Good Boy – K-drama Episode 11 Recap & Review

Countdown Episode 11 of Good Boy starts with us in Sao Paulo 2018 with Dong-ju competing for the gold. He points out how, in boxing, you have to wait for an opening and strike when the moment presents itself. This cuts us back to the present, as Dong-ju leaves another illegal business with a pile of dead bodies in his wake. However, this has also taken a toll on his relationship with Han-na too. While Man-sik continues to wallow in self-pity over what's transpired, Gwang-se is in the line of fire. A warning goes out looking for a chubby male in his 40's with a bald eagle tattoo. He meets with Man-sik undercover (or at least the best he can!) and isn't happy about the 'waste of tax payer funds'. He does know though that Gwang-se is feeding Dong-ju inside info and demands to know where he is. Elsewhere, Jong-hyeon returns to the station and is called in by Forensics to take a look at a file. There are 2 unidentified bodies here and it brings him on a collision course with Han-na and the others, who are also out investigating in their own way. Han-na is piecing together fragments of the Oh Dollar case. Han-na receives the name of a shady area called Hyedong Oil, which is precisely where Man-sik and Jong-hyeon are also situated. As everybody scrambles to the rooftop, the group are joined together in harmony as they fight off a bunch of gangsters. Even Gwang-se helps by pushing barrels at them! Afterwards, Dong-ju speaks to the team about his findings. He admits that he's beaten a whole bunch of guys for their watches but even now, he's not got any answers. He knows there's a whole load of money behind this operation but nobody seems to know its origin. Except for Ju-young of course. Jong-hyeon may actually have a bit of a clue though. Remember the dead bodies he learned about with forensics? Well, one of the bodies was missing his front teeth so their thinking is that it could be Silver Bunny. If he's dead, this would mean Gold Bunny may actually talk to themabout what he knows. Now, trhe bad guys are actually held up over in Insung City, at the Goldengate Central City construction site to be precise. Ju-young tasks Jong-gu qwith overseeing operations for the time being, which doesn't go over well, while Ju-young decides to use Mr Baek to distribute out drugs in Insung City, but doing so quietly behind Yeon-ha's back. Yeon-ha is still clinging to hope that she'll see her sister, and she's being worked to exhaustion. Leo actually helps her out and offers her a boat ride back to Russia too. However, Yeon-ha is determined to do right by her sister, given she made a promise back in the day to come for her and they pinky-promised. You certainly don't break one of those! Meanwhile, Ju-young invites Dong-ju out for lunch. He's paying of course, so Dong-ju stuffs his face. He isn't deterred by Ju-young's threats and seems in a much more upbeat mood compared to the last time they met. It seems like he has the upper-hand. As for Ju-young, he's bitter and discontent with life and believes nothing good comes from working hard. Flashbacks show more of this, with Ju-young originally on the straight and narrow, working hard to pass his civil service exam. That is, until smugglers found him and beat the guy down. Having heard his life aspirations, the smuggler sees potential and offers him more money and a way to get ahead of the masses. With one of these watches we've been seeing so much of, Ju-young ditched the straight and narrow, embracing going all-in as a criminal. Jong-hyeon heads over with the DNA results to the prison, which confirm Silver Bunny was their guy. Golden Bunny then talks, revealing that Ju-young is on another level. He has unimaginable wealth, and he doesn't count it like normal people – he weighs it. In tons. All of Insung runs by his money, from top to bottom. Ju-young has basically turned this entire city into his own playground. This is where Oh Dollar comes into it. One of the Russians who used to work under him now works with Ju-young, whose name is Sergei Vronsky. He was also a witness with the Oh Dollar murder case, and Dong-ju has actually seen the guy before. They're not going to call back-up though (I mean they haven't for the whole season so why start now?) and they can't really get Jae-hong to jump onboard too, given he has kids to provide for, it's not so easy for him to abandon everything. The group do eventually track down Sergei and learn that he can actually speak Korean (the subtitles say he's 'speaking English but that's obviously not true. Ignore Amazon's terrible subtitles here!) With the façade slipped, the group bring Sergei back to their hideout and spook him into talking. Sergei reveals there's a cash container but it could be hidden in 53 different places. They need to find it before Ju-young catches on to what they're doing, giving them a tight window of time. They need to pretend like nothing is going on so as not to arouse attention. Dong-ju does continue to provoke Ju-young through all of this, sending him numerous selfies, while they slowly cross off