Musical CDs: the 15 most wanted releases on compact disc in June, according to Discogs

Scotsman10-06-2025
Another month, another chance to rifle through your old CD collection to see what the most wanted items in the format are on Discogs for June 2025.
With the UK summer festival season truly underway – Download Festival and Parklife taking place this week, and the mighty Glastonbury Festival at the end of the month – has that led to a change in what items users of the online marketplace are after? Or, is it much the same as last month?
We've taken a look once again at the most wanted items on compact disc, and compact disc only (no LPs featuring CDs this time), to bring to you this month's essential items for collectors. And as always, if you're in the market to sell or buy one, a word of caution.
Prices regarding musical releases can and do fluctuate, so keep an eye on both the highest price an item has sold for when looking through your catalogue you've uploaded to Discogs, and more importantly, take a look at the median (average) sales prices. Just because someone wants a certain release, doesn't mean that it might be worth the fortune you think.
Maybe keep it in that instance?
1 . Deftones – Around The Fur ( Maverick – 9 46810-2, Warner Bros. Records – 9 46810-2)
Around The Fur is a landmark album for nu-metal and alternative metal, showcasing Deftones' unique blend of crushing aggression and ethereal beauty. It's highly influential and has a dedicated cult following in the UK. Its atmospheric soundscapes and Chino Moreno's distinctive vocals make it a key album for fans of heavier alternative music, remaining a consistently sought-after CD. 🔎 1992 wants | Getty Images/Canva Photo Sales
2 . Gorillaz - Demon Days (Parlophone 0946 311688 2 6)
Gorillaz, Damon Albarn's virtual band, became a global phenomenon with Demon Days, which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and went multi-platinum. Its genre-hopping blend of hip-hop, indie, electronica, and rock, featuring an array of guest artists, produced massive hits like Feel Good Inc. and Dare. It was also one of the releases that caused the controversy surrounding copy protection on CDs at the time. 🔎 2023 wants | Getty Images/Discogs Photo Sales
3 . Twenty One Pilots – Regional At Best (Self Released)
This self-released album is a unique case. While it predates their major label breakthrough, Regional At Best holds significant cult status among Twenty One Pilots' dedicated fanbase in the UK. Many of its songs were re-recorded for later albums, but this original version is highly sought after by collectors for its raw, unfiltered sound and as a piece of the band's early history. Its scarcity as a physical CD makes it genuinely "most wanted" by fans. 🔎 2025 wants | Getty Images/Discogs Photo Sales
4 . Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (Creation Records CRE CD 189)
Arguably one of (if not) the defining British album of the mid-90s. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? was a monumental commercial success in the UK, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time here. It spawned anthems like "Wonderwall," Don't Look Back In Anger, and Champagne Supernova that are still sung in pubs and stadiums across the country - and soon to be at Oasis' 2025 reunion shows. 🔎 2029 wants | Getty Images/Discogs Photo Sales

Wimbledon star paid £10m to famous celebrities for two jaw-dropping mansions

Wimbledon star paid £10m to famous celebrities for two jaw-dropping mansions Naomi Osaka has made a splash on the property ladder as well as the famed courts of Wimbledon, picking up a pair of swanky luxury homes that A-list celebrities previously inhabited Naomi Osaka bought properties from two celebrities (Image: Getty Images ) Naomi Osaka's illustrious tennis career has allowed her to buy a number of extravagant homes previously lived in by household name celebrities. The Japanese sensation is currently ranked at WTA No. 53 and has amassed north of £16million in career earnings to date, while also holding coveted Grand Slam wins at the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021, and the US Open in 2018 and 2020. Meanwhile, lucrative brand deals with the likes of TAG Heuer, Nike and Louis Vuitton have boosted her bank balance further – but it appears as though the 27-year-old has invested her earnings wisely. ‌ That's because she is the proud owner of two lavish properties which she bought from Nick Jonas and Nick Lachey respectively. The Osaka-born star who has since settled in the United States picked up a £5m minimalist home from Jonas in August 2019. ‌ Originally built in 1965 but renovated in 2015, the 4,129 square-foot property nestled in Los Angeles boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and features a separate two-storey guesthouse fitted with a bedroom suite, office and a private gym. The main home also features impressive floor-to-ceiling glass doors, a vast living room and an impressive kitchen, while the garden plays host to an infinity pool and spa. While Jonas reportedly bought the home for just shy of £5m a year earlier, he is said to have decided to sell up after marrying Priyanka Chopra in the December as he was eager to look for a forever home with his wife. Jonas' former home isn't the only residence in California that Osaka owns, however. That's because in 2022, she picked up a £6.2m property in the heart of Tarzana, a stone's throw from the prestigious Calabasas area. A 6,855 square-foot property with five bedrooms, each with their own full bathroom attached, the home is surrounded by natural greenery and is fitted with all of the latest bells and whistles. Article continues below One of the most stunning features, however, is the scenic back garden which offers incredible views of skyward vistas come sunset. A pool deck is perfect for making memories in the summer sun, while an outdoor fire pit surrounded by comfortable seating allows for cozy and peaceful late night relaxation. Naomi Osaka's home she bought from Nick Lachey (Image: Zillow ) At the time of purchase, the home also featured an incredible basketball court which was accessible from a secret stairway from the yard. Previously inhabiting the incredible mansion was famed singer-songwriter Nick Lachey and his wife, Vanessa, who raised their three children in the property before finally selling up to Osaka three years ago. ‌ As of 2025, it is unclear as to whether Osaka lives in both properties at present, or whether she has opted to occupy one of them and utilise the other as an investment opportunity. The outdoor space of Osaka's Tarzana property is stunning (Image: Zillow ) It comes as Osaka returned to Wimbledon this summer with hopes of adding a fifth Grand Slam title to her name. The star started out strong on the courts of SW19, besting Talia Gibson in her opening round before defeating Katerina Siniakova on Wednesday. Osaka started strong against the WTA No. 50, taking the first set 6-2. However, the Russian rallied in the second and third 6-4 each to secure victory and advance to the round of 16. It's the third time that Osaka has been eliminated from the Grand Slam in the third round, previously suffering defeat to Venus Williams and Angelique Kerber in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Watch as Oasis reunite after 16 years at Cardiff concert

Noel and Liam Gallagher took to the stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4) in what was their first gig together in 16 years. The performance was the first show in their long-awaited reunion tour (Live '25) - which will also see them perform in locations including London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The brothers, who had not performed together since their dramatic split in 2009, blasted through their setlist, kicking off with Hello, from their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? During the gig, Liam apologised to fans for how long it had taken for them to reunite. He spoke to the audience several times throughout the set, saying: 'Hello people, it's been too long,' before launching into Oasis' third song of the night - What's the Story. Both brothers made joking references to the dynamic pricing scandal during Friday's show. Fans were left outraged when trying to buy tickets for the Oasis tour in the UK and Ireland, with some standard tickets appearing to jump from £148 to £355. The controversy prompted the Government and the UK's competition watchdog to pledge to look at the use of dynamic pricing. The brothers also paid tribute to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident on Thursday (July 3). During the final bars of Live Forever, a picture of Jota was displayed, with the crowd cheering and applauding the gesture. As they broke into fan-favourite Champagne Supernova, their final song of the evening, Liam said: 'Right you beautiful people, this is it. 'Nice one for putting up with us over the years, we know we've been difficult. 'Champagne Supernova, nice one.' While the brothers shared no banter on stage throughout the gig, they very briefly high-fived and half-hugged each other's shoulders after their closing track.
