Dog the Bounty Hunter's step-grandson, Anthony, died after a reported accidental shooting. He was 13 years old at the time of his tragic death.
Anthony was accidentally shot and killed by his father, Gregory Zecca, who is Dog's stepson, in Naples, Florida, on Saturday, July 19, per TMZ.
'We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,' Dog, real name Duane Chapman, and his wife, Francie Frane, told TMZ in a statement per their PR representative.
Police are treating the case as an 'isolated incident,' and the investigation is ongoing with no current arrests, according to the outlet.
Francie welcomed Gregory during her previous marriage to her late husband, Bob.
Dog, 72, and Francie developed a relationship while both were navigating life after losing their partners. The reality star lost his wife Beth Chapman in 2019 after a battle with throat cancer.
Francie and Dog met later that year and got engaged in 2020.
"I'm getting married," Dog gushed during an August 2021 appearance on the 'Two Guys From Hollywood' podcast. "We went to the venue, picked it out yesterday, looked at it. Man, it costs a lot to get married."
" I felt very bad about even wanting to have someone else after Beth," Dog later confessed on the podcast. "And then when I went to the Bible, the Genesis, and found out how Adam got Eve, as I was going to find the exact story, I saw the scripture that says, 'God does not want a man to be alone.'"
The pair tied the knot in Colorado the following month and made it a point to honor each of their late spouses in their vows.
"We have been doing that all along," Francie told Entertainment Tonight at the time. "We have done that privately, and in our vows, we will be honoring them. We honor them all of the time. And so we will continue to do that throughout their lives. Throughout our life together, we will continue to do that. They will be a part of that always."

San Diego Comic-Con attendee taken away in ambulance after suffering medical emergency

A convention staff member told EW that someone suffered an emergency near the escalators at the entrance to the San Diego Convention Center. A 2025 Comic-Con attendee was taken away in an ambulance after suffering a medical emergency inside the San Diego Convention Center on Saturday. An Entertainment Weekly reporter at the scene was informed by a convention staff member that 'someone' suffered an emergency near the escalators at the convention entrance, but would not disclose any additional information about what occurred or their condition. The individual was subsequently taken away on a stretcher and loaded into the ambulance, which left the scene just after noon PT. Video footage from the event taken by EW shows a growing crowd surrounding the convention center entrance, with the ambulance parked out front. As a result, entrance to the convention center was briefly paused on Saturday in order to allow emergency services to pull up to the front of the building and aid the individual. Attendees were allowed to enter the convention shortly after the ambulance departed. The incident comes just one day after a confusing fire alarm announcement rang out near Hall H and Ballroom 20, despite no alarm actually being heard. Security notified attendees during a Dexter: Resurrection panel to 'remain calm' and await further instructions. "I'm not calm," moderator Jamie Chung said, to which star Michael C. Hall replied, "Thank God Dexter's with us." Outside of general confusion from the crowd — and a brief delay from one Hall H panel to the next — the fire alarm did not cause any major disruption on Friday. Check out more of . Marine veteran's brain returned by funeral home in an unmarked and leaking box, lawsuit claims

A couple is suing two funeral homes after their veteran son's brain was returned in an unmarked cardboard box that was leaking 'biohazardous liquid,' a lawsuit alleges. Lawrence and Abbey Butler are suing Nix & Nix Funeral Homes in Pennsylvania and Southern Cremations & Funeral in Georgia for the 'mishandling' of the remains of their son Timothy Garlington, a Marine veteran who died in November 2023. That month, the couple hired Southern Cremations & Funerals to transport their son's remains to Nix & Nix Funeral Home in Philadelphia. A week later, Lawrence Butler picked up a 'white, unmarked cardboard box' they thought contained his personal belongings, the filing states. The box began to smell and leak fluids in his car. When the couple tried to remove the box, 'biohazardous liquid spilled' onto them, the lawsuit alleges. They reached out to the funeral homes to learn that the box contained their late son's brain. "The family has been destroyed twice," their lawyer, L. Chris Stewart, told Fox 5. The couple says they suffered 'serious mental and emotional distress' as a result of the funeral homes' mishandling of their son's remains, the suit stated. It called the defendants' conduct 'extreme and outrageous.' They've accused the defendants of negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other claims, for an unspecified amount in damages. 'It was, and it is still, in my heart that I got in my car and I smelled death,' Lawrence Butler told the Associated Press. 'I had to get rid of that car,' he added. 'I just couldn't stand the idea that the remains were in that car.' Stewart told the AP that after speaking to several other funeral homes, he learned the brain is not typically 'separated from [the] body in that fashion and shipped in that fashion.' In the circumstances that the body parts are separated, they are labeled as a biohazard. 'There's no excuse, there is zero excuse for this type of error to happen. For the Georgia funeral home, Southern Cremations, to ship unmarked, bio-hazardous material. For the funeral home here in Philadelphia to hand the parents an unmarked box, not examined, not on a list of the inventory that was the personal items, to not check it,' Stewart told the AP. 'They have not received a single apology to this day from any funeral home.' The owner of Nix & Nix Funeral Homes said that his team didn't know that the box contained brain matter and noted that the state board did a thorough investigation and cleared them of wrongdoing. "Any body parts should be in the body. I don't understand why they would send his brains in a box, a regular box," Julian Nix, the owner of Nix and Nix Funeral Home, told Fox 5. "We immediately reported it to the state board and the medical examiner for inspection," Nix told the outlet. "When the state board investigated, they said that we did everything correct."