each location over the nights. Ju-young starts to catch wind of what's happening eventually, given all the photos Dong-ju has taken. One in particular involves a shipping container at the dock. When he learns about the autopsy report for Silver Bunny too, he heads off to the dock, where he finds a shipping container… and all his money gone. As he screams to the heavens, angered by this, the rest of the team observe and listen to his screams. It seems the tide may be turning now. The Episode Review So it seems Jae-hong has officially been relegated to the backburner in this series which is disappointing to be honest because his character arc is actually quite good. We do learn about Ju-young's past a bit here though and understanding how he turned to a life of crime. He's clearly equated money with success and done everything he possibly can to obtain as much as he can, regardless of who he hurts along the way. This is not dissimilar to Ironheart of course, which debuted earlier this week with the exact same arc. Only, Riri is framed as a hero, go figure. Back to Good Boy though, and this episode now starts to evolve the plot in ways that doesn't just see our good guys beaten to a pulp and left reeling. They're not on the front foot and it'll be interesting to see how Ju-young reacts. If this guy has his hand in every business though, he should be absolutely rolling in it right? It would be akin to stealing a bunch of cash from Jeff Bezos – sure it would put a dent in his bank balance, but he'd accumulate it back simply through interest and business ventures. The idea of an entire city being built on blood money is an interesting one, but it also means that this guy should be nigh-on impossible to take out unless you get to the heart of the issue or expose the root cause of corruption. As I said before, I hope the show doesn't go the route of Itaewon Class and throws in a last minute twist to take him down. However, the ending does seem to hint that things are about to pick up in a big way so we'll have to wait and see what the writers have cooking. Good Boy – K-drama Episode 10 Recap & Review

Time-Out Episode 10 of Good Boy starts with Jong-hyeon shot and falling in the water. Dong-ju dives in and brings his comrade to the surface, while the gangsters all race away at the sound of sirens. Jong-hyeon is rushed to hospital and the team are left with the obligatory waiting room scene, twiddling their thumbs and hoping for the best. Jong-hyeon is moved to intensive care and it appears he's going to pull through. Dong-ju though is still suffering from his neurological issues, but he hasn't told the rest of the team about this yet. Jong-hyeon does regain consciousness but it seems he's going to be out of commission for a while. Dong-ju also realizes when Jong-hyeon hurt his ankle and it seems his condition is even worse now. Ju-young rings the Mayor of Insung but he ignores the call. This obviously irks our antagonist, so he shows up at a big dinner meeting and spoils the party. Ju-young tortures the Mayor into submission, forcing him to send out the Customs department to the dock while also stuffing cash into his mouth. Man-sik is on the back foot too, regretting putting the team together and blaming himself for getting greedy. Unfortunately, their team is also under investigation and unfortunately their department is disbanded. Fast forward 3 months and Jong-hyeon is cleared to leave the hospital. He learns here that all of his colleagues had initially been suspended and now are off working separate gigs. Jae-hong is back working with the traffic police, while Man-sik is stuck dealing with domestic disputes. Han-na has a very unsatisfying records room gig while Dong-ju is on cleaning duty. He's staying with Man-sik for the time being though, and here we see why. Man-sik actually took pity on Dong-ju in the past and realized he didn't have much of a family growing up. After all those fights at school, Manp-ik is the one who encouraged him to get into boxing and channel his anger. Man-sik has always stood by this kid's side, offering up ways to help him when he's lost or fallen. Han-na arrives to see Jong-hyeon at hospital, bringing up what happened between them. He admits he probably should have told her how bad his ankle injury was at the time but would it have made a difference to their relationship? Either way, Jong-hyeon is clearly still pining over her and he gives no illusions that he wants her. Meanwhile, Yeon-ha shows up to see Ju-young. However, he has the upper-hand, given he knows about Yeon-ha's sister and promises that she'll see her very soon… when he last batch of Candy is done. There's a super awkward moment when Ju-young shows up to se Dong-ju next and decides the pair should share a meal together. What begins in jest ends up as a super awkward moment together. Ju-young encourages him to stop fighting as he'll just end up a punching bag forever, but we know that Dong-ju is not going down without a fight, and he'll continue to hit back every chance he has. As for Han-na, she continues to investigate the Black Cat links