Juventus keen on Benfica's Rui Pedro Braz for vacant sporting director role
Juventus are preparing to wait until September to appoint a sporting director, as reports from Italy claim the Bianconeri have one eye cast firmly on Benfica's outgoing Rui Pedro Braz. According to what has been reported by the Corriere dello Sport this morning, Braz has already signalled his intentions to leave Benfica before the club's elections in October and Juventus are extremely keen on having the Portuguese director fill their vacant role. Until then, Juventus in Comolli's hands… For now then, Damien Comolli will remain in control of the Bianconeri's transfer window. The newly appointed general manager will oversee the remainder of the summer market, with François Modesto as his right-hand man. With the Old Lady in no rush to appoint a new sporting director, the timing of Braz's Benfica departure is perfect. The Bianconeri can wait until the end of the transfer window, with Comolli in charge in the meantime, and then sign the perfect candidate without the pressure of the Mercato. The same reports indicate that should Juventus fail to secure Braz as their new sporting director, Genoa's Marco Ottolini is an alternate candidate – having worked amongst the Bianconeri set-up until 2022.

Trump questions Juventus on women in men's team; players exchange awkward glances- Watch video
Screengrab During a White House visit on Wednesday, Juventus football players and staff found themselves in an awkward moment when US president Donald Trump turned their ceremonial visit into a political talking point. The Italian club, currently in Washington, DC, for the Club World Cup, was invited to the Oval Office ahead of their match against Al Ain of the UAE. With players, including US internationals Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah, standing behind him, Trump shifted from general remarks to controversial territory—transgender participation in women's sports. Turning to the team, Trump asked, 'Could a woman make your team, fellas?' The players stayed quiet, exchanging awkward glances. He repeated the question, this time directing it at Juventus General Manager Damien Comolli. Trying to steer clear of controversy, Comolli replied, 'We have a very good women's team,' referring to Juventus Women, the reigning Serie A champions. Trump pressed again: 'But they should be playing with women?' Comolli did not respond. 'See, they're very diplomatic,' Trump quipped. The incident comes hours after the US Supreme Court allowed Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for minors to stand—a ruling seen as a major blow to transgender rights. Trump has made restricting transgender participation in women's sports a key focus of his second-term agenda. In February, he signed an executive order titled 'Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports,' which has triggered policy changes at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and lawsuits in several states.

Tudor confirmed as Juve coach, Kolo Muani to stay for Club World Cup
Igor Tudor will be Juventus coach next season, the Serie A club's new general manager Damien Comolli confirmed yesterday, after failing to snatch Antonio Conte from Serie A champions Napoli. 'Igor Tudor will be our coach for the 2025/26 season. We're working together, and I want to reiterate that he will be our coach next season,' Comolli told reporters during a press conference. Juve had pushed to bring back club icon Conte, who won three straight league titles as coach of the Turin giants between 2011 and 2014. But Conte decided to stay at Napoli and defend the Scudetto, leading to Juve to decide to stick with Tudor who replaced sacked Thiago Motta in March and guided the club to next season's Champions League. Tudor will lead Juve at the upcoming Club World Cup in the USA where the Italians face Al Ain, Wydad AC and Manchester City in the group stage. Also taking part in the Club World Cup with Juve will be Comolli's fellow Frenchman Randal Kolo Muani, whose loan from Paris Saint-Germain has been extended for the length of the tournament. Comolli added that Juve were hoping to extend Kolo Muani's stay for next season after a promising spell in Italy since arriving in January from PSG where he was frozen out by Luis Enrique.
