Anne Hathaway Goes Makeup-Free in Rare Selfie Teasing 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

Anne Hathaway went makeup-free while wearing a cerulean blue sweater to tease The Devil Wears Prada 2 filming.
The sweater is a callback to an iconic scene in the original movie, in which Hathaway's character, Andy Sachs, gets schooled by Meryl Streep's character, Miranda Priestly.
Hathaway has referenced this scene before, including at the 2024 SAG Awards.Gird your loins, because filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially underway. And, being the icon that she is, Anne Hathaway teased the film's production with a cheeky callback to the original movie.
Hathaway took to TikTok to share a silly video in which she brushes her teeth while going make-up free. The 42-year-old actress shows off her glowy bare face, while her chestnut-colored locks are down and natural, tousled about with a side-part.
The Princess Diaries actress is clad in a blue sweater, except it's not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean. The lumpy blue sweater features a ribbed neckline and matching cuffs; Hathaway paired it with a simple gold chain necklace.
"Heading to werk #dwp2," Hathaway captioned the flick, raising her eyebrows at the camera.
Fans will remember the legendary cerulean blue sweater scene from the 2006 film, in which icy Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) schools Andy Sachs (played by Hathaway) after she laughs at two belts she claims "look exactly the same."
This is not the first time Hathaway has referenced the memorable moment. At the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in February 2024, she, Streep, and Emily Blunt had a DWP reunion on stage. For the occasion, Hathaway stunned in a cerulean blue gown that featured a plunging neckline, off-the-shoulder design, wide built-in belt with a large buckle, small cutout, soaring leg slit, and floor-grazing skirt.
It appears Hathaway went straight from her luxe marble bathroom to the movie set, as she was spotted filming in New York City this morning. She changed out of her sweater and into a trendy light-wash denim maxiskirt, crispy-white tank top, black vest, chunky black Gucci sandals, and black rectangle shades.
Her shiny tresses were styled in voluminous, bouncy curls with a middle part, and she glammed up with sun-kissed makeup.

Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep spotted across New York City as 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' filming continues: Everything we know about the high-fashion sequel

The actresses have already stepped out in an array of stylish looks since production began at the end of June. It's been nearly a month since 20th Century Studios announced that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially underway. Since the distribution company's Instagram announcement on June 30, the sequel appears to have picked up some serious momentum. Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, the film's stars, have been spotted all over New York City chicly dressed in an array of coveted designer clothes. The Devil Wears Prada 2 picks up nearly 20 years after the original and will see Hathaway and Streep reprise their iconic roles. The original 2006 film, based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger, follows the career trajectory of aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway), who gets the opportunity to work in fashion at the prestigious Runway magazine as an assistant to Miranda Priestly (Streep), the magazine's cutthroat editor in chief. She's soon thrust into the fast-paced world of high fashion, and eventually goes from being a sartorial disaster to dressing in coveted designer garments. Streep's character is famously modeled after Vogue's Anna Wintour, who recently stepped down as the magazine's editor in chief. The film, which grossed $326 million at the box office worldwide, earned Streep an Academy Award nomination. Here's everything we know (so far) about The Devil Wears Prada 2. 👠 What's 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' about? The sequel will focus on Priestly as she deals with the changing tides in fashion journalism and the decline of traditional magazine publishing. The indomitable editor will be forced to confront former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), a now ultra-successful executive for a luxury group with financing that could determine the future of Runway magazine. What's the movie's release date? The Devil Wears Prada 2 will hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Are the original cast and crew returning? Hathaway and Streep, along with Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Tibor Feldman, are set to reprise their roles in the sequel, according to Variety. Details surrounding the Devil Wears Prada sequel were first reported by Deadline in 2024. Sources told the outlet that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend cocreator Aline Brosh McKenna had been tapped to write the film's sequel, which was in early development at Disney at the time. David Frankel, the original film's director, and Wendy Finerman, the original film's producer, were also reportedly in talks to return. Are there any new cast members joining? Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet and Kenneth Branagh, who will portray the husband of Streep's character, have all been added to the cast, according to Variety. The outlet also reported that Conrad Ricamora, Helen J. Shen and Caleb Hearon are adding to the fashionable call sheet. Also joining the cast is former Bridgerton star Simone Ashley, along with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom and the show's cocreator Patrick Brammall, per Deadline. Is the sequel being filmed in New York too? Yes! Last week, around the time filming began, New Yorkers came across a sign notifying them of filming in Midtown Manhattan. 'Cerulean' was listed as the project name — a reference to the famous monologue Streep's Priestly gives Sachs in the original film. Since then, photos of Hathaway, Streep and other of the film's stars have been snapped on the streets of Manhattan in an array of high-fashion garments, from Jean Paul Gaultier to Coach. Hathaway in character as Sachs, for instance, was recently spotted in a chic-but-casual Ralph Lauren Purple Label blazer, light-washed and loose-fit denim, snakeskin-printed boots and a statement Valentino Nellcôte bag. As recently as Monday morning, Hathaway was seen in a handful of outfits — a cropped white button-up and pleated green skirt; a textured red vest over a navy striped maxi dress; and a casual navy ensemble complete with a pinstripe jacket and oversize shades. Has the cast said anything about the film? Hathaway has been sharing exclusive looks at filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 on her social media accounts. Since teasing the return of Sachs with a stylish Instagram post on July 21, Hathaway has shared two more reels: one of her wearing a colorful, patchwork Gabriela Hearst design as Sachs, and the other of her explaining the significance behind a certain pair of eyeglasses. Hathaway previously voiced skepticism about The Devil Wears Prada 2 ever making it across the finish line. 'We all love each other and if somebody could come up with a way to do it, I think we'd all be crazy not to," she told V Magazine in 2024. "But there's a huge difference in the world now with technology, and one of the things about that particular story is it was about producing a physical object. Now with so much being digital, it would just be very different.' Solve the daily Crossword

