Royal whispers laid bare by lip readers - Meghan's final straw to King Charles's wedding remark

Lip readers examined the words exchanged by the Royal Family in some of their most high-profile moments in a new documentary - revealing new insights into the family's dynamics Existing inside the royal spotlight means that for the House of Windsor, millions of eyes are trained upon them at every moment they appear in public. ‌ This is particularly true at the Royal Family's most high-profile events - like royal weddings, King Charles ' Coronation, or Trooping the Colour. Whilst conducting engagements like these, the Windsors are on official duty, but they are still a family, and every so often, they are caught having a candid conversation or moment on camera. ‌ A new Channel 5 documentary featuring insight from expert lip readers has revealed some snippets of conversations the senior royals have had in public, bringing new insight into their relationships. Lip readers are something that the royals have to be wary of, so much so, that guests at Harry and Meghan's wedding back in 2018 were even warned to cover their mouths when they were speaking to one another. ‌ Prince Harry 'whispered brutal question in Eugenie's ear' at event without Meghan Meghan Markle 'pushed Harry to take advantage' over Megxit 'years before' family told "Ladies and gentlemen, please be careful what you are saying to each other because the world can lip read," photographer Alexi Lubomirski has since revealed guards told the guests, adding: "As you walk in, you see a lot of people sort of talking like don't know what you're talking about, but everyone on these cameras is watching and lip-reading." The new documentary, entitled Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, dropped some bombshells about the internal dynamics of the Royal Family, and included some seriously sweet moments too. ‌ Harry and Meghan bombshell When Harry and Meghan decided to quit royal life and move across the pond, it sent shockwaves throughout the UK, but Harry has since admitted that the couple's unhappiness inside the monarchy had been brewing for a long time. At a remembrance service in 2018 - only a few months after the pair's star-studded royal wedding in Windsor, the couple shared a conversation before the service began that seemed to potentially reference their desire to leave life as working royals behind. ‌ Lip reading expert Nicola Hickling decoded the conversation for the programme, as she claimed Meghan instructed Harry to 'take advantage of the situation', before she turned to look around at the sea of royals that surrounded them. "She says Harry responded to her comment by asking: 'Today?', as Meghan added: 'Do it tonight.' Then, Harry poses a question to Meghan, asking: "You do realise that this is the end?" as Meghan responds: "Yeah, I do know" before looking away again. The experts featured in the documentary put forward that this could have been a reference to the couple's desire to leave, but whilst that isn't confirmed, it's clear it was a serious conversation. ‌ Prince Harry out in the cold In the approach to King Charles and Queen Camilla's Coronation, a huge amount of interest was generated about whether or not Harry and Meghan would be there. In the end, Harry came to the historic day solo - but the lip readers captured a moment between the Duke and his cousin Princess Eugenie, with whom he is close, that indicated he wasn't particularly happy with the icy reception that had met him at the event. It came only months after the release of his bombshell memoir Spare, that saw him make accusations about his relatives, and lifted the lid on the Windsor's family dysfunction. ‌ "I've spent five hours with my dad in his office and not a friendly text from either," he said to Eugenie, with the lip reading experts claiming he said next, "Why hasn't anybody contacted me?" Eugenie responded with a quick and cautious but seemingly sympathetic smile. Charles' emotional moment After being diagnosed with cancer not long into his reign, Charles was forced to take some time away from "public-facing" engagements and limit his schedule based on how he was feeling physically. ‌ However, he was never going to miss Trooping the Colour, one of the set piece events of the Royal Family's year. In 2024, he did ride in a carriage however, as an adaptation, where he was spotted by the documentary's lip readers appearing to have an emotional moment with his wife Camilla. "Are you absolutely certain?" Camilla said to Charles, they claimed, before the monarch replied, "I'll get through today, it makes me feel emotional, I don't know why". William and Kate's sweet parenting moments A couple of adorable parenting moments were revealed in the new documentary, showing Kate and William trying to balance the formal nature of their royal duties, whilst still engaging with their children normally. ‌ In one moment, when Prince George was starting his very first day of school, William was spotted by the lip readers calmly and carefully explaining to his eldest son - who was at the time very young and visibly nervous, what was going on. The lip readers claimed that William told George that the photographers were going to take his photo because it was his first day, and as the father and son held hands and approached his new teacher, he told George they would "shake the teacher's hand" when they met her. ‌ In another seriously sweet moment, William was pointed out to have told his children "Eyes to the skies" whilst the senior royals were gathered