It looks like Bo Nix attended Tez Johnson's draft party
The Nix family took Tez Johnson into their home when he was a 15-year-old high school football player, and while he was not formally adopted, Johnson and Bo Nix consider themselves brothers. Nix and Johnson played together at Oregon in 2023, connecting 86 times for 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
When Nix went pro last spring, Johnson was by his side when his brother and quarterback got "The Call" from the Denver Broncos during the 2024 NFL draft. Fittingly, when Tez waited to hear his name called during the 2025 NFL draft, it appears that Nix was at his brother's draft party this time around.
Johnson shared a post on in Instagram page that showed him getting the call and then celebrating with friends and family. Nix is shown in the last slide and Johnson is wearing the same suit in the same room, so it seems fair to assume Nix was among those in attendance. Nix's wife, Izzy, also shared a video on her Instagram story from Johnson's watch party.

As a reminder, here is Johnson at Nix's draft party last year:
Following the draft, Nix shared a message to Johnson on his Instagram story: "Keep proving them wrong kid @tezmania15."
Johnson ended up being picked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the draft (No. 235 overall). The Bucs are not among Denver's list of opponents this fall, but Nix and Johnson should face off on the field at some point down the road in their NFL careers.

NFL Top 100: Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Lavonte Davis, 2025 Cardinals opponent, is No. 96

Bucs LB Lavonte David, whom the Cardinals face in Week 13, is in the top 100 for the seventh time in his career. Another two players were revealed as part of the 2025 edition of the "NFL Top 100" on Wednesday. Two players in reverse order from 100 to 11 of the top 100 players in the league right now, as voted on by NFL players, are being revealed daily each weekday for nine weeks, followed by a show revealing the top 10 on September 1. On Wednesday, players No. 95 and 96 were revealed. New Arizona Cardinals linebacker Josh Sweat was named No. 95, as we posted about already. No. 96 is one of the Cardinals' 2025 opponents, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David. NFL Top 100: No. 96 Lavonte David, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers He was No. 99 last year. Bucs tackle Tristan Wirfs said in the video that David, who is 35 years old and enters his 14th NFL season, is "so underrated, so slept on." Wirfs added that David should have multiple Pro Bowls and that he should have made this past year's Pro Bowl. David has only one Pro Bowl selection, in 2025. He has, though, been in the top 100 seven times. Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson said of his division rival that David "is athletic and hasn't lost his athleticism." Wirfs cited how David was clocked running 19.5 miles per hour while chasing down Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. He is physical, still very athletic and very smart. The Cardinals will face him and his Bucs in Tampa Bay in Week 13. In five career games against the Cardinals, David has 27 total tackles, three for loss, two quarterback hits, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one he returned for a touchdown. Jamal Gibson back at HBCU after committing to Division I

The unlikely story of Jamal Gibson has once again shocked the college basketball world. The standout forward is flipping from a Division I school back to an HBCU. A Change of Plans Earlier this year, Gibson-two-time Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year in the HBCU Athletic Conference-committed to the University of New Orleans (UNO). He had announced his transfer portal entry via Instagram, followed days later by a post revealing his commitment to UNO with two years of eligibility left. That plan has now changed. On Wednesday afternoon, the Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) men's basketball team posted on Instagram that Gibson had committed to their NAIA program. XULA is a cross-town rival of Gibson's former school, Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO). Dominance at first HBCU Gibson made an immediate impact at SUNO during the 2023–2024 season. Despite being a 26-year-old rookie with no prior organized basketball experience, the 6-foot-8 forward dominated the NAIA level. In his freshman season, he averaged 21 points and 15.8 rebounds per game. He led the nation in total rebounds and set program records for points (579), rebounds (453), and double-doubles (27) in a single season. Gibson continued his dominant performance into 2024–2025. He logged his 43rd consecutive double-double with 26 points and 20 rebounds against Wilberforce University. He earned multiple conference and national honors and reclaimed his Player of the Year awards on both ends of the court. The UNO Factor Master P, a New Orleans icon, became UNO's President of Basketball Operations in February. Gibson was considered a major pickup for the program. "As a kid growing up in New Orleans, I can honestly say that basketball changed and saved my life," Miller said. "At that time, UNO was one of the best programs in the country. It was all about Privateer Nation, and there was so much excitement on the Lakefront. As President of Basketball Operations, I am committed to bringing back that winning tradition to NOLA's Team." HBCU bound again Instead of suiting up for a Division I team, Gibson will now join a strong XULA squad that finished 20–10 last season and earned a spot in the NAIA Tournament.