she heard Leo mention before. Now, the Black Cat Mob organization were operating in the Russian Far East with a famous smuggler who went by the name of Oh Dollar. The guy died 15 years ago though so it could be the Russian mobster killed. Working in the records room, Han-na looks through the Oh Dollar case file, listed as 'Smuggle Oh Bong-chan' and learns that the cause of death is presumed to be a gunshot to the head. As for Dong-ju, he does his best to take out Ju-young's goons, targeting them thanks to the watches and doing what he can to disrupt Ju-young's business. He targets each illegal business one by one, getting them shut down and the operations suspended. The other team members see the news reports and realize Dong-ju is back on the prowl. He's down but certainly not out, and as he heads to the next spot, he prepares to strike. The Episode Review So as we cross the halfway point of the show it's starting to become clear that the series is falling into a one-note stereotype, with the group being beaten up and knocked down with absolutely zero plot progression. In fact, episode 10 jumps forward several months and still nothing has changed. If anything, Ju-young is even more powerful than he was before and the rest of the group have been taken off the case, even though they seem to be the only ones who actually care about taking these criminals down. The action is definitely keeping this one watchable though and some of the cliffhangers have been genuinely impressive and well delivered. This, alongside the acting, are the two main drives to keep watching this one. It's still disappointing that Jae-hong hasn't had much development, while the antagonists have an overwhelming amount of plot armour. I'm hoping that now Dong-ju is taking out the 'watch goons', he'll slowly start to take out the gang leaders one by one, allowing Ju-young's empire to crumble. In some ways, this does feel a bit reminiscent to Itaewon Class, where the Chairman was just so powerful and the only way to stop him was for someone on the inside to make a last second babyface turn and join the good guys to take him down. Could we see this same plot point with Yeon-ha? Either way, Good Boy has been a solid watch but episodes like this, which feature barely any plot progression at all, definitely hold this back from being a better watch. Good Boy – K-drama Episode 6 Recap & Review

Counterpunch Episode 6 of Good Boy begins with Dong-ju infatuated and barely listening to the doctor as he shrugs off the man's concerns. Instead, he blames it on vertigo. He looks with puppy-dog eyes at Han-na and brushes off his symptoms completely , jumping right back into the case again. Min Ju-yeong seems to know exactly what they've been up to, and his history is suspiciously clean. Dong-ju believes he may be using a burner phone, dispatched somewhere around the parking lot. Well, Dong-ju does actually find the phone with a bit of digging, and he finds it ripped into two pieces. Unfortunately, Dong-ju also finds himself trapped inside the drain after retrieving one of the pieces. He teases Jong-hyeon after his kiss with Han-na and this continues their rivalry throughout the episode, as the pair continue to try and one-up the other. The phone is eventually brought back to the lab, where the team confirm fingerprints from Ju-yeong, and trace it back to our slippery customer. Despite being kicked out his mum's noodle shop, Dong-ju continues to look out for Mi-ja, making sure the kids who have been graffitiing the place are reprimanded and kept in check. He isn't too harsh with them though, offering food and being kind, but it doesn't go unnoticed by his mum. In fact, she decides to invite him over the following evening to patch up their issues. Elsewhere, Drug Demon continues to hold up at the safehouse but she's bored and wanting Dong-ju to head back. However, she's intending to head out and find whoever is cooking up fake Candy. This guy is actually at Baukgu Port, so Drug Demon decides to use this intel to fool the police into doing her dirty work. It works a treat, especially as Dong-ju and Han-na (who's fresh off falling out with Gyeong-suk about reopening the case intro her father's death) show up. As all the police race off to find this copycat, going by the name of Bbong-pil, Drug Demon spins her web of deceit. Everybody thinks this is the right play, except for Han-na who isn't sure that Drug Demon can be trusted. After a bit of product placement for Kopiko (to be fair, these candies are super tasty), the group prepare to head out after staking the place the entire night. Bbong-pil shows up at the dock but soon susses that he's being tailed, leading to a big chase. However, it's Dong-ju who comes up short this time, thanks to not being able to swim and ending up in the drink. Regardless, the group check out the lab and realize the stories they know about Drug Demon don't really line up with what they know about this infamous character. Bbong-pil has never heard of Ju-yeong and doesn't seem to know what's going on, even with Dong-ju's unconventional questioning. Dong-ju