on Buckingham Palace balcony to watch a flypast, as a gentle reminder to pay attention to what was going on, after George said to his parents, "the crowd is so loud". At the end of the RAF display, Kate said to Prince Louis, "Wow, wow, did you enjoy that?". Kate likes a man in uniform Before Kate had officially joined the Royal Family, she was still a staple presence at important moments for Prince William, after the pair fell in love as students at the University of St Andrews and had been in a long-term relationship. ‌ At his passing out parade at Sandhurst, Kate was spotted by the lip readers making a joking comment to her pals about enjoying seeing her other half in his formal military attire. "I love the uniform, it's so sexy," Kate said, the lip readers claimed, before her friends all killed themselves laughing. Harry and William's brotherly banter Whilst William and Harry are now known to have a pretty icy relationship, they once seemed inseparable to the public - and one moment picked up on in the new documentary showed just how far their dynamic has disintegrated. ‌ At their father's wedding to their stepmother Camilla in 2005, William found himself having something of a bad hair day. His locks were all over the place during the windy day, and he turned to his younger brother and said that his "hair is a right mess" according to the lip readers. Harry, seemingly noticing for the first time, replied, "Whoa" before joking around a bit at his brother's expense and using his hands to show just how big William's hair had become, to which William replied, "Don't" with a smile. ‌ Royals unimpressed with Camilla's feather headpiece At her wedding to Charles, Camilla opted for an elegant feather headpiece - but it didn't go down too well with the other royals, including Charles himself, the lip readers claimed. Camilla, after the pair had tied the knot, said to her new spouse, "Wish I hadn't had feathers," as they blew about in the wind and she struggled to control them, but Charles simply turned away, and muttered, "They look awful," the lip readers claimed. Queen Elizabeth, for her part, chimed in too, pointing out that she "did warn her not to wear feathers". ‌ William confesses how much he 'owes' late Queen In a moving moment captured in the documentary, William showed just how much respect he had for his grandmother, the late monarch. William and Kate - newly married at the time - had been asked to step into Prince Philip's shoes and join the late Queen for an event, because the late Duke of Edinburgh was unwell. ‌ The late Queen told her grandson she was "so glad" he was there and had been able to step in, to which William simply replied, "I owe you that," according to the lip-reading experts. After the sweet moment, the pair went on to joke about how Philip could be moody when he was feeling unwell, with William replying that he knew his grandfather could be "grouchy" and they all began giggling. William tells Kate he will 'always love her' William and Kate's royal wedding was watched by millions of people across the globe, but the lip readers spotted some sweet moments during the couple's carriage ride that had previously flown under the radar. ‌ "Are you happy?" Kate asked her new husband at point, they claimed, and he replied, "It's been a perfect day." "My face is hurting from smiling at everyone so much," he said later in their journey, with Kate agreeing, saying: "I'm smiling as well". ‌ Kate then said, "Tell me you love me," to William, with him sweetly replying, "I love you always". Charles and Diana marriage breakdown The lip readers compared how Diana and Charles spoke on their wedding day - to how they interacted towards the end of their marriage, and it wasn't a pretty sight by that point. "You will be fine," Charles said to Diana when they tied the knot, and she replied happily in a "sing-song" voice, "As will you!" ‌ The couple might have been all wide smiles then, but a decade or so later, it was a different story altogether, the experts noted. The pair was sent to South Korea on a royal tour by the late Queen, on what one expert called the "mini break from hell" and it seemed to the lip readers things were pretty tense between them. When sitting in a car, Charles tried to engage Diana in a chat about how "interesting" South Korea is, but the lip readers pointed out that she seemed unwilling to reply. ‌ Giving only monosyllabic, "Yep" and "Yeah" answers, and "with no cheerfulness" one of the experts noted, she also remained resolutely facing away from him during the brief chat, looking out the car window instead. William asks Harry to 'talk' It has been widely reported that William thought Harry was rushing into things with Meghan, and that he advised his younger brother to slow things down ahead of their wedding. This, in turn, didn't please Harry, given that he was so sure he had met the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. ‌ Get Prince Harry updates straight to your WhatsApp! In one moment spotted by the lip readers, before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had tied the knot, William seemed to be appealing to his brother to have a talk with him. The lip-reading experts claimed that William said to Harry that he "would like to chat with you some more" as the pair left church at Christmas, tentatively adding, "Are you up for that?" to which Harry nods in reply. Whilst it can't be confirmed what William wanted to discuss with his brother, in light of their relationship beginning to unravel, this attempt to reach out stands out.

