Head coach Jonathan Smith's recruitment squeezed its way into the No. 24 overall spot across NCAA classes of 2026. Smith landed his 21st commitment on Wednesday, June 25. This is the eighth commitment rolling in from the 10 rising seniors who visited East Lansing over the weekend of May 30.

Jeremiah Favorite announced his commitment on Wednesday afternoon.
The Boiling Spring, S.C. native was recruited by secondary coach Blue Adams. In the absence of Demetrice Martin, Adams needed to step up and deliver a pitch that would work equally as well as the former cornerbacks coach's excellent recruiting skills.
Spartans immediately took to the comments to welcome him to his home away from home. Showering his comment section in green, it's safe to say Michigan State is excited at the bare minimum to have rounded out a solid defensive class and push the Spartans one step further in their rebuilding era.

The three-star is the No. 1230 overall recruit, No. 105 cornerback overall, and No. 21 recruit from South Carolina. Some other schools in the running for Favorite out of his 25 total offers were Indiana, Oklahoma State, and Wake Forest.
Favorite joins edges Fameitau Siale and Cory House, linebackers Braylon Hodge and Adam Shaw, cornerbacks TJ Umenyiora and KJ Deriso, safeties Jordan Vann, Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy, and Brayden Thomas, and defensive lineman Christopher Knauls on defense from the class of 2026.

Collin Murray-Boyles: Raptors sign 9th overall pick to rookie contract

Signed and official. CMB is locked in. 🖊️ South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles, the ninth pick in the 2025 NBA draft, signed his rookie-scale contract with the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, the team announced. Murray-Boyles was named to the All-SEC second team, averaging 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks on 58.6% shooting as a sophomore. He was the first Gamecocks player since Jimmy Foster in 1983-84 to average at least 16 points and eight rebounds in a season. He will make $6,332,520 next season, according to Spotrac. The 6-foot-7 forward led the conference in field-goal percentage and ranked 21st nationally. He was the only player in a Power Four conference to average at least 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block on 50% shooting from the field. Murray-Boyles established himself as a lottery pick at South Carolina because of his defensive intensity, post presence and ability to make plays for others. He boasts a 7-foot wingspan that enables him to protect the rim and force turnovers. The 19-year-old added a 3-point shot this past season, with inconsistent results after converting 9 of 34 from beyond the arc. The lefty has a smooth stroke and made it a point of emphasis throughout the predraft process to showcase his potential as a floor spacer. Murray-Boyles is expected to suit up with the Raptors as they play at least five games in the NBA Summer League, beginning on July 11 against the Chicago Bulls (8 p.m. EDT, NBA TV).

Michigan Adds Third Blue-Chip Commitment in Three Days

Michigan Adds Third Blue-Chip Commitment in Three Days originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Michigan Wolverines are on a heater. Their 2026 recruiting class was already among the top 10 in the country, and it keeps getting better. Advertisement On June 29, "Big Blue" secured a commitment from five-star EDGE Carter Meadows. The following day, Andre Clarke, a four-star safety out of Richmond, Virginia, committed to the program. On Tuesday, Michigan earned its third commitment in three days with the addition of four-star EDGE Julian Walker. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound defender is from Columbia, South Carolina, and chose the Wolverines over several big-time offers from schools like South Carolina, North Carolina, NC State, Georgia Tech and more. The race for Walker's services seemed to be down to two schools: Michigan and South Carolina. Walker's father, Jamil, is a staff member with the University of South Carolina's Gamecocks. Advertisement In June, Walker took his official visit to Michigan and spoke positively about his experience. 'It was a great visit to Ann Arbor,' Walker said. 'I got some really good time with the defensive staff and Coach Moore. Definitely another elite visit, where they continue to show me how they see me playing across the line. They really like my ability to play any position up front and want to use me on the inside and outside. I love that they want to use my versatility on the field." Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore. Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Per On3, Walker is the No. 180 player in the country, the 24th-best EDGE and fourth-ranked prospect from South Carolina. Advertisement The Wolverines now have 20 commitments in this recruiting cycle. They have the ninth-best class and rank third in the Big Ten. With the addition of Walker, Michigan has nine players ranked in On3's industry top 200. Panthers star Xavier Legette shows true grit helping with friend's ATV stuck in muddy water

With NFL training camp around the corner, players are finding ways to stay in shape and have fun before the grind of a new season begins. For Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette, that means enjoying the outdoors, even if it means helping a friend out in a muddy situation. Legette went viral for helping a friend get an ATV out of muddy water he believed the vehicle could get through. At first, Legette was trying to coach his friend out of the predicament, but when that didn't work, he jumped on to do things himself. Legette didn't hesitate a bit when he saw the situation getting even more sticky. However, the video clip ends with Legette and his friend trying together to pull the blue ATV out of the mud without showing the end result. Legette's wilderness adventures have been on full display since the South Carolina product entered the NFL as the Panthers' first-round selection last season. He went viral for numerous reasons, including his thick Southern accent that fans adore. He's also been seen riding horses on his farm, especially "Dolla Bill," which he gives a nod to with his touchdown celebration that mimics riding a horse. Legette had some great moments for the Panthers last season with 497 yards on 49 receptions and four touchdowns in his rookie year. He hopes to build off his rookie campaign with a Panthers team that added to its wide receivers room in the first round again, this time nabbing Tetairoa McMillan out of Arizona with the eighth overall pick in April.
