Step 2: Based on Availability If refurbished parts are available, they are used for the repair, saving cost and reducing environmental waste. If they are not available, the insurer shifts to new parts. Step 3: Payment Conditions You pay the difference between refurbished and new part costs only if you choose new parts when refurbished ones are available. This simple process ensures that eco-friendly choices are always presented first, and cost-effective too. Special Focus on Electric and Hybrid Vehicles In line with India's push toward electric mobility, Bajaj Allianz has also included special care for electric and hybrid vehicles under this initiative. The Eco Assure Add-On, combined with related protection covers, gives EV owners better value and greener repair options that align with their eco-conscious vehicle choice. In case of Total Loss or Constructive Total Loss, the valuation will depend on the type of parts used. All claims are subject to the general terms and conditions of the motor insurance policy. Always read the complete sales brochure or consult with a Bajaj Allianz representative to understand your eligibility and policy fit. Why Eco Assure Matters for a Greener Tomorrow? The Eco Assure Add-On isn't just about protecting your car, it's about preserving our planet. By encouraging the use of refurbished parts and minimising waste, this offering reflects the shift we must make as responsible vehicle owners and citizens. Choosing such an add-on is more than a financial decision, it's a lifestyle choice. You're not only getting enhanced car insurance protection but also supporting sustainable practices that reduce automotive waste, emissions, and costs. In Conclusion If you're a car owner looking for smarter, greener ways to safeguard your vehicle, then the Bajaj Allianz Eco Assure add-on deserves your attention. It adds a much-needed eco-conscious dimension to the otherwise traditional car insurance experience. From hotel cancellation to loss of baggage, Ahmedabad air crash victims opted for array of insurance

'We have received claims primarily under travel insurance and personal accident insurance products. These include accidental death, trip cancellations, loss of baggage and hotel cancellations. The incident has triggered claims under various insurance categories like travel, personal accident, and life insurance, including those from Kisan Credit Card holders. Ahmedabad, Jul 13 (PTI) From hotel booking cancellations to loss of baggage, and from accidental death coverage to trip plan withdrawals, insurance companies have received a range of claims from the kin of the Ahmedabad Air India plane tragedy victims. 'At ICICI Lombard, we are working on a priority basis to provide seamless assistance and ensure timely settlement. We remain committed to supporting our policyholders and their families during this difficult time,' Priya Deshmukh, Head Health Products, Operations & Services, ICICI Lombard, said in response to a query by PTI. On June 12, the London-bound Boeing 787 Dreamliner began to lose thrust almost immediately after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport and ploughed into a medical college hostel in Meghaninagar area, killing all but one of the 242 onboard and another 19 on the ground in the deadliest aviation accident in a decade. Bajaj Allianz General Insurance said it has received claims related to personal accidents and marine cargo. 'We have received three claims related to travel personal accidents coverage and one under marine cargo insurance,' Bajaj Allianz General Insurance said in response to a PTI query. Marine cargo insurance typically covers goods in transit via road, rail, air, sea, or courier. Personal accident claims have emerged as a significant category, second only to life insurance. However, most insurers have refrained from disclosing the exact number or details of claims, citing the ongoing process of receiving formal requests from the families of the deceased. In one notable case, a group personal accident policy covering 4,000 people in Mehsana district resulted in a claim settlement within a week of the crash, a representative of the insurer said. A New India Assurance official said the company has settled seven claims related to personal accidents and five group personal accident claims. One claim of Rs 50,000 was availed under the Kisan Credit Card scheme. Immediately after the accident, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) issued directives to fast-track the settlement of claims. In a circular dated June 14, the IRDAI asked all insurance companies to submit weekly updates on claims from June 16 onwards and further directed them to appoint nodal officers, waive formalities such as FIRs and postmortem reports, and expedite disbursals under life and personal accident policies. Company representatives said they have been expediting the claims received from the families. They said several kin are still grappling with the loss and would eventually approach them if there are any claims. Axis Max Life Insurance COO Manu Lavanya said that under the company's InstaClaim process, 'we were able to settle a claim for one of the victims of the tragedy within just three hours, which reflects our focus on empathetic action when it matters most.' Pet treatment getting costly: Here's why having a pet insurance cover can help

