Another summit, another moment I'll never forget.
Standing here with the Qatar flag in my hand, I'm reminded why I started this journey. To test my limits. To represent something bigger than myself. And to show that dreams can take us far, if we're willing to go beyond boundaries.
Thank you to the Qatar Olympic Committee, Ooredoo Qatar, and the Ministry of Sports and Youth for believing in this dream and helping bring it to life.

Tribune News Network Doha The Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar concluded after a week of outstanding racing, cultural celebration, and strategic dialogue, further reinforcing Qatar's commitment to international sporting excellence and bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi. The festival also hosted the Group 1 the Qatar Nassau Stakes held on July 31st which brought together a competitive field of 22 elite fillies over the 1m2f distance. The race ended in a thrilling finish, with Whirl securing first place. The trophy was presented by Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, accompanied by Ali Turki AlSobai of Education Above All Foundation. Visit Qatar's exclusive naming and ownership rights across five key races served to spotlight the country's rich equestrian heritage and its positioning as a global destination for world-class events. As the week progressed, the energy continued with the King George Qatar Stakes and a fitting finale with the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable programme. As the Festival concludes, Qatar's presence at Goodwood leaves a lasting impression from the winner's circle to the broader celebration of culture and sport demonstrating the country's integrated approach to international engagement.

In a post on its official X account, the Ministry stated: 'We take pride in the achievement of Sheikha Asma Al Thani and her raising of the nation's flag on the summit of Gasherbrum I. What she has accomplished embodies the spirit of determination and perseverance, serving as an inspiration for Qatari youth to strive toward achieving their goals and overcoming challenges.' Sheikha Asma announced her successful ascent on Instagram last Monday, marking another milestone in her mountaineering journey. 'Gasherbrum I, my 10th 8000er. Another summit, another moment I'll never forget,' she wrote. She continued in the post: 'Standing here with the Qatar flag in my hand, I'm reminded why I started this journey. To test my limits. To represent something bigger than myself. And to show that dreams can take us far, if we're willing to go beyond boundaries.' Gasherbrum I, standing at 8,080 metres (26,510 feet) above sea level, is located in the Karakoram range of the Himalayas, straddling the border between Pakistan's Gilgit–Baltistan region and China's Xinjiang province. The mountain is part of the Gasherbrum Massif, a notoriously challenging area for climbers due to its extreme altitude and rugged conditions.
