Madam Secretary Stars Téa Leoni and Tim Daly Marry in Real Life
In our politically divided nation, there's one issue on which members of both parties can come together: to congratulate Tim Daly and Téa Leoni on their recent wedding! The actors, who played married couple Henry and Elizabeth McCord in CBS' White House drama Madam Secretary, were married in a private ceremony on July 12 in New York City, reports. TVLine has reached out to the actors' reps for comment. More from TVLine Yellowstone's Beth/Rip Spinoff Taps Finn Little to Return as Carter Duster Cancelled at HBO Max After One Season Max Rebrand Update: Here's When the Streaming Service Will Become HBO Max (Again) Madam Secretary ran for six seasons from 2014 to 2019 on CBS. Leoni's Elizabeth started the series as the Secretary of State but was elected President of the United States by the show's final season. Daly's Henry was a theologian who wound up as ethical advisor to President Conrad Dalton and later became First Gentleman of the United States when Elizabeth was elected president. Though Leoni and Daly knew each other prior to the show's start — they attended the same high school in Vermont — they began dating during in real life during the series' first season. As the show finished production in November 2019, Daly posted about his gratitude for everything (and everyone) it had brought into his life. 'HUMANS!!!,' he wrote on social media, 'What did I get from Madam Secretary? EVERYTHING!!! That's a wrap.' Here's hoping the real-life couple's big day went more smoothly than Elizabeth and Henry's Season 5 vow renewal, which took place at an Arizona jail after she was arrested for speaking out against draconian family separation policies at the United States border. When Elizabeth refused to go free until the children separated from their parents were reunited, she and Henry (and their kids) marked their 30th anniversary with a ceremony held at her cell. AHSOKA Star Ivanna Sakhno Teases Bigger, Deeper Season 2: 'We're in the Middle of Filming' — GeekTyrant
Ahsoka season 2 is officially in production, and according to star Ivanna Sakhno, fans are in for something much bigger. While details remain tightly under wraps (no surprise there, Sakhno offered a quick but promising update while speaking with GamesRadar+. 'You know, there's absolutely nothing that I can speak on at the moment, and I wish I could share with you something at least, because it's such an exciting time for us to be back together, and we're currently in the middle of filming it. 'All I can say is that it is bigger and even more in-depth, and I'm really excited for people to see it. It means the world.' It's been almost two years since Ahsoka Season 1 landed on Disney+, and since its January 2024 renewal, things have been quiet on the official front. That's only fueled more speculation among fans, especially after the cryptic, Mortis God-themed cliffhanger that left several characters, Sakhno's Shin Hati included, stranded on Peridea with uncertain futures. Shin was left behind by her master Baylan Skoll, who set off in pursuit of something tied to ancient Force mythology. In the final moments of Season 1, she aligns herself with a band of local marauders, suggesting a darker, more complex path might lie ahead. That path may also be more dangerous, considering the actor who plays her spent the break between seasons going full villain mode. Sakhno stars as AMELIA, a ruthless, militarized AI bot in M3GAN 2.0, and it sounds like the role pushed her into intense physical territory. "I had a wonderful, wonderful stunt team and personal trainer as well, who are very grounded people, and honestly work a lot with energy and being present in your own body. 'We did quite a bit of obviously, like Krav Maga and different styles of fighting. We also did Tai Chi and studied the ability to move your energy from one place to another in order to remain still." So, if you thought Shin Hati was a threat before, just wait. A lightsaber-wielding warrior trained in Krav Maga and energy flow sounds like someone Thrawn should be keeping tabs on. There's no official release date yet for Ahsoka Season 2.