does get the hair samples and roughs the guy up but it seems Dong-ju also knows that he may not be their guy. The irony is, they've actually done Drug Demon's work for her, taking out another player and letting her continue her operation. At the station, things take an unexpected turn when Jeong-a shows up. She clings to Jong-hyeon like her life depends on it, and it seems she's back from the Philippines now. Dong-ju and the team are tasked with making sure she doesn't run away, and she's inevitably thrown into the same safe house as Drug Demon, whom they still haven't figured out is their guy. While Man-sik delivers a statement to the police about their big win, Jong-hyeon and Han-na have been digging into the records. Now, according to Cheognil Shipping's revenue data, they were among the top domestic shippers in the industry but the following year they deliberately filed for bankruptcy. At that point, TAE corporation bought them out. Furthermore, the company handling the logistics happens to be J9 Security, run by Oh Jong-gu. The same Jong-gu, who's working for Ju-yeong. TAE corporation smuggled in chemicals, disguised as regular Russian frozen pollock, which Jong-gu handed over to the Drug Demon. Ju-yeong was overseeing this entire gig and knew the ins and outs… but its not as simple as jumping in and busting them all. TAE corporation is lead by CEO Steve Roh, whose father holds a lot of power. He happens to be the Mayor of Insung City, Deok-gyu. This is the same guy who's chummy with Commissioner Cho too, so trying to take down this house of cards is not going to be easy. With everything out in the open, Ju-yeong is forced to apologize to the Mayor for messing everything up. Instead, Ju-yeong decides to beat down the Mayor and leave him a bloody mess. He's the one who managed to get the Mayor's name on this, so he beats the guy down and demands he get the traffic case off his back too. This show of power keeps Jung-gu quiet but when questioned, as this maniacal Ju-yeong asks whether he's actually a bad guy, he's not sure how to answer Ju-yeong's question. He chuckles and tells him he's not, but it's clear Ju-yeong is a bit deranged. He's actually annoyed that Dong-ju and the others think he's crooked and he decides to bring some guys onboard that can keep quiet and show how bad he can really be. Man-sik is attacked outside the bathroom by Ju-yeong's goons following their team dinner that night. Unfortunately, they take his gun and bring it straight to Ju-yeong. He fires wildly while being sure to keep his fingerprints off, clearly designed to get Man-sik in trouble. Meanwhile, Han-na learns the truth about Drug Demon and who she really is. Unfortunately, Jeong-a also finds out about her real name and it causes them to leave the safe house together, putting the Captain on edge even more when the place is left a fiery mess. As for Jeon-ha, she brings the Captain's daughter to Ju-yeong, whom she's aligned with. The gun here has one more bullet left and unfortunately, a nasty grin crosses his face as he gets an idea. While the team scramble for answers, Dong-ju receives a present… which happens to be Man-sik's gun with the bullets gone. It turns out Ju-yeong hasn't targeted Jeong-a, he's gone after Gyeong-il. When Dong-ju shows up at the restaurant, he finds her in a bad state. Covered in blood, shot and on oxygen, Dong-ju is grief-stricken. Even worse, the table is all set for their dinner together too, with bits of cucumber on the side. The same cucumber that Ju-yeong would remove methodically from his plate. With his mum dead, Dong-ju shows up at the dock and immediately smacks Ju-yeong clean out, knocking him to the ground. However, we also get scenes here that seem to hint that Dong-ju's brain injury is very serious… will we find out the extent of it next week? The Episode Review Counterpunch is a great name for this episode, given Ju-yeong counters with a horrific blow to Dong-ju and takes out his mum. This whole case has been made that much more serious, and it could well cause even more trauma for Dong-ju too, given his internal injuries. I'd imagine this guy either has CTE or some form of brain injury as a result of his time boxing. The tone in this drama really switches hard from comedy to melodrama, and that ending has seemingly hinted that we're taking a turn down a dark path for the episodes ahead. We do learn this episode about the Mayor being involved as the higher-up, which seemed like an obvious little trope to throw in at this point. However, the twist to this cliched Korean trope is that Ju-yeong seems to be the one in control here rather than subservient to anyone else. The guy effortlessly plays a villain you can't wait to see taken down, while simultaneously, Park Go-bum is acting his heart out as Dong-ju. Given the guy has been typecast as a stoic, quiet nice-guy in many shows, it's great to see him flexing his acting chops and showing what he's capable of. Either way, everything here is left wide open for where it may go next week. Previous Episode Next Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!

