Family of Tamika Chesser speak after alleged murder of boyfriend
A desperate search for the dismembered head of a man allegedly murdered by his former reality TV star lover continues 11 days since police made the grim discovery of his body.
South Australian police allege Tamika Chesser, 34, killed her partner Julian Story at their Port Lincoln Home earlier this month.
Ms Chesser, a runner up of television series Beauty and the Geek, has been charged with murder, destroying remains and assaulting a police officer.
Family of Ms Chesser told 9News they had held concerns over her mental health in recent times, with her sister claiming she'd suffered a 'life of trauma and abuse'.
'It's my sister but that's not who she is or the Tamika we know – that's not the Tamika anyone knows,' her sister said.
'It just started getting worse, you know, and she started being in and out of mental health.
'She didn't mention anything and she just told everyone that she loves them.
'It is very sad and I'm really sorry to Julian's family.'
Footage has emerged of Ms Chesser at local businesses and beaches in the Port Lincoln area, on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula.
The headless body of Mr Story, 39, were found on June 19 after allegedly being set alight in the Flinders Highway unit he shared with Ms Chesser.
CCTV footage published by 9New s on Sunday night appeared to show the former TV contestant walking from a local petrol station.
Police claim that footage was filmed roughly three hours before Mr Julian's charred bod was found.
Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke, head of the Major Crimes Squad, issued an appeal for witnesses who may have seen Ms Chesser around the time of the alleged murder.
'All murders cause pain and grief for victims' families and friends. The circumstances of this murder are particularly harrowing, confronting and distressing,' he said.
'Major Crime detectives have spoken with Julian's family who are devastated by his loss and also by the circumstances surrounding his death.
'We are releasing the details of this horrific crime because it is vital for Julian's family to peacefully lay him to rest.
'We know that Tamika did not drive a vehicle and regularly walked around the township of Port Lincoln.
'We are appealing to anyone who can help us to identify Tamika's movements to please contact police.'
Police had earlier released CCTV of Ms Chesser walking near her home in all black accompanied by three dogs.
On Saturday, Port Lincoln mayor Diana Mislov spoke on behalf of Mr Story's family today as search efforts continued.
'I know he loved his family deeply,' Ms Mislov said.
'I just want the community and for everyone to understand that he was a human being who didn't deserve this and was much loved, very much loved.'
Ms Chesser is currently being held in mental health custody and is due to appear in court again in December.

'Whole future ahead of him': Devastated parents of Joshua Bishop speak out after man charged with son's murder
The heartbroken parents of Melbourne man Joshua Bishop have spoken out after their son's remains were found a month after he was last seen, as a man is charged with the 23-year-old's murder. Mr Bishop was last seen by his housemates on May 27 at their home in Sunbury, and was reported missing two days later. However, the month-long search for Mr Bishop ended in tragedy on Saturday when police confirmed human remains had been found at a property on Erinbank Crescent in Westmeadows. A man, who has been since named as 27-year-old Brandon Watts, has been charged with one count of murder over Mr Bishop's death. The 23-year-old's parents Travis and Kristie Bishop were in tears as they addressed the media on Monday, two days after their son's remains were discovered. Travis described his son as "such a beautiful kid" who had "his whole future ahead of him". "Never had a cruel bone in his body. He's always the boy who wanted to help everybody and he put everyone else before himself," Travis told 9News. "Now that he's been taken away from us, that hole cannot be filled." Travis made an emotional plea for "justice" for their son in the wake of police charging a man with the 23-year-old's murder. "We're in Australia, this is the lucky country and we've had our son taken from us ... it's not fair," the father said. "I'm so angry, I just want justice. I want justice for our son, our baby boy." The couple thanked police and the community for their ongoing support and efforts to help find their son. "All we can do is just honour our son and the beautiful boy that he is," Travis said. A GoFundMe Page had been created to raise donations to the search for Mr Bishop, which included the printing and distributing of flyers and posters. In an updated statement via the fundraiser on Sunday, Mr Bishop's family confirmed the 23-year-old had been found but not in the way they had hoped. "With the heaviest hearts, we share that our beloved Joshua Bishop has been found - but sadly, not in the way we had hoped," the family said. "We are devastated and struggling to find the words. Your incredible support, generosity, and compassion throughout this heartbreaking time have meant more than we can express. "The Bishop family has felt truly surrounded by love through every moment of this journey." The GoFundMe, which had raised $25,575 out of the $35,000 goal at the time of publishing, will continue to go towards supporting the family with any costs during this time. "Rest in peace, Josh. You are deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten," the statement read. A Facebook page titled "Find Joshua Bishop" had also been created to support the search for the 23-year-old. Detectives have previously said that Mr Bishop's phone and bank accounts had not been accessed since he went missing in late May. The 23-year-old's phone last pinged at Broadmeadows Valley Park on Barry Road, an area which had previously been searched twice on June 6 and 16. Mr Watts briefly appeared before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday after he was charged by detectives on Sunday night. Court documents allege Mr Bishop was murdered between May 27 and May 28. Mr Watts, who has been remanded in custody and did not apply for bail, is expected to next appear in court on September 22.

