In comparison to other DC Comics superhero films, Superman (2025) has also exceeded the 2013 release Man of Steel, which had collected USD 11.5 million on the same day.
Superman is unstoppable. Released on July 11, the James Gunn-directed film has recorded a phenomenal business day on its first Tuesday, making a new record at the US box office. According to Forbes, the DC Comics film has now surpassed the first Tuesday collection of Scarlett Johannason's Jurassic Park: Rebirth with a collection of USD 17.1 million in the US after a good outing of USD 13 million on Monday.
With such a remarkable jump, the film had the biggest first Tuesday of 2025 in the United States. In contrast, Jurassic World: Rebirth grossed USD 15 million on its debut Tuesday. Going by the numbers, the David Corenswet-starrer superhero film minted USD 155 million at the domestic box office by the end of its first Tuesday. Superman's worldwide cume now stands at USD 270 million.
In comparison to other DC Comics superhero films, Superman (2025) has also exceeded the 2013 release Man of Steel, which had collected USD 11.5 million on the same day.
The director recently expressed his happiness over the film's success and wrote on a Threads post, 'I am grateful for your enthusiasm and wonderful thoughts over the last several days. We've seen a lot of 'Super' in Superman over the years, and I'm glad to have developed a film that focuses on the 'man' side of the equation – a nice guy who is always looking out for those in need. That it resonates so strongly with so many people throughout the world is a positive testimonial to the goodness and worth of human beings. Thank you."
Apart from David Corenswet, the film also features Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Milly Alcock in significant roles.
This new perspective on the superhero does not explore the traditional origin story. Instead, it follows a young Clark Kent as he strikes a delicate balance between his Kryptonian heritage and his human upbringing. The film delves into his early years, dealing with everything from a PR crisis and a personal identity crisis to his developing affections for Lois Lane, all while facing off against the menacing Lex Luthor.

Saiyaara Box Office: Absurdity continues with gravity defying Monday overseas

The absurd box office trend of Saiyaara continues overseas on Monday. The film matched and in some territories even exceeded its Saturday numbers, defying every conventional trend. The YRF musical grossed USD 675K (Rs. 5.75 crore) on its fourth day, taking the running total to a remarkable USD 2.65 million (Rs. 22.75 crore). Normally, you would see a 60-70 per cent drop on Monday from Sunday, but here the Monday numbers are higher than Saturday. This kind of hold is unheard of but then so was the jump, the film saw on Sunday a day before. The Monday numbers are similar to those of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, when the weekend was less than half. In fact, in most of the territories, Saiyaara was higher than RARKPK, except for the United States, where Rocky Rani leads. RARKPK is the film with the best trending internationally in recent memory. To outdo that, in this manner, is downright preposterous. It wasn't as if just some markets showcased this trend; it's consistent across the board. To give out some specifics on Monday. Australia registered its best day of the run on Monday with AUD 75K, surpassing Sunday. The UK was at GBP 77K, 25 per cent above Saturday and just 15 per cent shy of Sunday. North America matched Saturday, while the Middle East, a region which sees sharp weekday drops, held firmly with Monday equaling Saturday. The film has the best pre-sales of its run on Tuesday, which is discount day in several markets. It is possible that business go on the Sunday level today, it will most certainly in terms of tix sold. The madness won't stop just there as there is already strong spillover for Wednesday and Thursday in advance sales at the key locations. With this sort of trend, its tough to say how high the film can go. No one minds the uncertainity, though. The film will likely be sitting at USD 4.50 million plus at the end of the first week. The second weekend should go higher than the first, though release of Fantastic Four may lead to showcasing issues in some of the markets. It's safe to say that the film will go over the USD 10 million mark. How much higher? That's a question the second week will answer, but for now, nothing can be ruled out.

F1 Worldwide Collection: Brad Pitt's Racing Film Close To USD 500 Million Mark

Last Updated: The film has now surpassed the overall collection of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's A Star is Born, Matt Damon's The Bourne Ultimatum and Keanu Reeves' John Wick: Chapter 4. F1, the Brad Pitt-starrer racing film, is unstoppable at the box office. Helmed by Joseph Kosinski, the film, released on June 27, inches close to the USD 500 Million mark at the global box office after its third week. According to Collider, F1 has now grossed a total of USD 460 million worldwide with USD 155 million domestically and another USD 307 million from overseas markets. With such big numbers, the film has now surpassed the overall collection of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's A Star is Born, Matt Damon's The Bourne Ultimatum and Keanu Reeves' John Wick: Chapter 4, which concluded its global run with USD 447 million. As far as the India collection is concerned, according to the film opened to a decent Rs 5.25 crore net on day 1, including early shows. It currently stands at a Rs 80 crore net in India now, and is still going strong in week 4. Apart from Pitt, the film also features an ensemble cast including Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Lewis Hamilton and Simone Ashley among others. The film follows the story of Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver who makes a comeback to the sport. He joins the fictional APXGP team as a mentor to a young, promising driver, Joshua Pearce. The film explores themes of legacy, mentorship and the intense world of Formula One racing, both on and off the track. F1 is now also Apple's highest-grossing film to date, leaving behind Killers of the Flower Moon (USD 158m), Napoleon (USD 221m) and Argylle (USD 96m). The strong word of mouth from the audience has resulted positively for the makers of F1 despite tough competition with films like Scarlett Johansson's Jurassic Park: Rebirth and David Corenswet's Superman. In the coming week, the competition is expected to get more intense with Pedro Pascal's The Fantastic Four: First Steps set to be released in theatres on July 25. Looking at the film's massive collection, speculations around the F1 sequel are surfacing online. However, an official announcement from the makers is still awaited. Pratyusha Banerjee Had Not Left Balika Vadhu On A Good Note: 'There Were Differences'

Last Updated: Pratyusha Banerjee was found dead on April 1, 2016. Since then, her former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has been making several allegations. Pratyusha Banerjee rose to fame after she played the role of Anandi in the popular show Balika Vadhu. However, she left the show in March 2013. The actress then passed away in 2016, allegedly by suicide and ever since, her former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has made several allegations. Now, Singh has claimed Pratyusha had not left Balika Vadhu on a good note. In a recent interview, the late actress' ex-boyfriend argued that Pratyusha quit Balika Vadhu due to 'creative differences" with the makers. Not just this, he also accused the makers of the popular show of non-payment. 'She hadn't left Balika Vadhu on a good note either. So obviously, production houses won't call you back. She told me there were creative differences with the team, too much interference from her side, they said. And then there was a payment issue with DJs. Her payment had been stuck for six months, so maybe that led to more problems. These things happen in production. Plus, her expenses were so high, her father's and mother's too, that she could never really stop working. Like we discussed earlier, they had loans to repay, so she had to keep earning. But when payments didn't come on time, she would get frustrated, and relationships in the industry would spoil. She'd call again and again, asking for her money," Singh told Bollywood Bubble. Pratyusha Banerjee died on April 1, 2016, allegedly by suicide. Following her death, her parents filed a complaint against Rahul Singh. He was booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt). In 2023, a sessions court in Mumbai rejected Singh's discharge plea. In the plea, he claimed that he was falsely implicated in the case on account of 'personal vendetta". However, the court mentioned that prima facie it was clear that 'physical, emotional and financial harassment and exploitation" by Rahul landed the Balika Vadhu actress in depression.
