Arab Parliaments Endorse Bahrain Declaration Issued at 33rd Arab Summit
According to Bahrain News Agency, the parliaments commended Bahrain's efforts in supporting initiatives aimed at ending the war in Gaza, affirming its solidarity with the Palestinian people, safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests, delivering humanitarian aid, and advancing efforts toward a just and lasting peace in the region.
Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Head of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, said at the conclusion of the conference and its associated meetings that the unified Arab recognition of Bahrain's position is a testament to the Kingdom's ongoing commitment, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to supporting Arab causes and promoting peace, tolerance, and stability throughout the region.
He noted that Bahrain's parliamentary delegation contributed constructively during the conference sessions and committee meetings, presenting in-depth proposals to enhance the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union's financial stability and strengthen its regional and international influence. The delegation also submitted 11 recommendations regarding proposed amendments to the Union's Charter. Qarata affirmed that Bahrain's legislative authority remains committed to working alongside Arab parliaments to develop a forward-looking framework that strengthens joint parliamentary action.
The conference approved most of its agenda items, including the President's and Secretary-General's reports, the 2024 final accounts, and the proposed work programme and budget for 2025. The closing statement and associated resolutions were also adopted, reflecting a shared aspiration to promote stability and shape a better future for the Arab world. The Palestinian cause was reaffirmed as a central priority.

DNA tests later confirmed he was not related to many of them, triggering mass revocations. Another case involved a deceased individual born in 1940, under whose name 440 people had illegally acquired Kuwaiti nationality. These were revoked in one session during the committee's most recent meeting. In total, around 700 revocations were issued in the latest round, across four major files. Sixteen individuals were found to hold dual Gulf or Arab nationalities in violation of citizenship rules. The investigation, covering cases between 2000 and 2025, involved DNA analysis, record audits, and foreign government correspondence. Officials said revocations were based on verified documentation.

Thursday witnessed another Israeli strike on a church in Gaza, which killed three people and injured at least six others. Among the wounded was the parish priest. Hundreds of Palestinians were sheltering at Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City when the church roof was hit around 10:10am local time, church officials describe. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, who oversees the church, clarified in a statement to Vatican News, 'What we know for sure is that a tank, the IDF says by mistake, but we are not sure about this, they hit the Church directly, the Church of the Holy Family, the Latin Church.' He indicated that more victims might succumb to their injuries: 'There are four people seriously wounded, among these four, two are in very dramatic conditions and their lives are in serious danger,' Pizzaballa said. Pope Leo XIV has called for 'an immediate cease-fire' in Gaza in a statement. One regional Middle East Christian website, for example, summarizes, 'historically a Christian town, Ramallah has seen mass migration to the West as a result of Israeli occupation. It retains a significant Christian minority, determined to maintain a Christian presence in the land of their ancestors.'
