APD: Man dies in northeast Austin crash on Sunday morning
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 34-year-old man died in a crash early Sunday morning in northeast Austin, according to the Austin Police Department. Police identified the man as Isidro Montero Reyes. The crash happened at about 4:30 a.m. in the area of the northbound State Highway 130 to westbound Highway 290 ramp between exits 437B and 437A. Officers responded to the scene for a single-vehicle crash, APD said. Reyes, who was the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. APD said their initial assessment of what happened, including the information regarding fatality, could change, and the investigation is still pending. Suspect charged in his brother's homicide: Austin Police
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police said its officers arrested a man after a June 6 shooting at a north Austin residence, according to a press release. APD also identified the victim as Warren Stewart, 36, in the release. Tevin Stewart, 31, is charged with first-degree murder. He and Warren were brothers and both lived at the Halifax Drive residence, APD said. KXAN reached out to Tevin's attorney for his response to the charge. The release notes that Austin-Travis County EMS medics arrived at the scene around 10:28 p.m. on June 6. ATCEMS called APD after realizing that a shooting had occurred. Suspects charged for stealing over $3K of items in Austin, Buda: APD

In total, over $3,000 worth of items were stolen from various stores. Officials conducted a "shoplifting blitz" operation in the Lakeline Mall area. This operation was conducted as an ongoing effort to help local retailers to stop shoplifting. The backstory On Tuesday, June 3, around 12:50 p.m., officers responded to a report at Kohl's, at 11111 Lakeline Blvd., regarding two people who were removing security tags and unpaid hiding merch while in the store. When officers arrived, they spoke with store employees, who told them the suspects hid several items in reusable shopping bags and a woman's purse. Officers then found the suspects as they left the store with the stolen items. The suspects got into a black Tesla with the stolen merch and were then taken into custody. About $1,600 worth of merch was stolen from Kohl's. They also found several other stolen items worth around $2,000 that were taken from H-E-B and Home Depot on the same day. There were even stolen items from a Walmart in Buda a few days prior. Officers also found evidence of identity theft and fraud, as well as meth. Ada Johnson was charged with theft with two prior convictions and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Daryl Johnson was charged with theft. The Brief Man shot another in the head during an argument about money Man was arrested on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon The victim later died at the hospital, and suspect is now charged with murder AUSTIN, Texas - A man is now facing a murder charge after a shooting last week at a Northwest Austin apartment complex. What we know 27-year-old Waleed Beriji is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of 26-year-old Noah Talbott. On Thursday May 29, just after midnight, Austin police officers responded to a shoot/stab hotshot call at the Westdale Point Apartments at 7117 Wood Hollow Drive, just off Far W Boulevard and North Mopac. Someone called 911 and reported someone had been shot. When officers arrived, they found Talbott with a gunshot wound to the head. Talbott was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died over 24 hours later. The suspect, later identified as Beriji, had left the scene before officers arrived. The investigation that followed showed that the two men had been involved in a fight regarding money. Talbott escorted Beriji to the door, and Beriji allegedly pulled out a handgun from his bag and shot Talbott in the head before fleeing the scene. APD arrested Beriji in the 3000 block of South Congress, over 12 miles away from the scene, and booked him into the Travis County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. After Talbott was pronounced dead, Beriji was charged with murder. What's next Beriji is still in the Travis County Jail on $300,000 bond with the conditions that he have a GPS monitor, no contact with the complaining witness and a drug evaluation. Beriji also had an existing warrant from the Travis County Sheriff's Office for assaulting a family member by impeding their breath or circulation from last year, according to court records.
