I've had this summer dress on my moodboard for weeks – it's finally back in stock
Nobody's doing summer dressing quite as well as Rixo right now. Its brilliant collaboration with Dragon Diffusion has been responsible for summer's most exciting handbags, and its vintage-inspired dresses have a pretty extensive celebrity fan club that includes Kate Middleton, Olivia Rodrigo and Sofia Richie. So it's safe to say that we've been fans of the British label for a while now. And just when we thought we couldn't love the label anymore, along came the dress of the season: the Edina. Classic yet timeless, the Edina has all the makings of a classic white summer dress – from its breathable cotton construction to its breezy ankle-skimming length. So what makes it special? The vintage Rixo touch, of course. Inspired by the brand's cult-favourite Ellery blouse, the maxi dress features a similar classic V-neckline trimmed with an oversized lace collar, evoking Prairie dress comparisons in the best way possible. Add to that a flattering ruffled hem and puffed sleeves, and you've got a dress that looks instantly polished and easy to wear. Little surprise, then, that our favourite influencers have been wearing the dress on repeat lately. Edina Cotton Maxi Dress Delicate, vintage-inspired and fashion editor-approved, this pretty white maxi will see you through everything from garden parties and race days to beachside dinners on holiday with ease. Then there's the details – from the intricate lace panels and delicate floral embroidery down the front to the micro pleats that subtly sculpt your shape – that make the Edina anything but basic. As with every other dress in Rixo's archives, the Edina has been designed to flatter across body types. If, like me, you're under 5'3" and find yourself tripping over most maxis, the Edina dress is available in a shorter length specifically for petites, while the adjustable waist tie helps adjust the shape to be as loose or fitted as you prefer. As wearable as it is appealing, the Edina dress is a moment in itself, which means styling it is as easy as it gets. Wear it with dainty Mary Janes and a straw bag for an unmistakably elegant weekend look or throw it on with wedge heels and some sleek sunglasses for a garden party or even a day at Wimbledon. The vintage-inspired dress could just as easily belong in one of your mum's old Kodak moments as it will on your Instagram grid. So naturally, it sold out fast after its initial release. Now that it's finally been restocked, we'd advise against hesitation. Whether you plan on twirling through Europe in the pretty white maxi or donning one for any upcoming event on your social calendar, Rixo's Edina dress isn't one you'd want to miss out on. Aubrie Cotton Midi Dress A boho spin on white dresses, the Aubrey is inspired by nightdresses from the 70s and features a smocked bodice that flares out into a tiered A-line skirt. Simply add a basket bag, wedge heels and a head scarf for a retro summer look. Hilary Cotton Dress If you're determined to stick to darker shades through summer, the Hilary cotton maxi makes for an excellent black dress for warmer weather. Boasting the same gorgeous lace panels, embroidery and ruffled hem as the Edina, this versatile maxi is incredibly easy to dress up or down depending on your preference. Inside Pip Edwards' wild 45th birthday bash as the fashion designer puts on very leggy display in ultra mini dress - but there is one notable face missing
Pip Edwards rang in her 45th birthday with a bang over the weekend, sparing no expense as she booked out the ritzy Italian restaurant 10 William St in Paddington. The P.E Nation founder ensured she was the centre of attention as she put on a very leggy display in a retro Ellery mini dress which popped with colour and featured an extra short hem. With sleeves cascading over her hands, Pip paired the bright frock with a set of baby blue fur pumps worth $750 from Camilla and Marc as she celebrated over lunch with her nearest and dearest. Typically seen with her tresses pulled back in a tight bun, the Ksubi creative director opted to let her hair down for once as she accessorised with a pair of designer sunglasses and several chunky silver rings. Pip and guests shared several photos of the milestone birthday to Instagram. 'Hands down, the best birthday I've ever had made sooooo memorable by all the incredible [people] around me, which makes the celebration all the more amazing,' Pip captioned one reel of images. This next chapter marked by turning 45 feels soooooo right and soooooo good. Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes xxxx.' She wrote over another photo of her smiling face: 'The best thing about birthdays is actually celebrating all the incredible people you have around you that make it worth celebrating with. 