Father and son arrested for processing RM1 million ecstasy in Muar
The suspects, aged 49 and 23, were caught grinding and repackaging the drugs into drink sachets.
Muar police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the operation, conducted between 4 pm and 10 pm, uncovered 6,389 grammes of ecstasy powder.
Authorities also confiscated processing tools, a Perodua Myvi (RM13,000), and a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle (RM7,000), believed to be used in drug distribution.
'The total value of the seized items is RM1.08 million. Investigations indicate the suspects started their illegal activities in February this year,' Raiz said during a press conference at the Muar District police headquarters.
Both suspects have prior drug-related records, with the father having served prison time.
The case is being investigated under Sections 15(1)(a) and 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Pregnant woman jailed three years for stealing RM12,000 bracelet
MELAKA: A five-month pregnant woman was sentenced to three years' in jail by the Sessions Court in Ayer Keroh here for robbing a female victim of a gold bracelet worth RM12,000. Judge Haderiah Siri meted out the sentence after the accused, Jasila Jamaruddin, 31, pleaded guilty when the charge was read on Friday (July 4). According to the charge sheet, the accused was charged with committing the robbery by snatching the gold bracelet from the hand of a 42-year-old woman in front of an eatery on Jalan Kerambit 4, Bandar Baru Sungai Udang, here at about 11am on May 28. The charge was framed under Section 392 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 14 years and a fine or whipping, upon conviction. Deputy Public Prosecutor Wardah Ishhar requested a sentence that reflected the seriousness of the offence. The accused, who was unrepresented, pleaded for leniency because she is five months pregnant and has four young children under the care of the Social Welfare Department. The court ordered her sentence to run concurrently from the date of her arrest on June 10. Meanwhile, in separate proceedings before Judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah, the accused's husband, Muhammad Aliff Aiman Zaini, 24, was sentenced to one year's imprisonment after pleading guilty to receiving and disposing the gold bracelet at a pawn shop on Jalan Kiara 1, Kawasan Perniagaan Kiara Semenyih, Hulu Langat in Selangor at about 4pm on May 28. Separately, the couple was also sentenced to five months' jail effective from the date of their arrest on June 4, after pleading guilty before Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani today to stealing various items belonging to a homestay that was valued at RM1,100. The offence was committed at about 1am in a residential unit at a service apartment in Kota Laksamana here on April 26. They were charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 10 years, a fine, and whipping for a second or subsequent offence, upon conviction.

Elderly man charged with posting offensive remarks against King on Facebook
SEPANG: An elderly man was charged in the Sessions Court here on Friday (July 4) with posting offensive remarks against His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, on Facebook in February. However, the charges were not read out to the 61-year-old man due to his health and hearing issues. Judge Ahmad Fuad Othman granted the accused permission to undergo a psychiatric assessment, with the case fixed for mention on Aug 15. Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) deputy public prosecutor Fadhli Ab Wahab and prosecuting officer Mohamad Azmir Mohd Razali appeared for the prosecution. A warrant of arrest was issued by the court on 20 June after the man failed to appear in court twice.
