Prince William 'goes into dad mode' as he issues order to Prince Louis

In a new Channel 5 documentary, a forensic lip reader weighed in on a sweet family moment captured at Trooping the Colour, one that saw William go into "dad mode"
Prince William went into "dad mode" as he issued an instruction to his children at the King's official birthday celebrations, it has been claimed. In a new Channel 5 documentary, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, which aired last night, a forensic lip reader weighed in on a sweet family moment captured at Trooping the Colour last year.

On Saturday, June 14, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, joined King Charles and Queen Camilla on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch a flypast by the Red Arrows.

However, Lip reader Nicola Hickling detailed how last year, William issued a fatherly instruction to his children as they watched the spectacle. Yet, it seems that George was struck by something a bit closer to Earth.

According to Nicola, William tells his children: "Eyes up to the sky." After this, all three of them look up, and then George turns to his father and says: "The crowd is so loud."
She added that a gesture made by Louis was him telling his family that he'd seen a propeller, with George responding by asking: "Where?" Afterwards, Kate asked her youngest: 'Wow, did you enjoy that?"

Cristo Foufas, a royal analyst, said: "Kate and William immediately go into mum and dad mode then. 'Can you see it? Oh, they're coming around again', you know, 'Did you enjoy it?' All of those sorts of things they're saying to make it a special moment for their children."
He claimed that the couple must have seen a "million flypasts" and that the displays were likely as "dull as ditch water" to them by now, but William and Kate weren't "letting that get to them".
Cristo added that the future King and Queen were "making themselves enthusiastic" about it and attempting to make the proceedings "really special" for their children.

Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the UK sovereign for more than 260 years. Each year, more than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians unite for the proceedings.
During this year's event, which featured the usual pageantry, Charles and Camilla rode in a carriage as part of a military procession down the Mall and into Horse Guards Parade, reports the BBC.
At the request of Charles, the Royals wore black armbands as a mark of respect to the victims of the Air India crash, which tragically led to the deaths of 241 passengers and crew and at least eight people on the ground.
For 2025, the Red Arrows used a greener fuel, which included a sustainable aviation fuel and a biofuel that delivered the iconic trail. The broadcaster also suggested that this would have likely gone down well with Charles, a passionate environmental advocate.

Prince Andrew's daily routine at Royal Lodge 'revealed' as he leads life 'below the radar'

Royal experts have provided some insight into Prince Andrew's daily routine inside Royal Lodge where he lives in the huge mansion alongside his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson A new documentary about Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson provided some insight into how the scandal-hit Duke of York spends his days. ‌ Andrew, the third child of the late Queen Elizabeth, has been involved in various scandals in recent years, from his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein to allegations of sexual impropriety. The number of controversies resulted in him resigning from all public roles in May 2020 which begs the question – how does the 65-year-old now spend his daily life? ‌ Royal experts claimed to have some of those answers and they made the revelations in an upcoming Channel 5 documentary called Fergie, Andrew & the Scandal of SouthYork. ‌ We know for sure that Andrew lives in Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion, with his former wife Fergie, despite the pair divorcing in 1996. And speaking about the unusual set up, and giving insight into the Duke's lifestyle, Richard Kay, royal commentator for the Daily Mail, claimed on the programme: 'What does he do all day? Well he doesn't do very much. He is having to lead a life very much below the radar.' ‌ Royal expert Jennie Bond then provided more detail and claimed: 'He will sit at the big screen and watch the planes taking off and landing at airports… ehm, well, everyone to their own choice.' Not holding back, another royal expert, Sarah Hewson, concluded the segment with the words: 'Sarah Ferguson has described her former husband as a sad man and it is a very sad existence that he now leads.' The documentary itself looks into the lives of Andrew and Sarah before they moved into Royal Lodge. They focus on the controversial Sunninghill Park in Berkshire which was once the home of the couple and their daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. ‌ The pair got married at Westminster Palace 39 years ago this month and despite their eventual separation, they continue to support each other through troubling times. Fergie spoke to Good Morning America in 2021 where she reflected on her wedding day with remarkable fondness. ‌ She gushed: 'He is a great man and [our wedding day] was the best day of my life. I would do it all over again because he was a very good-looking sailor, but I fell in love with him and I think love conquers all.' They announced their shock split in 1992 before officially divorcing four years later. However, they co-parented their daughters, tried to carry on normally, and supported each other at big family events. The Duchess of York spoke to the Sunday Times in 2021 about why she continues to live with him in Royal Lodge. She said: 'I travel a lot and I've always been able to make wherever I am home. 'If I am staying in a hotel I have the same family photographs and scented candles around me. When I'm in the UK I'm lucky enough to stay at Royal Lodge. I wouldn't call it my home as that would be presumptuous.'

'I annoyed Queen Elizabeth II's family and caused uproar at Buckingham Palace'

