Indian Meterological deparment ((IMD) issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in East Rajasthan on Monday, July 28. Heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall are very likely over East Rajasthan. While orange alert has been issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, south interior Karnataka, Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh. The weather department also stated that some isolated regions of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Goa, West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to observe likely to witness heavy rainfall. On the other hand thunderstorm accomapnied with lightning and gutsy wind are very likely at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Orissa and Telangana. Alternatively, Strong surface winds are very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Lakshwadeep, Odisha and Tamil Nadu Poducherry and Karaikal. However, Squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50kmph gusting to 60kmph likely to prevail over many parts of East central Arabian sea & Adjoining, some parts of westcentral Arabian sea, many parts of southeast Arabian sea and adjoining, some parts of southweat Arabian sea, many parts of northeast Arabian sea & Adjoining parts of Northweat Arabian sea, along and off north Gujarat, Kerala, North Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bangladesh Coasts, over Lakshadweep and off Srilanka Coast and Andaman Sea. Weather Update For Delhi According to IMD, Delhi is likely to experience Generic cloudy skies, light to moderate rains accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning. Today, temperature will vary between 23-31 Degree Celcius. Weather Insights For Delhi Residents Delhi faced continuous showers from few days, causing waterlogging in areas like ITO, Minto Bridge, and parts of Gurugram. Rain fury: Over 30 villages in Banaskantha put on alert, 350 people relocated
While two deaths were reported in Jamnagar district more than 30 villages in Dhanera and Tharad talukas along the Rail river in Banaskantha have been put on alert as the district received heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday. Also, 19 panchayat roads were closed in the district. Two male labourers from Madhya Pradesh died after lightning strike on Thursday in Sevak Dhuniya village in Lalpur taluka of Jamnagar district, Jamnagar collector K B Thakkar told The Indian Express adding that two others were taken to the district hospital for treatment after sustaining burns. Banaskantha Collector Mihir Patel told The Indian Express that 350 people were relocated from villages of Palanpur taluka in Banaskantha district on Thursday. In the last 24 hours ending at 5 pm on Thursday, Vadgam, Palanpur and Dantiwada talukas received 8.6 inch, 6.1 inch and 6 inch of rainfall, respectively. 'All schools in talukas of Palanpur, Vadgam, Dhanera, Amirgadh and Deesa were closed on Thursday. No casualty, however, was reported. The situation is under control,' Patel also said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Banaskantha for July 6, along with Sabarkantha and Aravalli. As per an IMD forecast, while the state is expected to receive heavy rainfall till July 9, an orange alert has been issued in the districts of Sabarkantha and Aravalli for July 5 and Navsari and Valsad for July 7 and 8. Districts of Banaskantha and Sabarkantha received heavy rainfall till 6 pm on Thursday. While Idar in Sabarkantha recorded 5.5 inch (140 mm) of rainfall, Dhanera recieved 116 mm, Dantiwada 81 mm, Vadgam 81 mm, Palanpur in Banaskantha district received 63 mm. Other districts in Saurashtra region including Rajkot, Jamnagar, Surendranagar, Botad and Junagadh received heavy rainfall on Thursday. In theses dictricts, Jamkandorna recieved 110 mm rainfall, Dhoraji 83 mm, Jodiya 101 mm, Lalpur 86 mm, Chuda 84 mm, Wadhwan 78 mm, Bhiloda 67 mm, Vadnagar 65 mm, Jetpur 64 mm, Rajkot 62 mm, Ranpur 58 mm, Kalavad 57 mm. As per the IMD, the state continues to be on alert owing to the 'monsoon trough that continues to pass through Bikaner, Sheopur, Khajuraho, Daltonganj, Digha and thence east southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal, cyclonic circulation over central parts of west Rajasthan, trough from northeast Arabian sea to northwest Bay of Bengal across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, the cyclonic circulation over north Odisha adjoining Gangetic west Bengal between tilting south-westwards'.

LoPAR to induce heavy rains in many parts of state this week
BHUBANESWAR : A low pressure area is likely to form over west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around Tuesday and is expected to trigger heavy rainfall in parts of Odisha this week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said. The national weather forecaster has predicted heavy rainfall in some places of the state between Tuesday and Saturday. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput districts on Tuesday and Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts on Wednesday. Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Manorama Mohanty said, 'Some parts of Odisha will receive heavy rainfall from Tuesday onwards under the influence of the low pressure area. We are closely monitoring the weather system.' The regional met office has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thundershower activity in many parts of the state between Monday and Friday. Squally weather with wind speeds exceeding 45 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha coast on Thursday and Friday and sea condition is likely to remain moderate to rough during this period, it said. In view of the situation, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea from Wednesday and along and off Odisha coast from Thursday. Meanwhile, some places in the state witnessed rainfall activity on Sunday under the influence of the upper air trough running from east-central Arabian sea to north Odisha. Paradip received 35.4 mm rainfall and Rayagada 31 mm between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm on the day.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued orange alert for heavy rains in Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal. A yellow alert is in place in Tamil Nadu and Delhi. Pre-monsoon showers and strong winds brought life to a standstill in Delhi on Wednesday, days after severe waterlogging was reported in Bengaluru and Mumbai after heavy rain. The Bengaluru Regional Meteorological centre has warned against heavy rain, thunderstorm, lightening and strong winds today at Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts. Furthermore, moderate downpours are likely in Bellari, Bengaluru, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Tumakuru and Vijayanagara districts. The Mumbai Regional Meteorological Center noted that cyclonic circulation over Arabian sea is expected to bring rainfall, thunderstorm and gusty winds until May 24. IMD official Shubhangi Bhute informed that rainfall activity over Maharashtra, including south Konkan, south central Maharashtra and Mumbai, may increase over the next few days under the influence of the cyclonic circulation. "There is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunder at some places, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph or possibly higher at isolated locations," PTI quoted Shubhangi Bhute as saying. The Kolkata Regional Meteorological Center issed an orange alert, warning against heavy rainfall, thunderstrom, lightening and strong winds on May 22 in Jhargham, West Midnapur, North and South 24 Parganas and Nadia districts of South Bengal. The Regional Meteorological Department of Delhi has issued a yellow alert for today and tomorrow, a day after sudden thunderstorm and heavy rains wreaked havoc across Delhi-NCR. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy sky and hot and humid weather conditions will prevail on May 22. IMD Scientist Naresh Kumar on Wednesday said, 'Throughout this month, Western Disturbances brought light rainfall and thunderstorms to parts of Northwest India, keeping temperatures lower. But in recent days, with clear skies and no disturbances, temperatures have gradually risen.' Currently, IMD's heatwave warnings are in place for Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh and South Uttar Pradesh. Red alert has been issued for Rajasthan, where temperatures could reach up to 47°C in the coming days, the IMD scientist said. "The southwest monsoon is now expected to hit Kerala within 3–4 days and is likely to move further into parts of Bengal and the Northeast shortly after," ANI quoted Naresh Kumar as saying. IMD warned against heavy to very heavy rain in Sikkim in the wake of cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. The weather agency suggested that is a risk of floods, landslides and travel disruption on May 22.