Prince William 'goes into dad mode' as he issues order to Prince Louis

In a new Channel 5 documentary, a forensic lip reader weighed in on a sweet family moment captured at Trooping the Colour, one that saw William go into "dad mode" Prince William went into "dad mode" as he issued an instruction to his children at the King's official birthday celebrations, it has been claimed. In a new Channel 5 documentary, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, which aired last night, a forensic lip reader weighed in on a sweet family moment captured at Trooping the Colour last year. ‌ On Saturday, June 14, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, joined King Charles and Queen Camilla on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch a flypast by the Red Arrows. ‌ However, Lip reader Nicola Hickling detailed how last year, William issued a fatherly instruction to his children as they watched the spectacle. Yet, it seems that George was struck by something a bit closer to Earth. ‌ According to Nicola, William tells his children: "Eyes up to the sky." After this, all three of them look up, and then George turns to his father and says: "The crowd is so loud." She added that a gesture made by Louis was him telling his family that he'd seen a propeller, with George responding by asking: "Where?" Afterwards, Kate asked her youngest: 'Wow, did you enjoy that?" ‌ Cristo Foufas, a royal analyst, said: "Kate and William immediately go into mum and dad mode then. 'Can you see it? Oh, they're coming around again', you know, 'Did you enjoy it?' All of those sorts of things they're saying to make it a special moment for their children." He claimed that the couple must have seen a "million flypasts" and that the displays were likely as "dull as ditch water" to them by now, but William and Kate weren't "letting that get to them". Cristo added that the future King and Queen were "making themselves enthusiastic" about it and attempting to make the proceedings "really special" for their children. ‌ Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the UK sovereign for more than 260 years. Each year, more than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians unite for the proceedings. During this year's event, which featured the usual pageantry, Charles and Camilla rode in a carriage as part of a military procession down the Mall and into Horse Guards Parade, reports the BBC. At the request of Charles, the Royals wore black armbands as a mark of respect to the victims of the Air India crash, which tragically led to the deaths of 241 passengers and crew and at least eight people on the ground. For 2025, the Red Arrows used a greener fuel, which included a sustainable aviation fuel and a biofuel that delivered the iconic trail. The broadcaster also suggested that this would have likely gone down well with Charles, a passionate environmental advocate.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Megxit conversation 'years before' family told

A private conversation between the Sussexes has been decoded by lip readers who claim it gives a bombshell insight on their plot to quit the Royal Family A private chat between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been interpreted by lip readers. It supposedly reveals a telling exchange that has led to speculation they were considering their departure from the Royal Family long before their US move. ‌ The discreet conversation took place at a service of remembrance at Westminster Abbey in 2018, six months following their lavish wedding at Windsor Castle. The Sussexes were in attendance alongside the full royal clan, including the late Queen Elizabeth II. ‌ New Channel 5 documentary, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, delves into this moment as Harry and Meghan sat awaiting the start of the ceremony, engaging in what appeared to be a significant conversation. ‌ Lip reading specialist Nicola Hickling analysed the exchange for the show, suggesting Meghan prompted Harry to "take advantage of the situation", her gaze then sweeping over the gathering of royals as reported by the Mirror. She says Harry responded to her comment by asking: "Today?", as Meghan added: "Do it tonight." Then, Harry poses a question to Meghan, asking: "You do realise that this is the end?" as Meghan responds: "Yeah, I do know". ‌ Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop has suggested that these seemingly private remarks between the Sussexes could indicate that the pair had been orchestrating their departure from the firm years before they ultimately chose to step down. Despite having the exchange towards the end of 2018, they welcomed first child Prince Archie six months after. They continued working their senior royal duties for another eight months following his birth. Harry and Meghan confirmed their departure from the Royal Family in January 2020, releasing a joint statement on Instagram announcing they would be "taking a step back" as senior working royals, whilst noting they would "plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America". ‌ Their announcement also stated that departing the Royal family and moving to California would provide them with the chance to bring up their son Archie "with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter." Previously in the couple's Netflix series, Harry confessed they had been preparing the bombshell relocation from the UK for "a minimum of two years". ‌ In 2018, Harry revealed that they had considered relocating to New Zealand or South Africa and were close to moving to South Africa before the press heard rumours of it. However, Harry stated that they had to abandon the plan as it turned into a "public debate", leading them to urgently seek a new residence while staying in Canada in January 2020. ‌ Now five years on after their split from the Royal Family, there's speculation about potential reconciliation talks between Prince Harry and his father King Charles. Top aides for both royals were seen engaging in discussions at a private club in London. This encounter has sparked curiosity over whether the aides were arranging a meeting between the King and Harry for his anticipated visit to the UK in September. Notably absent from the discussions were any representatives for Prince William, who is known to have a strained relationship with his brother. Harry has recently expressed a wish to mend fences with his family, stating in a candid BBC interview in May that he "would love a reconciliation" with the King and William. He confessed to being weary of conflict and voiced concerns about Charles' wellbeing, saying he "did not know how much longer [his] father has." In the same interview, the Duke also mentioned: "I would like to get my father and brother back."

Prince Harry's 'brutal' question he whispered in Eugenie's ear at key event without Meghan

Prince Harry was seen in conversation with his cousin Princess Eugenie at King Charles coronation last year, and according to a lip reader he had some harsh words. Prince Harry has openly expressed his hopes to rekindle his strained relationship with King Charles and his elder brother. However a whisper to a one royal ally may be a problem for the Duke. ‌ It comes as A secret peace summit between senior aides representing both Charles and his estranged son made headlines last week as the pair seemingly inched closer to reconciliation. ‌ The gathering occurred shortly after a BBC interview that sent shockwaves through the monarchy, in which the Duke of Sussex claimed his father "won't speak to him" amid a bitter legal dispute over his security arrangements in the UK. ‌ Reflecting on the rift within his family, which has been ongoing for years now, Harry remarked: "There is no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious." In an unexpected twist, the Duke also mentioned "I don't know how much longer my father has," referencing to Charles cancer diagnosis, as detailed in the Mirror. ‌ Harry acknowledged that "some members of my family will never forgive me" following the publication of his tell-all memoir Spare, but he also noted: "It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them." Despite Harry claiming he is "ready to forgive," his resentment was reportedly evident during his father's coronation, as a lip-reading expert revealed a distressing conversation between Harry and his cousin, Princess Eugenie, who is a close ally within the royal circle. A new programme airing on Channel 5, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, has unravelled countless royal exchanges at significant occasions, with the ex-royal facing scrutiny. ‌ Harry appeared isolated on the Westminster Abbey steps during his father's Coronation in 2023, having travelled back to the UK without wife Meghan and their children. Whilst his family members gathered together following the ceremony, the friction was still evident. The Duke subsequently approached Eugenie, among the handful of royals with who he maintains a bond with, and reportedly grumbled: "I've spent five hours with my dad in his office and not a friendly text from either", according to lip-reading analysis. ‌ Those who failed to message Harry remains unclear, whether referring to Charles and Camilla, or William and Kate, although Harry appears not to have communicated with his elder brother in years. The lip reader suggests he then questioned "Why hasn't anybody contacted me?" with Eugenie offering a sympathetic yet guarded smile in response. This new revelation emerges among another conversation between Harry and Meghan, which is featured in the upcoming TV programme. The discussion took place between the Sussexes during a Service of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey in 2018, just six months following their wedding. ‌ The pair were accompanied by the complete royal household, including the late Queen Elizabeth, to pay tribute to fallen military personnel and commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice. The documentary delved into a moment where Harry and Meghan engaged in a deep conversation, with Meghan posing a significant question to Harry. ‌ Lip reading expert Nicola Hickling interpreted their exchange for the show, claiming Meghan urged Harry to "take advantage of the situation", before she glanced around at the gathering of royals. According to the expert, Harry's reaction to Meghan's suggestion was to ask: "Today?", to which Meghan replied: "Do it tonight." Following this, Harry is said to have questioned Meghan further, saying: "You do realise that this is the end?" which Meghan acknowledged with: "Yeah, I do know". Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop then proposed that these remarks between the Sussexes could indicate that they had been considering their departure from their royal duties and cutting ties with the firm long before they officially stepped down.