When Queen Elizabeth II was about to turn 70, Prince Edward and other family members planned a lavish birthday surprise - but Buckingham Palace was upset as plans were leaked A journalist has today told how he annoyed Prince Philip when he unwittingly "ruined" Queen Elizabeth II's birthday surprise. ‌ Richard Kay was unaware the monarch did not yet know about designs for her 70th birthday, and so his story was published in his newspaper. It caused "uproar at Buckingham Palace" as royals, including Prince Edward and Prince Philip, had prepared a boat trip along the River Thames to the famous Waterside Inn at Bray, Berkshire, for the Queen to enjoy a meal. ‌ "I was accused of spoiling a surprise party, and told that the Queen, because of the very nature of her role, got very few unexpected treats and I had ruined one... There was uproar at Buckingham Palace," Mr Kay wrote. ‌ When the journalist later reported on one of Her Majesty's overseas tours, during which she hosted a garden party, Prince Philip spotted him talking to a group of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting. Philip, it is understood, then told them off for talking to "that bloody man". 'Prince Harry must be welcomed back to royal fold after Meghan rubbed salt in wounds' ‌ Mr Kay, who recalls the "boat episode" in today's edition of the Daily Mail, was quietly asked to avoid the Queen at the garden party as she was still upset about the story. She rarely had surprises for her birthday due to the nature of her role and so, in 1996, her family had hoped to pull out all the stops for her big day. But when royal reporter Mr Kay became aware of the plans, he prepared a story for the Daily Mail as protocol for his role. He was not conscious Her Majesty did not yet know anything of the treats. Both Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were accused of leaking the story to Mr Kay - but he insists they were blameless. Queen Elizabeth II would usually head to the luxurious Ritz Hotel in the heart of London for supper on her birthday. Surprises like the one Philip and Edward had planned were rare due to the nature of the monarch's work. The monarch had two birthdays - an official one in June as well as her own in April - as was the famous historic tradition. Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born on April 21, 1926, to The Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and The Queen Mother) and while she never expected to come to the throne, she has carried on one of the monarch's most famous annual celebrations. The tradition dates all the way back to King George II in 1748, who combined the annual Trooping the Colour with his birthday celebrations, even though he was born in November.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Is godfather of hospitality MasterChef's next judge?

While sacked MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode are due to appear in a new series filmed last year, a colourful character is being lined up as a successor. I hear that restaurateur and hotelier Robert Walton, often called the 'godfather of hospitality', has held talks about joining the crisis-hit BBC cookery series. Restaurant critic Grace Dent was named as Wallace's successor last December after the former greengrocer stepped down following several historical allegations of inappropriate behaviour made about him. 'Robert is in talks for being appointed the MasterChef judge position with Dent,' a source tells me. 'He is a wild card but the most qualified for the job. 'They like the idea of Robert and Grace together. They are playing around with pairs, and they are looking for credibility. It would make a refreshing change to have someone who is an authority on food and hospitality, who is highly decorated and respected, judging for MasterChef.' Walton, 69, who is married to Australian fashion designer Donna Ida Thornton, has already received the royal seal of approval, having been awarded an MBE in 2007 by then Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace for services to hospitality. This week, Walton was honoured again at the House of Lords, where he won the British Icon of Hospitality Award at the Arabreneurs Gala Dinner. 'I'm upset with what's happened to MasterChef and the way everything has come out,' he tells me. 'It's an institution, and it needs to carry on. If someone wants me to do it, I'm super-happy to put my name forward and can get the job done.' Previously touted to replace Torode were Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt and Andi Oliver, who hosts Great British Menu. Princess Anne's woes with Wills Holidays can wait for hard-working Princess Anne, who held yet another investiture on behalf of her brother, King Charles, at Windsor Castle on Tuesday. Around 30 are held each year, at which people who've been awarded an honour receive their gong from the King, 76, Anne, who turns 75 next month, or Prince William, 43, who lives at Windsor. A 'source close to Anne' was quoted in The Sunday Times as saying: 'She's still doing most of the investitures [at Windsor] even though William lives there. It annoys her.' Her nephew is currently on holiday abroad with his family. Pick up after your own pooches, says Lucrezia SHE is known for her calmness when delivering bulletins, but ITV News presenter Lucrezia Millarini is a pugnacious type off screen. The Celebrity Mastermind winner, 49, reveals that she confronts fellow dog owners who fail to clean up after their pets. 'I have done this a few times,' she tells me at the premiere of the documentary Dogspiracy. 'Cleaning up after your dog is the right and proper thing to do.' Lucrezia, who has a lhasa apso named Milo, pictured above, says owners who let their dogs leave a mess are 'often aggressive'. She adds: 'It's generally men, they often come back at you with a four-letter word.' Ozzy Osbourne died at home on Tuesday at the age of 76, 'with his family and surrounded by love'. The Black Sabbath star's daughter, Kelly, told me earlier this month he was happy being back in his native Britain but frustrated to be separated from his animals. 'He loves the house, but he's just waiting for the dogs to get here,' she said. Fortunately, I hear his beloved dogs did arrive before his death. They played a big part in Ozzy's TV series The Osbournes. The star once shared a video of his late pomeranian Rocky 'headbanging' to his song Crazy Train. Apinall's ex is expecting miracle baby When I disclosed in 2022 that casino and wildlife park heir Damian Aspinall had separated from his second wife, Victoria, pictured left, friends pointed out that she had always made it clear that she wanted children with him. Now, she has revealed that it was her struggle to conceive that ended their marriage. And she is pregnant with a 'miracle baby' by an unnamed man. 'I was utterly shocked when I found out I was pregnant earlier this year,' admits the former Burberry executive, 39. 'For seven years, my husband and I fought for this dream: multiple rounds of IVF, miscarriages, and an endless hope that slowly eroded. 'It cost me everything I once loved: my marriage, my home, my career, my sense of self. It took two and a half years to grieve, to rebuild, to finally accept that motherhood might never be part of my story.' Victoria does not seem to be in a relationship with the father, saying: 'Everything I had dreamed of sharing with someone was no longer my reality. Deciding to keep this baby has been the bravest choice of my life.' ITV has made much of the danger faced by participants in its much-hyped series, Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters, in which stars including Countdown's Rachel Riley and Call The Midwife actress Helen George swim with the fearsome predators. One of the stars, Sir Lenny Henry, appears, however, to have revealed the truth about the 'reality' programme. 'We survived,' says the actor and comedian, 66. 'I was aware that ITV don't want anybody of a celebrity nature to be eaten on television.'