Meet Ivanna Sakhno, the 'Star Wars' actress-turned-'M3GAN 2.0' breakout
Ivanna Sakhno has seen all the 'M3GAN' memes. But it wasn't until she auditioned for the sequel, 'M3GAN 2.0' (in theaters now), that she actually sat down and watched the 2023 slasher satire, about a presumptuous cyborg who stops at nothing to protect her young human charge (Violet McGraw). 'I tend to be quite scared of horror films, so I didn't get to see it then,' says Sakhno, 27, who plays a military-grade android named Amelia in the new movie. 'But I'm so glad that it came into my world. As soon as I read the script, I was so deeply moved by Amelia in a way that I didn't expect.' Amelia is, in many ways, the inverse of M3GAN: 'If M3GAN is this '50s-inspired vision of perfection, Amelia is a bit rougher around the edges,' writer/director Gerard Johnstone says. Unlike M3GAN, who is 'stuck in this permanent state of adolescence, Amelia is a full-grown woman and a fighting machine.' Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox Johnstone discovered Sakhno in the 'Star Wars' series 'Ahsoka,' in which she played Dark Jedi apprentice Shin Hati. 'She just had this magnetism and stillness to her that was so commanding,' he recalls. 'I was like, 'Well, that's Amelia.' ' Get to know more about the 'M3GAN 2.0' breakout: Ivanna Sakhno is the Ukrainian actress now starring in 'M3GAN 2.0' Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Sakhno got her start acting as a young girl in Ukrainian films and commercials. She dreamed of coming to Hollywood, and 'quite early on, I realized that I had to find a way to leave my country,' Sakhno says. So at age 13, she moved in with a host family in Vancouver, Canada, where she studied English and enrolled in an acting workshop. A year later, she and her mother relocated to Los Angeles, where she attended Beverly Hills High School. American food was a major culture shock: 'I remember the Cinnamon Toast Crunch blew my mind,' she says with a laugh. 'The first time I tasted it, my life was never the same.' But it was also around this time, in 2014, that Russians invaded Eastern Ukraine. At school, she recalls the dissonance of 'seeing kids getting into their parents' cars – Ferraris and the most expensive cars you could imagine – and then simultaneously witnessing what was going on in my motherland. It was quite a stark difference.' Ivanna Sakhno looked to insects in crafting her AI assassin Amelia In the U.S., Sakhno has primarily appeared in action projects, including 'Pacific Rim: Uprising,' 'The Spy Who Dumped Me,' 'Ahsoka' and now 'M3GAN 2.0.' But the actress says that's merely a coincidence: Aside from a few childhood ballet classes, she doesn't have an athletic background. 'When you do action roles quite consistently, they kind of pile up on top of one another. There's muscle memory,' Sakhno says. 'I've learned quite a great deal about showing up for yourself through physical work and being present in your body.' In the lead-up to filming 'M3GAN 2.0,' the rising star worked extensively with Johnstone and movement coach Luke Hawker to find Amelia's physicality. She practiced tai chi and breathwork, and closely studied nature. 'They made me feel welcome to bring my own vision of her,' Sakhno says. 'We took a bit of inspiration from insects – in particular, the praying mantis. There's a stillness, but also a precision in the way it moves.' How the late David Lynch inspired the Hollywood newcomer Sakhno has also dipped into other mediums outside of film: She appeared in Hulu's rom-com series 'High Fidelity' opposite Zoë Kravitz, and co-starred with Hozier in his 'Eat Your Young' music video. She's had a lifelong passion for painting, and believes she would focus on that if she weren't acting. 'I can't say I'm necessarily a great painter, but I cherish getting to learn about the present moment through painting,' she says. "Not to be too pretentious – forgive me – but I legitimately could see myself being more integrated into advocacy work. It was something I was led into through the history of my country, and like every Ukrainian, I feel dedicated to it.' Moving forward, the up-and-comer says that 'M3GAN 2.0' has made her rethink how she uses technology: 'Amelia represents what happens when we create something powerful without fully thinking through the consequences.' She now tries to stay away from her phone as much as possible, save for her favorite transcendental meditation app. 'I try to (meditate) 20 minutes in the morning and 20 in the evening,' Sakhno explains. 'David Lynch was a great inspiration, and I started doing it after his passing. I have such great respect for him, and obviously, he's a legend in his own right. He's definitely raising the vibration for all of us collectively.'

'M3GAN 2.0' review: Killer robot girl gets new foe (but no upgrade) in sequel
In the two years since "M3GAN" came out, AI has become a constant talking point and more a part of our daily life and culture. Yet strangely, the killer robot girl who shimmied and stabbed her way into our hearts is defanged and watered down in her return. Rather than being clever like the original movie, a horror-tinged sci-fi satire/parental cautionary tale, sequel "M3GAN 2.0" (★★ out of four; rated PG-13; in theaters June 27) is the type of combo goofy comedy/undercooked action flick that would earn an epic sick burn from M3GAN herself. She's the needle-dropping, TikTok-ready meme queen who's supposed to slay, and in this one, she just loses her way. It's been two years since inventor Gemma (Allison Williams) created a high-tech companion for her orphaned niece Cady (Violet McGraw) and the overprotective M3GAN went on a homicidal spree. While it got Gemma in a lot of hot water, now she's turned it around and become quite the AI ethicist. Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox But the government would like another word. It seems an earlier model of M3GAN was turned into a military-grade covert operative named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno) who's now gone rogue, seeking out an old piece of powerful technology that would make humanity expendable. To combat Amelia, M3GAN needs to get back in the game, but Gemma's reluctant to do much more than put her AI attitude in a kids toy, worrying that she'll break bad again. Amelia proves to be such a nuisance that M3GAN gets her wish and Gemma's team creates a stronger, faster, taller body suitable for fighting and dancing. Thankfully, M3GAN is as sassy as ever - otherwise this thing would be far less watchable - but her unhinged spirit that was so delightfully delicious in the first film is sacked in the name of 'personal growth' and Tom Cruise-y airborne action sequences. The addition of Sakhno, last seen as a lightsaber-wielding antagonist in "Ahsoka," is a nice touch. While M3GAN is clearly a creepy doll brought to life, Sakhno's angular face and doe eyes lend a heightened human quality to Amelia, who's also top notch at delivering unnerving death stares. Among the returning crew, Brian Jordan Alvarez gets more to do as Cole, one of Gemma's scientific colleagues, and it feels earned after his hilarious breakthrough FX comedy series "English Teacher." The movie sets up an epic battle between M3GAN and Amelia, and they do have a few good tussles. But what promises to be a battle on the level of the rock-em, sock-em robot action of 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day' is overcomplicated by a nonsensical subplot involving another killer machine from the '80s. For real, if a 'M3GAN' movie has one rule, it's don't mess up the fembot throwdown. Writer/director Gerard Johnstone's sequel fumbles quite a few things it shouldn't, though. It feels weirdly dated: There's a running joke involving Cady using Steven Seagal as a role model – good luck explaining him to the kids – and in what's supposed to be an amusing moment that just seems forced, M3GAN serenades a weirded-out Gemma with Kate Bush's 'This Woman's Work.' 'M3GAN 2.0' doesn't do the title character many favors. Still, our girl remains a magnetic presence onscreen – and on computer screens, even when she's being a cyber-nuisance. Let's hope the next time we see her, it's an actual upgrade. How to watch 'M3GAN 2.0' The sci-fi action sequel "M3GAN 2.0" is in theaters June 27. The movie is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association "for strong violent content, bloody images, some strong language, sexual material, and brief drug references."

Star Wars' Temuera Morrison Is Still Waiting For More Of The Book Of Boba Fett, But I'm More Focused On His Pitch For Ahsoka Season 2
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's been a little while since Star Wars fans last saw the titular character of The Book of Boba Fett, which ran for a single season from 2021 to 2022. The former bounter solidified his position as the daimyo of Mos Espa and was overseeing the spaceport alongside Fennic Shand. At this point, it seems that the BoBF will remain a miniseries, but its lead actor, Temuera Morrison, isn't giving up hope that the show will return. Aside from that, Morrison is also pitching himself for Ahsoka Season 2, and I dig the idea he has. Since he portrayed the role of Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones over two decades ago, Temuera Morrison has been incredibly passionate about his bounty hunter characters. So it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that during an interview with Collider, he expressed disappointment over the fact that Boba's show has not returned. Overall, it seems the lack of a second season and the fact that a fellow 'Mando-verse' show is returning isn't lost on Morrison: I'm sad too. Where The Book of Boba Fett Season 2? Where the hell is Season 2? I know they're doing Ahsoka Season 2. I'm going, 'Ah, where's my Season 2? More on Ahsoka 'That Would Be Canon, Right?': Skeleton Crew's Ravi Cabot-Conyers Wants A Crossover With Ahsoka, And Tells A Cool Story About Meeting Rosario Dawson From a critical standpoint, Book of Boba Fett proved to be one of the more divisive entries in the expansive science-fiction franchise. It did receive praise for its action as well as the performance of its leading man. However, the show was also criticized for its pacing, use of Star Wars tropes and inclusion of significant storylines related to other TV properties. For instance, the show notably marked the reunion of Din Djarin and Grogu of The Mandalorian, which was viewed as odd by some viewers. Nevertheless, reports on Fett's viewership suggested it was successful amongst viewers. Honestly, I'd be curious to see what EPs Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Robert Rodriguez would do with an additional season of the Boba-centric show. However, in the meantime, I can't stop thinking about the suggestion Temuera Morrison floated for Ahsoka's second season: I'm trying to ring them up. Can I be Rex and take his helmet off, please? Considering that all of the clone troopers, including Captain Rex, were developed from Jango Fett's DNA (like Boba), Temuera Morrison could absolutely appear on Ahsoka. Morrison even briefly cameos as a homeless trooper on an episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. In terms of the Ahsoka Tano series, it would make sense for Rex to appear. At this point, it's fair to say that the show is – in many ways – a follow-up to the animated series Star Wars Rebels, on which Rex is an ally of the Ghost crew and Tano. With that said, given how far Ahsoka has already fallen down that rabbit hole, I say why not just have Temuera Morrison appear at Rex. It may not be out of the realm of possibility, though plot details are scarce right now. Whatever the case, I'm just hopeful that there's an opportunity for Morrison to return to the fold at some point. Check out both The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka's first season on Disney+.
