Report – Argentina Star's Future At Inter Milan Up In The Air This Summer
The future of attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni at Inter Milan is up in the air this summer.
This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Genoa are keen on loaning in the 20-year-old.

At the moment, Valentin Carboni is a part of Inter's senior squad.
The Argentine's loan spell with Marseille last campaign ended prematurely. This following an ACL tear that he suffered during the autumn.
Carboni spent much of last season recovering from that injury.
And having fully healed from that devastating knee injury, Carboni was ready to travel to the United States for the Club World Cup this summer.

Carboni got his share of playing time for Inter Milan at the Club World Cup.
Most notably, the 20-year-old scored Inter's stoppage time winner against Urawa Red Diamonds.

That showed that new Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu is hardly unwilling to put his trust in Carboni.
Therefore, there would be a real chance of the Argentine sticking around as part of the first team plans for the upcoming season.
However, reports the Gazzetta, it is also quite possible that Carboni – who had also spent the 2023-24 season on loan with Monza – could have another loan move in store.

Alvarez's tiebreaking goal gives Mexico 2-1 win over U.S. for 10th Gold Cup title
HOUSTON (AP) — Edson Álvarez scored a tiebreaking goal in the 77th minute after a video review reversed an offside call, and Mexico beat the United States 2-1 on Sunday night for its record 10th CONCACAF Gold Cup title. Chris Richards put the U.S. ahead in the fourth minute, heading in a Sebastian Berhalter free kick for the second time in the tournament, but Raúl Jiménez tied the score in the 27th with his third goal of this Gold Cup. Mexico was awarded the free kick when Diego Luna fouled Alexis Vega on a flank. Johan Vásquez flicked the restart across the goalmouth and Álvarez burst past the defence, redirecting the ball from three yards just inside Matt Freese's far post. While the play was initially called offside, the goal was awarded by the VAR, and Mexico defended its title from 2023 while improving to 6-2 in Gold Cup finals against the U.S. Patrick Agyemang had a chance two minutes into stoppage time but he didn't make good contact on his short-range shot that was blocked by goalkeeper Luis Malagón. 'We're disappointed obviously to not come away with a win,' U.S. captain Tim Ream said. A sellout crowd of 70,925 at NRG Stadium was about 70 per cent pro-Mexico and booed U.S. players when they walked out for pre-game warm-ups. Mexico dominated with 60 per cent possession and had 12 corner kicks to none for the Americans. This was the final competitive match for the U.S. and Mexico before co-hosting next year's World Cup with Canada. The U.S., which has seven Gold Cup titles but none since 2021, used a starting lineup with only a handful of players currently projected as World Cup starters, missing regulars due to vacation, injuries and the Club World Cup. Coach Mauricio Pochettino used their absence to evaluate players who could push for starting jobs during the friendlies this fall and next spring, and Luna, Agyemang and Freese emerged as contenders for World Cup roster spots. Richards put the U.S. in front when he headed Berhalter's free kick from about 40 yards off the crossbar. The ball bounced straight down and just crossed the goal line. Jiménez scored his 42nd international goal, third-most in Mexican history. He burst past the defence and one-timed the pass from Marcel Ruiz, beating Freese from about 10 yards on a shot that might have nicked Ream. Jiménez celebrated by grabbing a Mexico No. 20 jersey with 'DIOGO J' in honour of Diogo Jota, his former Wolverhampton teammate who died in a car crash Thursday in Spain. Jiménez ran to a corner, sat down with the jersey and mimicked playing a video game. ___ AP soccer:

5-star WR shockingly picks Syracuse over Michigan football
The post 5-star WR shockingly picks Syracuse over Michigan football appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Michigan football team seemed like the favorite to land five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell on Saturday, but there were some tough competitors. Russell was also considering elite programs like Oregon, Miami and… Syracuse? The Orange certainly don't seem to fit in with the rest of the crowd, but they are the ones that landed the commitment. This is unfortunate miss for Sherrone Moore and Michigan, but their 2026 class is still in great shape. Advertisement 'BREAKING: Five-Star WR Calvin Russell has Committed to Syracuse, he tells me for @rivals,' Hayes Fawcett said in a post. 'The 6'5 200 WR chose the Orange over Michigan, Florida State, & Oregon. He's the highest-ranked recruit to commit to Syracuse in the past 20 years.' Calvin Russell had a quick message to share upon his commitment to Syracuse: 'FRAN BROWN!!!' He said. Russell is a five-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He is the #21 player in the 2026 recruiting class, the #3 WR and the #2 player in the state of Florida. Russell currently attends Northwestern High School in Miami, FL. Michigan, Miami and others recruited him hard, but Syracuse got the job done. Advertisement 'Hulking wide receiver with above-the-rim athleticism that makes him a uniquely dangerous target, especially down in the red zone,' Russell's scouting report reads. 'Owns more of a slender build, but has measured over 6-foot-5 multiple times and is blessed with a near 6-foot-10 wingspan. Isn't exactly the most polished route runner at this stage, but creates separation with unexpected suddenness for such a longer strider. Superb body control tends to create even more of a disadvantage for defensive backs as he wins 50-50 battles with timing and positioning.' Michigan needs elite WR talent, and Russell would've been the perfect addition. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the right fit. 'Not going to outrun every tackle, but is quick to hit the gas and can make some dynamic cuts in traffic,' the scouting report adds. 'Spent much of freshman and sophomore seasons repping as a run first-quarterback out of necessity before settling in as a must-look option in Year 3 for a storied Miami Northwestern program that captured a 3A championship. Will need to add some body armour to a rather wiry frame in hopes of improving play strength and buy into the process at the school of his choice, but should be viewed as a potential impact pass catcher for a College Football Playoff contender that can be positioned all around the field in hopes of creating mismatches. One of those good-at-everything athletes that could legitimately play two spots in college as he's also being recruited by basketball high majors.' Advertisement The good news for Michigan football fans is that the team is still on an incredible recruiting run right now, and this 2026 class is going to be one of the best in the country.