Rohen James Hanson trial begins over the alleged 2021 murder of his partner
A man accused of murdering his partner in a remote cabin has admitted to initially lying to police about her death, a court has heard. Rohen James Hanson, 42, was charged with murder after Dee Annear's death more than three years ago during a camping trip. Ms Annear, 34, was found dead outside a cabin in Bulga Forest on the New South Wales Mid North Coast on September 18, 2021. The trial began on Monday in the Supreme Court, sitting in Newcastle in front of Justice Ian Harrison, and is expected to run for two weeks. When asked how he pleaded to the charge of murder, Mr Hanson said, "Not guilty to murder, but guilty to manslaughter." Crown prosecutor Carl Young rejected this plea, as murder is the only charge available for the jury to decide upon. Mr Young told the jury the pair had a volatile and violent relationship, "one of regular drunken arguments and fights". The relationship was characterised by "the tendency of the accused to physically assault Ms Annear during an argument," he said. At the time of Ms Annear's death, they were visiting from their home in Wingham on a multi-day camping trip to a remote logger's cabin they called "the witch's hut". Mr Young told the court, "What happens between 6pm Friday and the accused calling triple-zero at 10:45am [the next day] is the key issue." On the recording of the triple-zero calls played for the jury, a distressed Mr Hanson is heard telling the operator, "There's no reviving her … she's passed away while I went to go get help." Mr Young said Mr Hanson lied repeatedly in two triple-zero calls, as well as to first responders and in a police interview, about Ms Annear sustaining injuries in a car crash on Pole Dark Road 3.5 kilometres away from where the two were staying. After being arrested and charged with murder on September 21, 2021, Mr Hanson admitted he lied and that the two had actually gotten into an argument in the hut on the night of September 17, 2021. The prosecution said Mr Hanson then told police multiple different accounts of a fight that involved Ms Annear hitting him in the head with a beer bottle and him tackling her into a wall and knocking her out. Mr Young said Mr Hanson told police, "I didn't mean it, I tackled her and she hit her head." The prosecution told the court that autopsy evidence showed Ms Annear had fractures to her skull, jaw, nose and ribs along an injury consistent with a strangulation attempt. Defence barrister Peter Krisenthal acknowledged that Mr Hanson lied initially, but told jurors that within two days of his initial remarks, he recanted and told the police the truth. Mr Krisenthal said Mr Hanson's attempt to plead guilty to manslaughter was important "because that's Mr Hanson's acceptance that he caused the death". Mr Krisenthal said Mr Hanson did not intend to kill or seriously harm Ms Annear and that he was acting in self-defence after Ms Annear initially attacked him with a beer bottle after the pair had been drinking. Evidence from family members and friends is expected to be heard in the coming days.

Questions raised after Aussie millionare Greg Josephson's death
Footage has captured the moment a 15-year-old began rummaging through the rubbish bins at a local cafe shortly after allegedly murdering a 58-year-old fashion mogul in his own home. Greg Josephson, 58, was found dead at his Clayfield house in the city's north, shortly after 8pm on Thursday night. Mr Josephson co-founded the youth-focused Universal Store clothing company with his brother Michael in 1999, in the southeast Brisbane suburb of Carindale. The alleged murder happened while about 30 teenagers were having a party at the home. Mr Josephson and a 15-year-old known to him allegedly were involved in an altercation in which the multi-millionaire sustained critical injuries. The teenager was arrested and charged with one count of murder. CCTV has now emerged of the moments shortly after the alleged murder which shows the boy rummaging through the rubbish bins of a local cafe in Ascot. The boy, who is wearing dark clothes, walks over to the back of the venue where multiple rubbish bins can be seen. He picks up and moves two of them while holding a white piece of cloth. The boy sustained minor injuries to his hand, police said. Police have since searched the cafe as part of their investigation. On Friday, in Brisbane Children's Court, Magistrate Megan Power ordered a brief evidence which is set to be provided to the defence by August 22. He will remain in custody until the case returns to court on September 2. Acting Assistant Commissioner Rhys Wildman said a household knife was used during the alleged murder. Police allege the 15-year-old made the triple 0 call himself before being arrested at a street nearby. 'There was some sort of altercation that's resulted in this 58-year old male tragically losing his life,' he said. 'It's not a case of carrying knives, it's unfortunately allotted in a home. 'This is quite a traumatic incident that occurred, so the welfare of those young people will also be considered in this.' Inspector Jane Healy said police arrived to a 'confronting' scene. 'We are still establishing the timeline of what has happened at this address. There were about 30 young people here,' Inspector Healy said. 'It's still extremely early and the situation was quite chaotic, confusing and confronting scene when police arrived. 'Police are not looking for any other party, so it was an individual, the 15-year-old is the sole offender that we allege was involved in this incident.' Neighbours who spoke to the Courier Mail said partygoers were desperately trying to leave the party. 'They were just like 'we want to go home, and we're not allowed to leave'. 'They were devastated,' the neighbour said. They said the party was so quiet that they did not even realise anyone was home. 'It was extremely quiet, I wouldn't have even known there was a party going on last night.' Family's mansion had recently gone up for sale Mr Josephson's family had recently listed their 'five-star' mansion for sale and spoke of his sadness at moving the family to Noosa. He had purchased the home with his wife Tamra in 2017. 'We were looking for a big family home and this was in very original condition,' Mr Josephson told The Courier-Mail at the time. 'It was perched on a peak with vistas to the Gateway Bridge and mountains, and the house had character, a solid structure, and was on a big block.' Mr Josephson and his brother sold Universal Store for more than $100 million in 2018, with the company since becoming an ASX-listed company worth close to $600 million. Since the 2018 sale Mr Josephson has been chief executive of Josephson Holdings Pty Ltd, according to his LinkedIn, but appears to have kept a relatively low public profile.
