Blackpink's Jennie Releases Music Video for "Like Jennie"
Blackpink member Jennie has debut solo album "Ruby" following a months-long rollout.
Shortly after the record's release, she also dropped a music video for the single "Like Jennie".
The song was co-produced by Diplo, and co-written by Jennie and Zico, who she previously worked with in 2024 on "Spot!".
The "Like Jennie" music video features the K-pop star as an astronaut, dressed in ruby red gear.
Aside from "Like Jennie", "Ruby" also includes the singles "Mantra", "Love Hangover" featuring Dominic Fike, "Zen" as well as "ExtraL" featuring Doechii. Other collaborators on "Ruby" include Dua Lipa on "Handlebars", FKJ on "Intro: Jane" and Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis on "Damn Right".
"Ruby" also marks Jennie's first body of work under her own label, Odd Atelier, under a partnership deal with Columbia Records.
The former was established in late 2023, shortly after YG Entertainment announced that she and her Blackpink bandmates would not be renewing their solo contracts with the company.
Jennie has become the third Blackpink member to release their debut studio album.
Rosé released "rosie" in December, Lisa dropped "Alter Ego" last month. Meanwhile, Jisoo dropped the mini-album "Amortage" in early-February.
The quartet are scheduled to embark on a group world tour later this year.

Ahmed Saad lights up summer with first part of new album - Music - Arts & Culture
Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad has released the first part of his new album, Beyestahbel, which features cheerful, summer-themed tracks that have already gained significant traction across streaming platforms, shedding light on his collaboration with Amr Saad and Ruby. Released on 16 July, the first part of the album features five tracks: the title song Beyestahbel, Akhouya (a collaboration with his brother, Amr Saad), Mekassarat, Tany (a duet with Ruby), and Batta. The second part will be released on 24 July and will include five additional tracks. The already released songs are filled with upbeat rhythms and playful tone, marking a continuation of Saad's signature style while offering a fresh, carefree sound that resonates with listeners during the peak of the season. Beyestahbel (loosely translated to Playing Dumb) is a light‑hearted, playful, and a bit tongue‑in‑cheek song that frames a character who "pretends to be silly." The song serves as a microcosm of the album's style: humorous, upbeat, experimental, and aimed squarely at summer listeners seeking energetic and relatable content. Another track, titled Akhouya (My Brother), features the singer's brother, actor Amr Saad. The lyrics emphasise siblings' emotional bonding, trust, and mutual support, especially in the face of adversity. Third in line comes Mekassarat, a song that conveys a message of saying "no" to perfectionism and stress, advocating for personal well-being and mental peace over societal pressure. It captures the carefree essence of summer and 'mental liberation'. The music video quickly rose to the top of YouTube, garnering almost 700,000 views in just four days and ranking #3 on the Charts for Trending music. In turn, the song titled Tany (Again) garnered almost 1 million views on YouTube, in large part due to Saad's collaboration with well-known singer Ruby. This is the second time the two singers have collaborated, after the success of their previous 2023 hit Ya Layaly. The song's lyrics are built around a playful, light-hearted concept of encountering someone "again" and questioning why they have returned now, especially after one has moved on. Similar to other songs from the album, Tany's music video relies on vibrant summer aesthetics—bold outfits, playful banter, and expressive choreography—matching the upbeat nature of the song. The final song in the set is titled Batta, a fun and comedic song whose lyrics describe a confident and captivating woman who stands out in any crowd, with her unique presence and the effect she has on those around her. All five songs from the first part of the Beyestahbel album garnered between 400,000 and 1 million views so far. Complementing the summer vibes, the songs blend traditional shaabi elements with contemporary pop and dance influences, with each being accompanied by a visually compelling music video. Directed by renowned filmmakers like Taha El-Tounsi and Ahmed Abdel-Wahid, the videos are characterised by their high production values and engaging narratives. Ahmed Saad The 43-year-old pop and shaabi singer came to the limelight in 2003, releasing several albums and many successful hits since then. His single Aleky Eyoun, released in 2022, has garnered over 300 million views on YouTube. Saad often collaborates with various Arab musicians, including Assala, Ruby, Hany Shaker, and Bahaa Sultan. Korea Culture Week 2025 Draws Great Turnout
Yara Sameh - Ali Abo Deshish The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Egypt brought the curtain down on Korea Culture Week 2025 with a spectacular closing ceremony held at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). It amis to enhance cultural and civilizational exchange between Egypt and South Korea. The annual event provided a unique platform that combined elements of Korean heritage and contemporary arts. The highlight of the evening was the Egyptian Preliminary Round of the renowned K-Pop World Festival, where rising talents competed for a chance to represent Egypt at the global finals in Changwon, South Korea. Egyptian performers captivated the audience with their dynamic, high-energy dance routines, expressing their deep admiration and passion for K-Pop idols. Out of 5 performance groups, the winners of the competition 1st Place The Groove, 2nd Place Hams Mohamed and 3rd Place Angster earned top honors and will be qualified for participation in the global finals, co-hosted in October by Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). The ceremony opened with captivating performances by graduates of the K-Pop and Gugak (traditional Korean music) academies, which were held earlier last month at the Academy of Arts. Their performances reflected the growing cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Egypt and Korea. Throughout the week, the KCC organized a rich program of events, including traditional and contemporary Korean music performances, a vibrant hanbok (traditional Korean attire) exhibition, hands-on workshops, and an engaging display of traditional Korean musical instruments. Visitors of all ages enjoyed hanbok try-on experiences and captured memorable moments in photos while wearing the colorful garments. The exhibition was curated by renowned Korean designer Kim Ji-Eun, who also led a popular workshop on hanbok accessory design that welcomed around 300 participants. Audiences also explored the 'Korean Culture Boxes' – a traveling showcase featuring miniature exhibits of Korean life, including traditional housing, hangeul (the Korean alphabet), and various cultural artifacts, offering an interactive cultural experience. Meanwhile, the KCC launched the K-Comics World Exhibition, marking Egypt as the first international stop. The exhibition features the globally acclaimed webtoon Hellbound, ahead of its next destinations in Canada, China, Hungary, and Japan. The exhibition will remain open to the public at the Korean Cultural Center in Cairo until the end of July.
