LU issues guidelines as entrance exam begins today
Lucknow: As entrance examination 2025 is set to start on Saturday, the Lucknow University on Friday issued guidelines to ensure a smooth experience. Students are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the scheduled exam time and bring drinking water only in transparent bottles. Beginning with the entrance tests, the first examination will be for in the first shift (10:30 am to 12 noon), and the second will be for (agriculture) in the evening shift (2:30-4:00 pm). The question paper will contain 100 multiple-choice questions which must be solved in 90 minutes. Each question will be worth 2 marks. There will be no negative marking. "Candidates appearing for the entrance examination are suggested to carefully read all the instructions mentioned in the admit card. Candidates should reach the examination centre one hour before the commencement of the examination," said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava. He said no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination centre after the commencement of the test. They must bring two of their photographs with them and any identity card like Aadhar card, PAN card, driving licence or voter card. "Candidates are allowed to bring drinking water in a transparent bottle. They should have blue and black ballpoint pens only. Candidates who claimed UE, CT, PwD, FF, Ex Army reservation and asked for weightage of NCC and Sports should bring their original certificates and get them verified compulsorily immediately after the examination," he added.

NCERT books, clear concepts of 10+2 key to UG entrance test, say LU officials
Lucknow: For candidates preparing for Lucknow University's undergraduate entrance examination, the varsity admission team advises that thorough board exam preparation is a reliable indicator of success. The LU UG entrance test will be held between July 5 and July 12. "Candidates who want to crack the LU entrance examination need not look for some special study material. All they need to do is prepare their classes 11 and 12 curriculum well. NCERT books and having clarity of concepts taught in 10+2 is the best way to crack the entrance," said LU admission team officials. LU's entrance test will be based on a multiple-choice questions pattern in which 100 objective questions will be asked. Each question will be worth 2 marks. There is no negative marking, and a candidate will be given 90 minutes to answer the questions. LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava said if a candidate is giving an entrance test for BA, then the entrance test will have questions from Hindi, English, geography, history, civics, psychology and economics of classes XI and XII. Candidates of law will be tested on legal general awareness, history, geography, general science, reasoning and mental ability.

Apply for LU's PG courses till July 7
Lucknow: The last date for filling the online admission form for postgraduate (PG and PG Professional Programme) courses under the Centralized Admission System of Lucknow University for the 2025-26 session has been extended from June 30 to July 7. According to LU officials, the decision would help students from remote areas and those awaiting final-year results. Applicants can complete the process through the university's official admission portal. "Students are advised to check eligibility criteria, required documents and fee details carefully before submitting their forms. Admission process for LU PG seats begins
1 2 Lucknow: Lucknow University has commenced the postgraduate (PG) admission process for the academic session 2025–26. According to a notice issued by the office of admission on Thursday, eligible candidates can now submit their applications online through the university's Samarth portal. The process began on April 24 and will continue till June 15. Admissions are being offered over 70 postgraduate programmes, including LLM, LLB, MBA, MBA in tourism & hospitality, MEd, BPEd, and MPEd, with a total intake of approximately 3800 seats. The application fee varies depending on the programme and applicant category. Candidates from other universities must appear for an entrance examination conducted by the Lucknow University. However, LU graduates from the 2024 batch applying for PG courses at the university or its affiliated colleges are exempt from the entrance test but still complete the application process online.