Paris Hilton's $63M mansion buy led US home sales in June

Paris Hilton and her husband led the US real estate market in June with their pricey purchase of Mark Wahlberg's former megamansion. The mammoth Beverly Hills estate cost Hilton and her venture capitalist husband, Carter Reum, a cool $63 million. Their purchase topped out Redfin's top 10 list of the country's most expensive home sales, as did five other California-based transactions. Agents told CNBC the recent ranking reflects a pattern of luxury real estate regaining momentum in fire-ravaged Los Angeles. Advertisement 9 Paris Hilton, pictured in June. Paul Barnaby Advertisement Indeed, Hilton and Reum, who share two young children, lost their $8.4 million oceanfront Malibu home to the Palisades Fire — one of several that raged through the state in January. Hilton was candid about the loss in a post to her millions of Instagram followers. 'Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,' the heiress and influencer wrote. The sheer scale of her family's new home makes its eye-watering $63 million price a little more understandable. 9 A sun-lit dining room. A main house and a guesthouse include a collective 12 bedrooms — as well as a wine and cigar cellar, a home theater and staff quarters. Advertisement The mansion's sellers made a tidy profit from the deal, CNBC reported, even accounting for Los Angeles' hefty mansion tax. Their success makes Mark Wahlberg's $55 million sale of the home in 2023 look sadly premature. Hilton and Reum's purchase is currently the fifth priciest home sale of 2025, according to Redfin. Nicole Plaxen, an agent with the Beverly Hills Estates, told CNBC that LA's luxury market is being driven by displaced homeowners like Hilton. Plaxen also noted a return in foreign buyers, especially from China. 9 The Palisades Fire claimed modest starter homes and A-lister mansions alike. London Entertainment for NY Post 9 Hilton closed on the home five months after losing her family's Malibu beach house. Paul Barnaby The other 50% of Redfin's chart-topping June sales took place elsewhere: Three in coastal Florida, one in Manhattan and another on Lake Tahoe's Nevada side. All 10 sold for more than $30 million. New York's appearance in the June rankings was credited to the sale of a 50-foot-wide mansion in Midtown Manhattan. The sprawling 22-bedroom residence just off Fifth Avenue was built for a cousin of J.P. Morgan during the city's Gilded Age. The seller, previously reported at real estate developer Orin Wilf, cinched a $38.2 million deal on the property. Neither Wilf's sale nor Hilton's purchase comes even close to the year's most expensive deal so far. That superlative belongs squarely with the $225 million sale of three adjacent beachfront properties in Naples, Florida. The April transaction marked the second-highest home sale ever in the US, trailing Ken Griffin's $238 million penthouse purchase at 220 Central Park South in early 2019.