Source of stress Myths among pet parents Hassle-free claim settlement No cashless option Our pets are more than just animals—they're family. They shower us with unconditional love and, in return, we do everything we can to keep them happy and healthy. However, when illness strikes, the emotional toll on pet parents is immense; so is the financial for a pet means making sure their health needs are addressed without delay. Yet, many pet parents hesitate to visit a veterinarian, not because they don't care, but because they're worried about the cost.'We did an internal survey and it revealed that many pet owners don't take their pets to the vet, hoping for self-recovery because they can't afford to get them treated,' says Arti Mulik, Chief Technical Officer at Universal Sompo General Insurance (USGI). Pet insurance , though still a niche product in India, can help bridge this gap, offering both financial support and peace of mind during emergencies. Take the case of Gurugram-based Meenakshi Goel, and Peanut and Butter, her two Indie (mixed breed native to India) dogs. After a visit to the vet for one of them left her with a `7,000 bill, she decided to get insurance for both from Bajaj Allianz General Insurance . 'I haven't filed a claim yet, but I sleep better knowing that if something happens, I won't have to choose between treatment and affordability,' she concern is widely shared. A USGI survey of 235 pet owners found that 90% considered veterinary costs a major burden, while 74% said it caused financial stress. Serious conditions like fractures, chronic illness, or cancer can easily rack up bills ranging from Rs.10,000 to over Rs.1 lakh—expense that could hit hard without a financial signs of need for insurance, awareness remains low. Only 26% of the surveyed pet parents had heard of pet insurance, and a mere 10% had purchased it. 'Most of the clients who visit our clinic are unaware that such a product exists, even though it can be extremely useful and necessary,' says Dr B.K. Chaudhary, a veterinarian at Dog and Cat Clinic in added that low agent interest is also to blame, explaining, 'The ticket size and premium are small, so agents don't find it attractive from a commission standpoint.'Even if people are aware, misconceptions often keep them from purchasing a policy. Chennai-based A. Thirumaal, a doctor who is a parent to two cats, explored pet insurance, but ultimately decided against it. 'There are too many exclusions, and most plans are designed with dogs in mind. A cat specific product would be more relevant for me,' he main concern is that his cats often wander outdoors and have been seriously injured in fights with stray dogs, an issue that has already cost him two pets. 'I couldn't find any insurance that covers such incidents,' Dr Thirumaal adds. However, his assumption is misplaced. Most insurers offer 'accidental injury cover' that includes such scenarios. A deeper understanding of policy inclusions and exclusions could help pet owners like Dr Thirumaal clear their misunderstandings about what's not belief that pet insurance comes with too many exclusions is largely unfounded. Some of the pet insurance plans (see table) available in the market cover most of the commonly occurring illnesses like fractures, cancer, or terminal diseases. 'Diseases that are typically excluded from coverage are those rarely found in cats or dogs, except for gastrointestinal issues, which may be covered with extra premium,' says Dr also maintain transparency. Exclusions are clearly listed in the policy brochure and are usually communicated during the purchase process. These could include age eligibility, which is a common concern among pet parents. Most insurers cover pets between the ages of three months and seven years, with renewals often allowed up to 11-12 treatments are another common exclusion, but it shouldn't be a concern. 'Dogs usually develop dental issues at a much later stage, typically after 13-14 years of age,' says Dr Chaudhary. Given that most policies cap coverage well before that age, excluding dental treatments can be seen as a reasonable insurers offer standalone covers, which can be customised as per one's need. The premium depends on the type and number of covers you opt for.'There are no real downsides to buying pet insurance. Claim rejection issues are virtually unheard of,' says Arpita Lal, Head of Pet Insurance at Chaudhary echoed the sentiment, noting that none of his clients faced trouble while filing claims, unless their pet had a pre-existing condition. The problem, he said, usually lies in policyholders being ignorant about a specific visit or issue not being covered. This underscores the importance of reading the fine print and understanding exactly what illnesses and procedures are included. Pet insurance doesn't work like standard health insurance where there the sum insured covers hospitalisation, surgery, etc. Instead, you can choose from several specific covers offered by the insurer. Figuring out which one suits your pet's needs can often be confusing. 'It's advisable to consult a vet to determine which options are best suited for you,' adds Dr Chaudhary. A pet's breed, age, and gender can significantly influence its health needs—and consequently, the insurance premium. For instance, golden retrievers are more prone to cancer-related issues than other breeds. Hence, a terminal illness cover is a must while purchasing insurance for visit to the veterinarian made her realise how costly procedures can and Butter (both 5 years)IndiesBajaj AllianzRs.5,000 yearly for bothOPD, surgery, hospitalisation, mortality, terminal illness, third-party starters, a typical pet plan offering coverage of up to Rs.2-3 lakh costs around Rs.10,000 a year, which is adequate for most standard veterinary needs. If you find the premium too high, there is also the option of co-payment, where you agree to bear a fixed percentage of the bill, and the insurer covers the rest. The higher the co-pay option you choose, the lower your annual important thing to note is that cashless claims are not currently offered by any insurer in India. Pet parents need to pay the veterinary costs up front and then file for reimbursement. This process can sometimes take 2-3 months, depending on the claim's that products are not comprehensive enough to suit the unique needs of a cat, which is a misconception.A. Thirumaal, ChennaiZoe (2.5 years) and Penny (1.5 years)IndiesThe pet insurance industry in India is still at a nascent stage and requires significant improvements before it can cater to a larger segment of customers. At present, most plans cover only cats and dogs. Other pets like birds or rabbits are left out. A survey conducted by pet website, Dogster, found that only a smaller niche of Indian pet parents, around 32,000, owns exotic animals, such as turtles, lemurs and snakes. Unfortunately, they currently have no access to insurance options for their you fall in this category or feel pet insurance does not align with your needs, it's advisable to maintain an emergency fund dedicated to your pet. This will ensure that any unexpected medical expenses don't strain your budget.

