Mystery deepens as family of six disappears after overnight stay in Kedah on Saturday
The disappearance of Mohd Azim Ezzat Ishak, 32, his wife Nurul Hidayah Khalijah Razman Effendy, 31, and their four children, aged between six months and nine years, was realised when they did not return to their home in Jerlun after spending the night at another family member's house in Taman Aman, Jitra.
According to Mohd Azim Ezzat's younger sister, Nur Adliah Shuhada, in her 20s, her brother's family usually spent the night at her house on Fridays.
'I thought they had returned to Jerlun because my brother, who works as a security guard, usually leaves early in the morning, and my sister-in-law runs a business. But when my brother's mother-in-law called and said they hadn't arrived home, I started to worry and tried to contact them but failed.
'Then I received information about a Proton Saga car in Sungai Korok (in Jitra), but the licence plate number did not match my brother's car,' she said here.
Nur Adliah Shuhada said that a police report has been lodged at the Jitra Police Station regarding the disappearance of her brother and his family.
'I also posted about their disappearance on Facebook, and as of 10.30 pm tonight, they still haven't been located,' she added.
Meanwhile, Kubang Pasu District Police Chief Supt Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim confirmed that they have received a report regarding the disappearance of the couple and their four children. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 — A male suspect in the murder of university student Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara in Cyberjaya is expected to be charged soon under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said. She had been living with five housemates, who had returned to their hometowns for the holidays on June 21. Police said all three suspects were known to the victim and confirmed there were no signs of forced entry into her unit. An autopsy determined that she died from blunt force trauma to the head and showed no evidence of sexual assault. Authorities also revealed that the male suspect used Maniishapriet's debit card to withdraw money from multiple ATMs shortly after her death. Her laptop, mobile phone, and some cash were also reported missing from the unit. The remand orders for all three suspects have been extended until July 1

MACC moves to seize RM169m in cash tied to Ismail Sabri and ex-aide
KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 —The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has filed an application to forfeit over RM169 million in cash belonging to former prime minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. MACC, represented by the deputy public prosecutor as the applicant, filed the application at the Sessions Court here naming Ismail Sabri's former political secretary Datuk Mohammad Anuar Mohd Yunus and the former prime minister himself as first and second respondents. In the application, the commission is seeking a court order to forfeit cash seized from the first respondent for the Malaysian government, including RM14,772,150 in Malaysian currency; SG$6,132,350 in Singapore Dollars, US$1,461,400 in US Dollars, CHF 3 million in Swiss Francs, 12,164,150 in Euros, JPY363,000,000 in Japanese Yen, £50,250 in British Pound, NZ$44,600 in New Zealand Dollars, AED34,750,000 in Emirati Dirham, and A$352,850 in Australian Dollars. The application was made under Section 41(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 after the commission was satisfied that the money kept by Mohammad Anuar belonged to Ismail Sabri and was linked to an offence under Section 36(2) of the same Act.
