Amr Diab ranks on World Music Awards top 100 artists

The World Music Awards announced that Egyptian superstar Amr Diab has entered the list of the top 100 global digital musical artists, following the remarkable success of his new album 'Ebtadena,' recently released across various digital platforms. The Awards' official Facebook page posted a statement saying, 'Amr Diab's long-awaited new album, Ebtadena, has topped the charts in several countries on iTunes and Apple Music, capitalizing on the star's overwhelming regional popularity.' According to the Awards' official website, Diab ranked 79th globally on the iTunes Global Albums Chart and 155th on iTunes in the US. The songs from the album 'Ebtadena' topped the streaming charts in 10 Arab countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and the Sultanate of Oman, across the Anghami, Apple Music, and Spotify platforms. 'Ebtadena' The album includes 15 songs, ranging from romantic to dramatic to rhythmic, in collaboration with a group of prominent music makers in Egypt and the Arab world, most notably: Tamer Hussein, Amr Mostafa, Aziz el-Shafei, Bahaa Eddin Mohamed, Ayman Bahgat Qamar, Amir Taaima, Mohamed Yehia, Adel Haqi, Ahmed Ibrahim, Osama el-Hindi, Toma, and Wissam Abdel-Moneim. The album 'Ebtadena' represents a new musical experience in Diab's career, combining the spirit of the songs he was famous for in the 1990s and 2000s with modern production values that keep in pace with global tastes, reinforcing his position as one of the Middle East's most prominent stars.

Amr Diab ignites summer with new album Ebtadena - Music - Arts & Culture

Superstar Amr Diab has just released his latest music album titled Ebtadena (We Started) on digital platforms and the Anghami app on Thursday. In the new album, composed of 15 songs, Diab collaborates with several well-known lyricists, including Amr Teima, Tamer Hussein, Bahaa Eldin Mohamed, Mohamed El-Kayaty, Moustafa Hadouta, and Ayman Bahgat Kamar, among others. Some songs on the album feature English lyrics penned by Abdallah and Jana Diab, Amr Diab's children, who are also featured in the songs "Yalla" and "Khatfoony". "You're so annoying, you know just how to talk to me. I need attention, but you're too precious. I know I should leave you, but I find it hard to go," Jana Diab joins her father in Khatfoony. Amr Mostafa composed this cheerful tune in what audiences deem a long-awaited reunion with Amr Diab, with whom Mostafa had collaborated on hits such as Khallik Fakerni (1999), Ahebak Akrahak (2001), Hala Hala (2011), and dozens of others. Mostafa also composed the title song, which fuses Latin-inspired melodies, a hallmark of Diab's. Other composers of the album include Aziz El-Shafaei, Mohamed Yehia, and Islam Zaki, alongside works by Diab himself. Just hours after release, the album began trending on YouTube. Khabar Abyad, Malish Badeel, Habibty Malak, Baba, Ya Bakhto, among other tunes, have all surpassed 40,000 views just hours after their release. The 63-year-old megastar remains among the most-listened-to artists on streaming platforms. Thousands attend his live concerts. Yara Sameh "El Hadaba' Amr Diab has finally dropped on Thursday his long-awaited album "Ebtadena" on music digital platforms and YouTube. The album consists of 15 songs, including a duet with his son Abdallah and his daughter Jana, respectively. In the new album, the acclaimed singer also collaborated with a large number of poets and composers, including Amr Mostafa, Bahaa El Din Mohamed, Ayman Bahgat Kamar, Tamer Hussein, and Aziz Al-Shafi'i. Born on October 11, 1961, Diab is a multi-award-winning pop singer-songwriter. He created his own style which is often termed 'Mediterranean Music', a blend of Western and Egyptian rhythms, by 1992, he became the first Arabic artist to start making high-tech music videos. He is a Guinness World Record holder, the best-selling Middle Eastern artist, a seven-time winner of World Music Awards, and a five-time winner of Platinum Records. Diab's fame in the entertainment industry has led him to experiment with other forms of media, such as film-making. The acclaimed singer co-starred in four films, 'Al Sagenatan', 'El Afareet', 'Ice Cream in Gleam', and 'Dehk Wa Le'b Wa Gad Wa Hob'. In 1988, he made his acting debut in the film 'Al Sagenatan' starring prominent actresses Elham Shahin and Samah Anwar. Despite the films' success, Diab did not experience the same success in acting as he had with his music. He has focused on his singing career since 1993. In 2020, the iconic singer signed on to make an acting comeback in an original Arabic series for Netflix. Diab announced the news social media along with sharing the cover art and first tase of his upcoming record. In the new album, the acclaimed singer collaborates with a large number of poets and composers, including Amr Mostafa, Bahaa El Din Mohamed, Ayman Bahgat Kamar, Tamer Hussein, and Aziz Al-Shafi'i. In December 2023, Diab released his last album "Makanak". The record contains 12 songs bearing surprises that represent major progress in Egyptian and Arab music. In the album, he collaborated with a large number of poets and composers including Bahaa El Din Mohamed, Ayman Bahgat Kamar, Tamer Hussein, mahraganat songwriter Mustafa Hadouta, Aziz Al-Shafi'i, Mohamed Yahya, and Islam Zaki.
