Katie and Peter's toxic relationship and why they can't be in same room

Daily Mirror5 days ago

Katie Price and Peter Andre were once the golden couple of showbiz, with everybody enchanted by their romance, but things later turned ugly and the pair no longer speak
Katie Price and Peter Andre once had it all – the glamour, the loved-up life, but they now cannot stomach one another. Millions were captivated by their romance after they met on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, with the pair tying the knot just one year later.
At the time, Katie was known as her glamour modelling alter ego, Jordan, and made it no secret that she loved being in front of the camera. Their wedding was widely documented on their own reality shows as well as magazine deals after they said "I do" at the stunning Highclere Castle.

After marrying, Katie gave birth to their first child together, Junior, before welcoming their daughter, Princess Tiaamii, two years later. Price and Andre continued their reign as one of the most in-demand couples in showbiz, with their show, Katie and Peter, appearing on screens since their meeting in 2004.

They attended dozens of red carpet events together and had the world at their feet. Although they were flooded with magazine and TV offers, Katie has also revealed that she gained the most financially from their deals. Speaking on Louis Theroux's podcast, she explained that due to her high profile, Pete had a "lucky day." She told the broadcaster: "I was already established. He'd met me, and it was his lucky day. So we always had separate contracts. There's no way I'm splitting half and half, no thanks." She also claimed that she "made" Peter due to him having "a song."
But after four years of marriage, the couple announced in May 2009 that they had decided to separate. Katie found out the news had been made public after Peter issued a damning statement, ending their marriage.
Their divorce was finalised in September of the same year. So, where did it all go wrong for the once golden couple, and how is their relationship past the point of being amicable? Despite sharing two children, Katie and Peter no longer speak at all. Katie recently revealed that the pair don't even bat an eyelid at one another and shed light on the reason behind their divorce.
Katie claimed Peter believed that she was having an affair with her dressage rider, Andrew Gould, which she has strongly denied. Speaking on Paul C Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, the model and TV personality said: "We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I've never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.
"But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying 'That's it. I've had enough. I've had enough.'" Katie later revealed that she told Peter to divorce her due to the strain the doubts had on their relationship. She was on her way to the Maldives with her three children when she discovered their split had been made public.

"That day, I'm at the airport, it's all on Sky News, it wasn't mutual at all," she said. She added: "And then I released a statement saying I don't want to split with Pete, it's Pete that's splitting with me. Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.
"It's all through lawyers. I've never sat down with him, we probably would've sorted it out but we were kept apart." Peter later told the Daily Star he was "absolutely gutted" that Katie had gone on holiday to the Maldives with their children, admitting it was "destroying" him.

But while fans saw them frequently argue on their reality shows, Katie admitted Pete was the love of her life. At the time of their split, she said: "Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together, and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life.
"This is not what I want, and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete." Despite their arguments, Katie has insisted that she did share happy times with the singer-turned-actor.

Appearing on Katherine Ryan's What's My Age Again? podcast, Katie explained that she had told their daughter Princess that she and Pete "had a laugh and bantered together" throughout their relationship. However, she explained that while she and Peter went everywhere as a family, this isn't the case for Pete and his second wife, Dr Emily.
Katie, however, is glad Pete has found love again. She said: "I'm glad he's with Emily. She seems like a proper lady. I think it'd be weird if he went for someone like me." However, Pete wasn't happy with Katie speaking about his relationship. A source told us that Pete isn't happy about being dragged into what he considers to be "ancient history" and is desperate for it to stop.
"Peter moved on a long time ago and is fed up of her talking about him because it was such a long time ago that they split," said the source. "It has a knock-on effect on his family, especially Emily. He knew their marriage was over when they split up 16 years ago, and he just wants her to leave it in the past, too. He's very happy with his life."
Earlier this week, Pete spoke about toxicity between ex-partners after Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson came face-to-face at Soccer Aid. Louis is dating Sam's ex-girlfriend, reality star Zara McDermott. "I think people will always try to make a fuss about dramas with exes, but we don't know what happened," Pete said.

Britain's Got Talent star's cause of death confirmed after sad death

Dancer Chantel Bellew was a contestant on Britain's Got Talent in 2019 where she delighted the judges and audiences with her uplifting routines. She passed away in March this year aged 34. The cause of death of Britain's Got Talent star Chantel Bellew has been revealed three months after her sudden death. The late dancer passed away in March at the age of 34. Chantel found fame as a dancer who auditioned for season 13 of ITV's Britain's Got Talent in 2019 when she was 28 at the time. While on the show, she delighted hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly with her cheeky dance routines. ‌ After wowing in her audition, she advanced to the quarter finals - however, that season was ultimately won by singer Colin Thackery. In March it was revealed that Chantel had died after being rushed to hospital just weeks after her 34th birthday. Following an inquest into her death at Bolton Coroners' Court, it has been ruled that she took her own life and her death was ruled as suicide. ‌ The Manchester Evening News reported the cause of her death on Saturday. They quoted Chantel's mother, Jill Dawson described her as a "beautiful daughter" and "model student". It was noted that the inquest was told Chantel suffered with mental health problems for "quite some time". Assistant coroner John Pollard is quoted explaining that the tap dance star was in a "loving relationship" with wife Genna Timewell, but added: "Despite this she remained to some extent unsettled and unsure of herself." Her final moments were also documented during the hearing and it was reported she overdosed on painkillers on 17 March. The hearing was told that Gemma returned home at approximately 2pm and assumed no one was at home. The inquest heard that Gemma felt something "wasn't right" and that she was "really worried". She called her father-in-law, who said Chantel was not with him. She then texted Chantel who replied stating: "I'm good, I'm grand." Gemma then suggested they go to Wales for the weekend to "get away" and "leave it all behind". ‌ The inquest then heard how Gemma heard a noise in the attic and then saw Chantel "stumbling down the stairs" and "walking very unsteadily and looking disorientated". After calling 999 and being told it would be 40 minutes for an ambulance, Gemma drove Chantel to hospital - tragically she died over a week later on 22 March. Chantel's loved ones later set up a fundraising page to cover the cost of her funeral, writing: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Chantel, as we navigate through this incredibly difficult time, we want to honour her life and the beautiful impact she had on everyone who knew her." ‌ The statement on GoFundMe continued: "Chantel was more than a daughter, wife, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She was a kind, loving, and passionate spirit who brought joy and laughter to so many. "Chantel was a talent second to none who was the life and soul of every party, I am sure you will agree she was a character that nobody will ever forget. As Chantel´s friends, we would like to help the family give Chantel the showbiz farewell she deserves." As well as performing on BGT, Chantel worked in a supermarket before becoming a teaching assistant.