Prince Harry 'whispered brutal question in Eugenie's ear' at event without Meghan

The Duke of Sussex cut a lonely figure at a huge family event without his wife Meghan Markle, and now a lip reader has uncovered the tense conversation he had with his royal ally Prince Harry has made it clear just how desperate he is to heal his fractured bond with King Charles and the rest of The Firm, but a hidden whisper to a royal ally might come back to haunt him. ‌ A secret peace summit between senior aides representing both Charles and his estranged son caused shockwaves last week as the pair seemingly edged closer to reconcilliation. ‌ The meeting came a mere few months after a BBC bombshell interview where the Duke claimed that his father "won't speak to him" due to his bitter legal battle over the level of security he is entitled to while in the UK. ‌ Addressing the years-long fall-out with his family, Harry said: "There is no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious." In a move that likely shocked the Palace, the Duke said "I don't know how much longer my father has," in reference to Charles' cancer diagnosis. The prince said that "some members of my family will never forgive me" for writing his explosive memoir Spare, but then added: "It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them." ‌ While Harry says he is "ready to forgive," he anger seemed palpabale at his father's Coronation, according to a lip reader who has uncovered a painful exchange between Harry and his cousin and longtime royal ally, Princess Eugenie. A new Channel 5 show, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, which airs tonight, has decoded numerous royal conversations at major events, and the prince wasn't spared. ‌ Harry cut a lonely figure on the steps of Westminster Abbey at his father's Coronation ceremony in 2023, as he returned to home soil without his wife Meghan and children. As his relatives all gathered together in the congregation at the end of the event, it was clear tensions remained high. The Duke then walked over to Eugenie, one of the few royals he's remained close to, and according to a lip reader, complained: "I've spent five hours with my dad in his office and not a friendly text from either". ‌ It's not clear who hasn't texted Harry - whether it's Charles and Camilla, or William and Kate - but the Duke seemingly hasn't spoken to his brother in years. The lip reader claims that he then asks "Why hasn't anybody contacted me?" and Eugenie responds with a sympathetic but cautious smile. It comes as another exchange - this time between Harry and Meghan - is uncovered in the new TV show. The conversation occurred between the Sussexes at a Service of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey in 2018, just six months after their star-studded wedding in Windsor Castle. ‌ The couple was joined in the Abbey by the entire royal family, including the late Queen Elizabeth to honour fallen servicemen and women, and to mark the Centenary of the Armistice. According to the documentary, as Harry and Meghan sat and waited for the ceremony to begin, they started conversing and taking in the situation, with Meghan asking Harry a very serious question. ‌ Lip reading expert Nicola Hickling decoded the conversation for the programme, as she claimed Meghan instructed Harry to "take advantage of the situation", before she turned to look around at the sea of royals that surrounded them. She says Harry responded to her comment by asking: "Today?", as Meghan added: "Do it tonight." Then, Harry poses a question to Meghan, asking: "You do realise that this is the end?" as Meghan responds: "Yeah, I do know". It is then suggested by royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop that the seemingly private comments between the Sussexes could mean that the couple had been plotting their dramatic exit from the royal family years before they actually decided to call it quits.
