Mona Kasten's Save Me book trilogy. The book-to-screen adaptation was also grouped in 'the big three' for modern coming-of-age stories, along with fellow Prime TV hit The Summer I Turned Pretty and Netflix's My Life With the Walter Boys. And right now, the fandom is celebrating big time because Prime Video announced Maxton Hall Season 3 is officially greenlit—five months before Season 2's release date! Keep reading to find out more about Maxton Hall Season 3, plot details, potential release dates, behind-the-scenes updates and more. The first book in the international bestselling Maxton Hall series, Save Me, follows the smart, straightlaced Ruby Bell. After Ruby was awarded a scholarship to one of England's most prestigious and expensive private schools, Maxton Hall, she spends her days studying, planning her future at Oxford University and keeping her distance from other students—especially the rich, handsome and arrogant James Beaufort. When Ruby stumbles upon a scandal involving the Beauforts, James confronts her. As the two are forced to work together to plan the school's upcoming gala, they clash in every possible way. But as they spend time together, Ruby finds herself drawn to James. As they both desperately fight their feelings, other dramas arise that may alter their worlds and futures. The second book in the series, Save You, will be adapted into Season 2, and Save Us, the last book in the trilogy, will be adapted into Season 3. The first two books were re-released in English in 2025. All three books follow the turbulent evolution of James and Ruby's love story. The news about Maxton Hall's renewal for Season 3 (five months ahead of Season 2's premiere date) was delivered to fans on Instagram by the series' stars Harriet Herbig-Matten, who plays Ruby, and Damian Hardung, who plays James. 'Damien, you won't believe what just arrived—Maxton Hall is coming back for Season 3,' Herbig-Matten said to Hardung in the video. 'It's here,' Hardung responded, showing a Season 3 script to the camera while smiling. 'One last time back to school!' See the full announcement video below. Fans can expect Season 2 and Season 3 to star Herbig-Matten and Hardung, along with many of the other fan-favorite cast members. Fans were waiting with bated breath about this Season 3 announcement, but months ago, Christoph Scheider, Country Director at Prime Video Germany and Austria hinted at the possibility. 'We had a great IP (intellectual property), it was brilliantly made, we had a great cast—and not just the two main actors, who are outstanding, but also the others,' he told Deadline. 'Everyone was really great, and that made this a unicorn show. The good news is we have three seasons.' Scheider went on to reveal that the show's producers had to work around Maxton Hall super fans, who found out where filming was taking place and flocked the set. 'It was shot in a castle near Hanover, which is not a secret anymore,' he continued. 'It was really challenging to shoot Season 2 because so many fans were there every day trying to take photographs, but the plot was top secret, so it was really a challenge for the team.' Maxton Hall Season 2 is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7, 2025. An Amazon spokesperson offered a behind-the-scenes update to Deadline about the upcoming seasons a few months ago: 'We want to offer fans around the globe the best Maxton Hall experience. We're intensely working on a first-class production and music composition for the series, including comprehensive language versions. We promise the wait will be worth it.' Buzz continues to build for the teen drama ahead of Season 2's premiere and a teaser trailer just dropped, revealing quite a few eye-opening tidbits for fans. In the teaser, we see James and Ruby being torn apart again, wild parties, simmering drama and, yes, more angst and tension than ever before. See the full teaser trailer below. As of right now, there is no official release date for Season 3. The good news? Well, since Season 3 was greenlit way ahead of Season 2's premiere, it's likely we'll see Season 3 sometime in very late 2025 or early 2026. (Basically, it will be a shorter wait for a new season this time around!) Stay tuned for more details! The first season of Maxton Hall is available to stream right now on Amazon Prime Video. Rosé Returns To The Hot 100 And Passes BTS Star Jin In The Process
Rosé earns her fourth solo Hot 100 hit with 'On My Mind' alongside Alex Warren, which this week ... More debuts at No. 60. She passes Jin as she returns to the tally. (Photo by River Callaway/WWD via Getty Images) WWD via Getty Images Rosé has maintained a constant presence on the Hot 100 for months now, thanks to her Bruno Mars collaboration "Apt." That tune has turned out to be one of the most successful songs in American history by a K-pop musician, and it's still performing very well to this day, long after it peaked in historic positions. As it nears a year on the competitive tally, "Apt." lives inside the top 40 on the Hot 100. Meanwhile, Rosé's new duet with rising star Alex Warren, "On My Mind," arrives on that main chart, as well as a variety of other Billboard rankings. Its debut helps Rosé advance again on the list of the most successful K-pop acts in the United States. "On My Mind" opens at No. 60 on the Hot 100 this week, giving Rosé her fourth solo win on the list of the most popular tracks in America. While it's the newer of the two, "On My Mind" comes in dozens of spaces behind "Apt.," which manages to lift this frame, moving up one spot to No. 27. With her fourth career hit on the Hot 100, Rosé breaks out of her tie with BTS star Jin. Both acts had recently claimed a trio of successes, but now Rosé has pulled ahead and tied with another member of the same group. Suga, who also releases music under the name Agust D, has also accrued four placements on the Hot 100 aside from his work with BTS. Now, they're matched for the eighth-most hits among K-pop solo stars on the all-encompassing chart. Looking only at soloists from the K-pop space, J-Hope continues to lead the charge with eight Hot 100 smashes — twice as many as Rosé has now earned. In between the BTS rapper and Rosé and Suga are Jung Kook (with seven Hot 100 appearances), Jimin, Jennie, V and Lisa (six each) and Psy (five). Radio Airplay Fuels Rosé and Warren's New Duet "On My Mind" reaches the Hot 100 thanks to a mix of streams, sales, and attention at radio, though the track doesn't manage to debut on either the Digital Song Sales or Streaming Songs rankings. The collaboration does launch inside the top 40 on both the Adult Pop Airplay and Pop Airplay charts, as it seems that spins across a variety of pop radio formats are largely to thank for Rosé and Warren reaching the Hot 100.
