
Gaza Field Hospitals warn of rising deaths due to fuel shortage
The Director of Field Hospitals in Gaza, Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, warned on Sunday of a surge in patient deaths due to the fuel shortage affecting hospitals.
According to the Palestinian news agency Ma'an, Dr. Al-Hams stated: 'We cannot continue providing medical services without fuel.'
He added that Israeli forces have looted hospitals, including solar panels used for power generation.
'We are unable to operate intensive care units and dialysis departments without fuel,' he said.

Gaza – Saba: The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 57,523 martyrs and 136,617 injured since October 7, 2023, according to the latest figures released on Monday. Sana'a - SABA: The Ninth Scientific Conference of September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences will begin tomorrow Tuesday in the capital Sana'a focusing on graduation research projects of the third cohort from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. University President and Conference Chair Dr Mujahid Massar stated to SABA that the conference aims to strengthen the culture of scientific research among students encourage excellence in preparing their research projects and open communication channels between students faculty and supervisors to enhance the quality of medical education and training. He affirmed the university's commitment to supporting scientific research encouraging innovation and student initiatives and linking academic outputs with professional and societal realities by addressing purposeful scientific and practical issues. Sana'a - SABA: The regular board meeting of the Cardiac and Catheterization Center at Al-Kuwait University Hospital was held today at Sana'a University, chaired by University President and Board Chairman, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti. The meeting brought together key university officials, including Assistant President for Medical Colleges Dr. Abdulhafid Thawabah, Assistant President for Scientific Centers Dr. Zaid Al-Warith, Assistant President for Media Affairs Adel Al-Habbabi, and Director of the Cardiac Center Dr. Salah Al-Shawki. The session focused on mechanisms to enhance the center's performance and improve both its medical and research services. Dr. Al-Shawki presented a report detailing the outcomes of his recent visits to several European cardiac centers. He announced agreements enabling Al-Kuwait Hospital's Cardiac Center to participate in joint scientific studies and publish its research in reputable European journals. The board approved the formation of a committee to evaluate the center's solar and electrical power systems and another to review patient intake procedures and service fees, ensuring they align with humanitarian considerations and leadership directives to offer high-quality care to the underprivileged. Additionally, it approved draft documents for new diploma programs in echocardiography and cardiac nursing, pending academic ratification. Preparations are also underway for a scientific day event on cardiovascular disease and catheterization, scheduled for August at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
