What started as an ordinary working day quickly turned into a comedy sketch for a worker who left his shoes unattended, only to find that one went missing on his return.
In a viral TikTok video shared on Monday under the username @lifeaedean, the worker can be seen putting on his one remaining shoe, as a customer's dog parades his other shoe around like a trophy after stealing it from him.
"Took my shoes off at the door. Came back, dog's nicked (stolen) my shoe," the poster says in the clip, as he and two other people can be seen in the clip chasing the dog to get the shoe back. "Operation get my shoe back."
It is not uncommon for a dog to steal objects such as shoes, or even socks. But what is it about stinky footwear that attracts them so much?
Dogs may take our shoes for several reasons, including teething, boredom, over-stimulation, anxiety, or just demanding attention or play, according to Vet Help Direct. Puppies often chew shoes to soothe their gums when teething, while dogs lacking physical or mental stimulation may act out to get a reaction.
Some breeds, like retrievers, are bred to carry things in their mouths, so if you own one, you should remove any shoes from the door when you leave the house.
Other dogs, especially those that are anxious or suffer from separation anxiety, might find comfort in your scent.
To prevent your dog from chewing off your shoes, you should ensure they get plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation through walks, puzzle toys, and interactive play.
You should also teach them commands like "leave" or "swap." It's important that you never chase your dog, as it can reinforce the behavior, making it look like a game. If problems persist, a veterinarian or a qualified animal behaviorist may help you out.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok and it has so far received over 262,900 views and 22,900 likes on the platform.
One user, StormzTailz, commented: "Is there any evidence the dog took it though? it's unclear."
Leighowens7 said: "My dog did this with a stranger who was carrying a spare pair of boots with her. She missed her train. mortifying is an understatement."
HenryParkin added: "I had this with my van keys, spent a good 10 mins searching before the customer realized."
Karli Sando said: "The way it's looks at you, it's mocking you."

Mom Picks Up 12-Hour Shift on Father's Day, Leaving Dad with Kids After He Went Golfing on Mother's Day (Exclusive)

Michelle Rossi picked up a shift on Father's Day and documented her husband spending time with the kids on TikTok Rossi shares that her husband went golfing on Mother's Day, so she had to do something in return for Father's Day The video went viral, amassing 7.7 million viewsA mom got back at her husband on Father's Day after he left her alone with their kids on Mother's Day. A few years ago, Michelle Rossi's husband mistakenly made a tee time to golf with his friends on a sunny day in May, not knowing it was Mother's Day. In retaliation, she picked up a 12-hour nursing shift when Father's Day came around that June. Rossi documented her husband's reaction to spending the day with their kids on TikTok, sharing a FaceTime call of her at work while her family sat at home. "My husband said it's all about spending time with the kids on Mother's Day. So I picked up a 12-hour shift on Father's Day so he can spend time with them alone," she captioned the clip. Rossi, 34, exclusively tells PEOPLE that she "remembers the kids were crazy that day - they were only 2, 1, and 6 months old at the time. He was with them for 12 hours solo on Father's Day." When Rossi first posted the video, which garnered 7.7 million views, she says her husband laughed. "It's been a joke between us now," she shares. "I didn't think I'd get this big of a reaction." "The responses I received online were incredible. There were so many angry dads, but so many women praising me," she adds. "It was genuinely amusing to read the comments. I love the empowerment in the comment section." However, she hopes people "realize it wasn't necessarily meant to degrade [her] husband, even though it does seem like it.""Social media is not what it's all made out to be," she adds. "I love to post for fun and love to be relatable." Rossi emphasizes that it's an old video that she posts every year. Since the incident, things have improved, and "there has been no bad Mother's Days." "Usually, I wake up to my kids and him bringing me coffee and cards. Then we usually go out to breakfast," she shares. "This year, I got a massage. Most of the years were spent with our kids and families. Working in healthcare is hard because I'm not always off on holidays." This past Father's Day, they spent time at a water park with the kids and went out to breakfast. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. While Rossi and her husband have since figured out the best way to spend the holidays, the video serves as a reminder that relationships and parenting are a two-way street. "It makes us moms realize we can give them the same treatment they treat us [with] on Mother's Day since it's after," Rossi adds. Read the original article on People

Mom Sees Son Playing With Toy Animals—Then Realizes What's Really Happening

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. When one mom came across her son playing with his favorite toy animals, she initially thought little of it. However, when she took a closer look at what he was doing, she quickly realized there was more to his game than meets the eye. Hannah Wakeman, from the West Midlands region of England, took to her TikTok channel, @cleaningwithhan_, to share a glimpse of the special game she discovered her 10-year-old son playing. "I actually went to check on him as he was quiet for too long," Wakeman told Newsweek. Wakeman's son has autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, around 1 in 31 children aged 8 years in the U.S. have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). When it comes to living with autism, self-regulation is a crucial skill set. It provides the individual with the necessary tools to manage their own emotions, behaviors, and sensory input. It's something that can be worked on and improved with age. In the case of Wakeman's son, his toy animals are a useful tool. "He orders the animals so he can self regulate and self soothe," Wakeman said. "The repetitive nature of it can be calming." Hannah realized there was something special about the way her son had ordered his toys. Hannah realized there was something special about the way her son had ordered his toys. TikTok/cleaningwithhan_ Wakeman said her son has always been an avid collector of toy animals, among other things. "His special interest is animals; he's been collecting them for years," she said. "He also collects Disney DVDs and orders them from their release date." However, there was something unique about the way he was playing with his toys on this particular day. So unique that Wakeman felt compelled to share his efforts on social media in a video that has already racked up 2.4 million views. "I noticed the zebra at the end, that was the moment I realized that I looked at the alligator at the beginning and realized he'd ordered them alphabetically," she said. This was something her son had "never done before," and she decided to share it, in part, as a challenge to viewers online. "I wanted to see without stating, if anyone else could guess what he had done," Wakeman said. Having given followers enough time to make their guesses, Wakeman revealed the answer by listing the toy animals in the order they appeared in her son's lineup: Alligator, bear, camel, dolphin, elephant, flamingo, giraffe, hippo, Iguana, jaguar, kangaroo, lion, monkey, narwhal, octopus, polar bear, quail, rhino, squirrel, tiger, urial, vulture, wolf, X-ray fish, yak, zebra. While the challenge-like nature of the clip clearly boosted the video's popularity, Wakeman felt it also offered an intriguing look at "how the autistic mind works." It also had a positive impact on Wakeman and her family, with numerous fellow parents of autistic children chiming in on the comments section to offer praise and share stories of similar experiences. "That's amazing!!!! My sons autistic so I can relate," one user wrote. "My little boy does this as well. Took me ages to realise," another person commented. Reflecting on the discovery and their subsequent viral fame, Wakeman has been left with one overriding feeling: pride. "I felt so proud of my son," she said. "It's amazing to hear that so many other children do this too. I think it's so cool to have that way of thinking."