Good Boy – K-drama Episode 5 Recap & Review

Punch-Drunk Love Episode 5 of Good Boy begins with us back in the academy days as Dong-ju winds up distracted by Han-na's beauty. Unfortunately he winds up taking a football to the face for his troubles. Lying there on the floor of the track is not dissimilar to where we left off last week's episode as Dong-ju lies on his back, staring up at Han-na. At the station, Ju-yeong is questioned by the officers about his involvement in all the murders. We already knows he's a big player here, but he plays his cards close to his chest and doesn't give anything away. The hit and run vehicle has been found and DNA prints are being run on it but Ju-yeong is unphased. It seems he's happy to bide his time and see how the evidence plays out, but Dong-ju is cocky already, thinking they have their man and it's only a matter of time. Ju-yeong though, is confident this is just the beginning. Dong-ju notices that he keeps checking the time, and that's for good reason. Ju-yeong is well-connected and he soon finds himself joined by the annoying hot-shot prosecutor, Seok-hyeon, who forces the officers (courtesy of the Customs Act) to hand Ju-yeong over to them. On his way out, Han-ma brings up the watches and their connections to the Golden Bunny group and Gyeong-il. Ju-yeong is intrigued but he doesn't crack. The one person who does however, is Dong-ju. He winds up coughing up blood outside and collapsing, forcing him to get hospital care. In his absence, the team find themselves thrown through the ringer back at the office, as the prosecution team completely clear the place out and take off with everything they have. It's here where Man-sik and the others realize the extent of what they're dealing with, and just how slippery a character Ju-yeong is. Jong-hyeon speaks to Han-na and reveals that Ju-yeong seems to be keeping tabs on her. He's worried things could get dangerous and encourages her to switch to a different case. Han-na is having none of that though, believing this might be a good opportunity for her to play the role of bait and lure him in. At the prosecution office, Seok-hyeon drops the smuggling charges against Ju-yeong, officially calling them 'minor', with slap on the wrist punishments. Ju-yeong gets a three-month pay cut and a transfer from Insung Customs. When Man-sik finds out, he's pissed and decides they need to dig deep and try to find a weakness. To be honest though, they don't find much. Ju-yeong largely keeps to himself, save for a bit of a connection to fellow customs worker, Kim Yu-na, while his family died in an accident when he was young. He's originally from Insung where his uncle raised him. As for the finances, Jae-hong has found evidence of a rental deposit of 120 million won, 56 million in savings and a subcompact car. Beyond that though, he's quite meticulous, covering his tracks by using his job at the Customs gig to take these high-profile cars for himself – or destroying them when the heat gets a bit much. Han-na shows up to see Ju-yeong down by the dock and hands over a file for him, using her shooting references to try and get under his skin. These documents detail a symbol with a blue sun setting over water, which links back to Cheong-il Shipping. Ju-yeong was in charge of this for a while and as an officer at Insung Customs, he's obviously got connections. It's Han-na's way of showing him they're getting closer, but it also puts her in the firing line for revenge too. As for the team, they find help in the most unlikely of places. They call on Dae-yong, who believes the clue lies in a Synthetic drug called Candy, disguised in sweet wrappers. Now, Dae-yong knows that the one person responsible for making this stuff is someone called Drug Demon. She's completely insane but unfortunately, Ju-yeong's tendrils are deep in Drug Demon's empire. These ties also link back to Russia too, although the team don't have that much info just yet. Drug Demon is well prepared for the police arriving, and she soon destroys all the evidence of her drug den as the officers arrive en-masse. Dong-ju shows and manages to stop a couple of thugs from a rival gang from killing Drug Demon, but this distraction also causes the whole gang to be stuck in the explosion that ensues after. Dong-ju jumps out the window with Drug Demon and holds onto her, preventing the woman from dying a nasty death. Everybody else comes out of this in one piece too, but Ju-yeong is one step ahead here. This is particularly prevalent because they haven't figured out that Drug Demon is the girl they 'saved' from the gangsters, and she's put under protective custody for the time being. She takes a shining to Dong-ju though, given he's like a knight in shining armour, and grows jealous of his affection for Han-na. In the morning, after more shenanigans between Han-na and Dong-ju in the bathroom, the pair show up at the police ceremony where Pan-yeol is giving a big speech. Whilst there, it's scorching hot but Dong-ju does what he can to try and help Han-na. Afterwards, Dong-ju grabs some drinks but unfortunately, while Han-na seems to be growing affection for him, Dong-ju collapses just as they kiss. The Episode Review Good Boy returns this week with another