Many opt for premium travel insurance cover amid global flight disruptions

1 2 3 Pune: Holiday and business travellers are now increasingly purchasing more expensive travel insurance policies, experts said, as anxieties mounted over possible disruptions such as Covid surges, war, hospitalizations abroad and issues with airline safety. In Pune too, flyers said they did not mind paying the premium, as long as a range of unforeseen events were covered. "A basic travel insurance policy to Thailand typically costs Rs 500-600 for a week, but I paid Rs 1,100 for one that also covered medical emergencies and theft," said Rahul Sejpal, a resident of Wanowrie, who flew recently to the southeast Asian country. Naresh Upadhyay, a resident of Hadapsar, also purchased an expensive insurance cover for an upcoming Europe trip. "There have been serious flight disruptions due to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. So I opted for a wider insurance cover, one that accounts for these uncertainties," he said. Meet Kapadia, head of travel insurance at PolicyBazaar, said 62% of travellers today pick policies with coverage of $250,000 (over Rs 2 crore) or more, up from the earlier benchmark of $100,000 (over Rs 86 lakh). Kapadia said: "We've observed a clear shift towards higher-value coverage, especially for destinations such as Europe. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New Cooling Tech Making Ductless ACs Go Mainstream [take a look] Keep Cool Click Here Undo Individuals between 55 and 70 years of age, in particular, are even opting for coverage exceeding $500,000 (over Rs 4 crore), largely driven by concerns of high hospitalisation costs abroad and need for medical support. " Kapadia also said PolicyBazaar has recorded a 40% increase in purchase of travel insurance policies for the summer this year, compared to the same period last year. Of great concern, have been the geopolitical flare-ups along several key flight paths. Data from real-time plane-tracker FlightRadar24 showed thinning air traffic over regions of Israel, Iraq, Iran and Ukraine as pilots squeezed into safe corridors that avoided these conflict zones. Besides geopolitics, geological events too have hit headlines. The recent eruptions of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in Indonesia grounded at least 87 flights to and from Bali — 66 international and 21 domestic ones. Bali airport officials said the volcano impacted critical air connections to Australia, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia. The flights resumed three days later, on Thursday, June 19. "There may be a shift towards purchasing additional covers along with travel insurance as a standard part of people's travel preparations," said Bhaskar Nerurkar, head of the health administration team at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. "Many individuals are now proactively seeking information about various aspects of their policies, particularly regarding trip cancellations, medical emergencies, cancellations for any reason, and protections against geopolitical disruptions," he said. Surender Tonk, vice President of Insurance Brokers Association of India (IBAI), said Covid was another factor. Earlier this month, at least 5 countries and regions, including Hong Kong and parts of US - all experiencing upticks of cases - sent out travel advisories urging people to avoid non-essential travel. "People are opting and preferring to go for higher insured travel insurance policies due to these uncertainties," Tonk said. "The Covid-19 pandemic raised awareness related to travel risks and hence witnessed more demand for comprehensive travel insurance policies," he added.

Policy shift: Health cover rates vary across states

MUMBAI: With healthcare costs varying widely across Indian states, insurers are shifting away from uniform pricing toward region-specific health policies. Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has launched customised state-wise health insurance plans, adjusting premiums and benefits to reflect local medical costs, infrastructure, and regulations. Bajaj Allianz General Insurance's initiative is designed to address inefficiencies in traditional one-size-fits-all pricing. "The idea behind this cover is to increase coverage of the missing-middle by making health insurance more affordable for them," said Bhaskar Nerurkar, head of health administration at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. "At present, there is an element of cross-subsidy where people in areas with low-cost healthcare end up subsidising for those with higher costs. " Narayana Health was among the first to offer region-specific policies linked to its hospitals. Bajaj Allianz General Insurance takes this further by refining prices at the state level. While policies are sold based on current residence, policyholders can still receive treatment anywhere in the country. "Regional variations in healthcare claims frequency and severity across India are significantly influenced by diverse factors, including the specific causes for hospitalization," said Satish Gidugu, CEO of Medi Assist, the largest third-party administrator. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scam Exposed: What They Won't Tell You about zero trust!
