Christophe Galtier to be appointed manager of Neom SC
After two years in the Qatar Stars League, Christophe Galtier may be on his way to Saudi Arabia this summer. The two-time Ligue 1 Manager of the Year is reportedly on the verge of being named the new coach at Neom SC in the Saudi Pro League, as per L'Équipe. While nothing has been confirmed by the club, L'Équipe reported on Saturday that the Marseille-born coach had reached an agreement to coach the Saudi club until June 2027. Advertisement Galtier has been looking for work since leaving Qatari club Al-Duhali SC in May, having guided them to the 2024-25 Qatari Stars Cup. The Frenchman won two Ligue 1 titles as a manager, coaching Lille OSC to the trophy in 2020-21 and Paris Saint-Germain in 2022-23, his only season in charge of Les Parisiens. At Neom, Galtier will find prolific Ligue 1 goalscorer Alexandre Lacazette (34), who parted ways with Olympique Lyonnais earlier this summer, moving the the Saudi Pro League – a deal expected to be confirmed in the coming days. Al-Duhail's French manager Christophe Galtier has left the club after they decided not to renew his contract, the Qatar Stars League outfit said on Tuesday. The 58-year-old's Al-Duhail side finished second in the league, two points behind Al-Sadd, who beat them in the Qatar Cup final on penalties. They also exited the Emir Cup early. "The management of Al Duhail Sports Club extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the technical director of the first team, Mr Christophe Galtier, and his coaching staff following the end of his contract with the club. We wish them all the best in their next endeavors," the club said on X. Al-Duhail appointed former Paris St Germain manager Galtier in October 2023 to replace Argentine Hernan Crespo.

The former Paris Saint-Germain coach joined Al Duhail in October 2023, replacing Argentine tactician Hernan Crespo. 'The management of Al Duhail Sports Club extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the technical director of the first football team, Mr. Christophe Galtier, and his assistant staff, following the end of his contract with the club. We wish them all the best in their next endeavors,' Al Duhail said in a statement on X. Al Duhail ended the season without a trophy, finishing as runners-up in both the QSL and the Qatar Cup, with Al Sadd claiming both titles. They were also eliminated from the Amir Cup at the quarter-final stage after a loss to Al Rayyan.