action-packed episode, although in terms of the investigation, we don't really get too much progression here. We do know that Ju-yeong has connections all over the place, and the Prosecution Office is clearly on his side, and we do briefly see his connections with this gangster, Leo, whom I'm sure we'll learn more about in the coming episodes. The 'love triangle' with Drug Demon toward the end is clearly in this to show the strong connections between Dong-ju and Han-na, but I can't help but think Ju-yeong might exploit this in a way to get Dong-ju to buckle. The rest of the group don't have too much to do here either, largely sticking to the hive mind of trying to track down Ju-yeong and stop him. Right now, that seems like an impossible feat. I can't help but feel someone else is behind all of this though, someone with more connections that's helping Ju-yeong. But for now, we'll have to wait and see if those theories hold any weight! Good Boy – K-drama Episode 2 Recap & Review

Episode 2 Episode 2 of Good Boy continues with the star athletes dueling gangsters and thugs. Ultimately, Dong-ju manages to counter the entire gang at the warehouse, defeating the Golden Bunny as well. At the same time, Man-sik arrives at the location with backup, and they arrest the gang, making Dong-ju an instant hero thanks to his triumph over the Golden Bunny. Meanwhile, Han-na shoots most of her attackers, and Jong-hyun arrives at her house to find them on the floor, hit with paintballs. At the station, the entire athlete squad quickly becomes a sensation. That night, while heading home, Dong-ju meets his brother. It's clear his brother is suffering from the effects of drug use, and Dong-ju urges him to undergo a surgery that could help. However, his brother disappears in the middle of the night, which Dong-ju suspects is the doing of his former coach, the man who got his brother addicted in the first place. The next day, sensing an opportunity to ride their success, Man-sik convinces the commissioner to form a special unit of pro athletes to solve criminal cases. Surprisingly, they're given their own cabin, and the team is thrilled to finally work in the field, all except Jong-hyun. While questioning the Golden Bunny, Dong-ju notices the golden watch on his wrist, the same one worn by the hit-and-run culprit. Before they can interrogate him further, they discover that the commissioner formed the special unit more as a PR stunt than an actual investigative team. The athletes soon find themselves at a public event where the commissioner promotes a new line of bulletproof and knife-proof jackets. He infantilizes Han-na, making her demonstrate by shooting at dummies, until she turns and shoots directly at the commissioner out of frustration, fracturing one of his ribs. She resigns soon after. Trying to protect Han-na, Jong-hyun suggests that the commissioner spin the incident as a staged stunt. The commissioner agrees. The next day, with Han-na absent, Man-sik receives a tip about the people who took the documents. He heads out with Dong-ju and Jae-hong and meets Jong-hyun there, who also received a lead. However, things go sideways when Man-sik, having eaten a drugged candy, becomes intoxicated and accidentally alerts the gangsters. What follows is a hilarious chase, with Man-sik acting like a zombie and scaring the thugs away. During the chaos, Jong-hyun battles one of the thugs for the documents but suffers a panic attack triggered by a past incident during his fencing match. Just as the thug is about to stab Jong-hyun, Man-sik steps in under the influence and takes the hit. Eventually, the man escapes with the documents, and Dong-ju rushes Man-sik to the hospital, pushing him in a shopping cart for 30 minutes due to a traffic jam. Elsewhere, a man tortures Dong-ju's brother, Gyeong-il, into confessing to the hit-and-run crime. We also learn that Dong-ju's former coach is involved in the case. The next day, when Dong-ju returns to the office, he sees Gyeong-il being arrested. Gyeong-il has confessed. Dong-ju keeps this from their mother. He then attends the funeral of the hit-and-run victim and spots someone wearing the same watch he saw on the driver of the hit-and -run case. He takes the list of visitors and checks each one in the customs department, where the victim used to work, until he identifies Min Ju-yeong as the real culprit behind the hit-and-run, the man who forced Gyeong-il to take the fall. The Episode Review The latest episode of Good Boy raises the stakes by introducing Gyeong-il and making him Ju-yeong's scapegoat. The show clearly defines its protagonists and antagonists, making it easy for viewers to empathize with Dong-ju. Beyond that, the series continues to build on the characters' personalities, traumas, and pasts, adding a compelling layer to this action-comedy. One of the most enjoyable sequences is the hilarious chaos that follows Man-sik's drug-induced hallucinations. With nods to K-dramas like Sweet Home and Happiness, the scene delivers sharp comedic relief. Such carefully constructed and directed slapstick moments are among Good Boy's strengths. Along with its tight direction and thrilling action, the show leaves us eager to see where the story goes next.
