Kaizer Chiefs: Top FIVE most valuable players and their staggering pricetags
Kaizer Chiefs are well-known for their incredible buying power.
In fact, at one point Amakhosi had the three highest-paid players in the PSL – Keagan Dolly, Samir Nurkovic and Khama Billiat – at the same time. Now, despite continuous failed campaigns in the Betway Premiership, the Soweto giants still boast some of the most valuable players in the entire PSL.
* Please note that all of these values are based off of the reported latest player values on Transfermarkt. Yusuf Maart (Amakhosi Captain) – (R20.7 MILLION)
Chiefs captain Maart is valued at approximately, $1 million.
This equates to almost R21 million (R20.7 million). Thus, making him the most highly valued player in the transfer market.
2. Given Msimango/Reeve Frosler – R18.7 MILLION
Interestingly, two under-utilised defenders share the honour of being Amakhosi's second-highest most valuable players. Both centre back, Msimango and right back, Frosler have an estimated market value of $900 000 which equotes to R18.65 million (roughly R18.7 million).
3. Ashley Du Preez – R17.6 MILLION
The speedy attacker has blown hot and cold since joining Chiefs from Stellies a few seasons ago. However, whilst his transfer market evaluation has dipped to $850 000 (R17.6 millin), he is still one of the most valuable players at Amakhosi.
Moreover, he is also one of the most highly valued players in the PSL today.
4. Mduduzi Shabalala – R14.5 MILLION
Mdu Shabalala is one of the fastest-rising young talents in the PSL. A couple of seasons ago he was playing for Amakhosi's DDC side. Now, he is a regular starter in the Chiefs senior side and one of the most valuable players in the PSL. 'Mdu' is valued at $700 000 which is approximately R14.5 million.
5. Rushwin Dortley/Bradley Cross – R13.5 MILLION
Both youngsters were recently signed when Nasreddine Nabi took over the reins at Chiefs. So, whilst neither transfer fee was disclosed, we know both players are worth big money.
Furthermore, both Dortley and Cross are valued at $R650 000. Meaning, both men have an estimated transfermarkt value of R13.47 million (R13.5 million).
Blom was one of the most valuable players before he returned to the United Stated. His market value currently sits at $900 000 (R18.7 million). Thus, mmaking him one of the most valuable players to leave Chiefs in recent seasons.
Brutal defender, Inacio Miguel has an estimated market evaluation that sees him worth $600 000 (R12.43 million). Meaning, if any of the players on this list depart from Naturena, Miguel will become one of the top five most valuable players left at Chiefs.

Picture: Top youngster spotted with Kaizer Chiefs first team!
Kaizer Chiefs are finalising their preparations on home soil before boarding to the Netherlands on Thursday for pre-season. Chiefs players have been at their training village for about a week and will now step up their preps abroad. Upon the player's return towards the end of June, they have been doing their routine testing. This week, pictures have surfaced showing them stepping it up a notch by doing some gym work. In the pictures released by the club, two of the three players Chiefs announced as new signings on Tuesday were spotted. On Tuesday Chiefs confirmed the three acquisitions of Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett . All three players being formerly overseas-based players prior to joining Amakhosi. The latter on the list, an attacking midfielder had quite a few options to stay abroad, including English League One side Wigan and Scottish Premier League side Motherwell. Now the two of the three signings that were spotted putting in the hard yards in the gym were Silva and Chislett. It remains to be seen if Shinga was also part of the session but was just not captured and uploaded. Another interesting face that was visible in the gym was young striker Naledi Hlongwane. The teenager formed part of the Chiefs DDC last season and finished as runner up in the golden boot race. In 2024 he rose to prominence after scoring two goals for the Carling All-Stars team against Magesi FC. Later in the season it was rumoured that he had been promoted to the Chiefs first team. Although he did train and travel with the team a few times, Hlongwane never made a match day squad. With Hlongwane spotted in the gym with the first team, it looks likely that he will travel with the Chiefs. Amakhosi fans, are you happy with the latest developments? Amakhosi has released five players. Meanwhile, the Soweto giants have signed THREE new Chiefs players. However, this is just the beginning of the player movements at Naturena. So, another FOUR Chiefs players face probably departures. Fiacre Ntwari, Bongani Sam, George Matlou, Edson Castillo and Tebogo Potsane are all facing likely departures out of Natuena. Ntwari is set to be loaned out by Chiefs, according to KickOff. Meanwhile, Sam is set to part ways with Amakhosi having not played a single game. 'Bongani Sam has parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs, concluding a surprising tenure without making a single competitive appearance for the club. He becomes the sixth player to part company with the club in this transfer window,' the insider reported on FarPost. Finally, these THREE Chiefs midfielders are all heading out of Naturena. Matlou, Potsane and Castillo are all in the same boat. They all sit behind the likes of Yusuf Maart, Gaston Sirino, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane and Mfundo Vilakazi in the Chiefs midfield pecking order. Meaning, they will struggle for game time if they stay at Naturena. Therefore, it is in their best interest to find a club where they can play more frequently. Matlou has been linked with a departure for several transfer windows. So, this is the most likey time for Chiefs to release him. Whilst, Potsane is not a part of Nabi's future plans. Finally, Nabi is considering letting Castillo go. 'It's been said head coach Nasreddine Nabi could be open to his [Castillo's] potential exit, allowing the club to be more flexible in the market as they look to lure new foreign recruits to bolster the squad for the upcoming season, ' the report read on iDiskiTimes. Chiefs have a whole team worth of new players – these 11 new players have reportedly joined the first team.