'The company you keep makes for a full and meaningful life. Here is to all the people I have around me who make life so special.' Guests invited to Pip's big bash included her son Justice Maximus, who she shares with ex partner Dan Single, her mother Gloria Edwards, and Double Rainbouu co-founder Michael Nolan. Kirsten King, the founder of Pilates studio Fluidform, was also in attendance, as well as jewellery designer Brohn Smith, fashion designer Michael Lo Sordo, and Sneaky Sound System singer Connie Mitchell. Milly Gattegno of the Sydney-based DJ duo The Faders was also invited along with interior designer Steve Cordony who put together the lavish table spread seen at Pip's birthday. Guests enjoyed Don Julio Tequila and dined on delicious appetisers and full-course meals—pretzel and whipped bottarga, castelfranco salad with riverine buffalo blue and pear lamb arrosticini, tagliatella al ragu alla Bolognese, steamed snapper with agretti and garlic leafy salad—all topped with tiramisu for dessert. Notably absent from the birthday celebrations was Pip's best friend Jackie 'O' Henderson, as the radio star was enjoying an idyllic Italian getaway with her daughter Kitty, 14, and didn't return until early Monday morning. 'White Lotus' Fans *Need* to Read This Reese's Book Club Pick
Like many folks, I'm all in on the third season of The White Lotus—the stunning locale, the top-notch performances and the drama, baby. While watching the most recent episode, it dawned on me: This show is super similar to a book I read—and loved—not long ago. If you're looking to fill the White Lotus-shaped hole in your week after this season wraps in a few days, I highly recommend checking out The Unwedding, a novel by Ally Condie that was last June's Reese's Book Club pick. cover: tk; background: getty images As Witherspoon notes in her intro to the book, The Unwedding opens with a woman, Ellery, heading to a luxurious resort in Big Sur, California, to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary. The first hitch? She's there alone, following a recent divorce. And not only is her singleness at the front of her mind, there's also a wedding slated to happen at the resort during her trip. I say slated to happen because it never actually does; Ellery finds the groom's body floating in a pool. Alongside two new friends, fellow guests Nina and Ravi, Ellery attempts to figure out what happened. Then, another mysterious death occurs, and to add insult to injury, the investigation is thwarted by a violent storm that leaves the guests trapped at the resort. Like any good thriller, there are twists and turns, seemingly promising leads that go nowhere and a lot of secrets threatening to be uncovered. The similarities to The White Lotus are numerous: The setting is described in glorious detail (though we obviously can't see what the property looks like, Condie's prose brings the Big Sur backdrop to life), and the ultra-rich guests each have their own issues and potential motivations. I blew through The Unwedding in just two days and highly suggest you do the same if you're in the market for media about rich people acting up after The White Lotus ends and we wait for season four. $29; $16 at Amazon These 23 'White Lotus'-Inspired Styles Will Have You *So* Ready for a Vacation

In a new statement, the agency said the powerful earthquake severely damaged critical infrastructure including major bridges and roads, making it difficult for humanitarian operations to access areas in need. 'Damage to the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay expressway led to service disruptions, with cracks and surface distortions forcing highway buses to halt operations', it said. 'As the full scale of the disaster unfolds, urgent humanitarian assistance is needed to support those affected,' it added. Update: Date: 29 Mar 2025 - 16:20 (16:20 GMT) Title: Photos: Devastation in quake-hit central Myanmar Content: Update: Date: 29 Mar 2025 - 16:05 (16:05 GMT) Title: Casualty figures expected to rise Content: Lauren Ellery, the deputy director of programmes at International Rescue Committee Myanmar, says indications suggest the death toll in the quake-hit areas of the country is likely to rise. 'What we are hearing from our colleagues is that the numbers are likely to grow,' she told Al Jazeera from Bangkok, adding that local authorities don't yet seem to have 'a full understanding of the extent of the devastation'. 'Our colleagues reported to me this afternoon about one of the towns near Mandalay, with reports that 80 percent of the town is collapsed, but because of communication challenges this information isn't really reaching people yet,' Ellery said. In terms of the most pressing needs, Ellery noted initial reports point to shelter, healthcare, food, water and basic necessities, as well as psychosocial support due to the trauma people are going through. Update: Date: 29 Mar 2025 - 15:50 (15:50 GMT) Title: 'I am praying my daughter is safe' Content: In Bangkok, hope is fading among relatives and friends of the dozens of people still missing at the site of the collapsed high-rise under construction near the Thai capital's popular Chatuchak market. 'I was praying that that they had survived but when I got here and saw the ruin – where could they be? In which corner? Are they still alive? I am still praying that all six are alive,' said 45-year-old Naruemol Thonglek, sobbing as she awaited news about her partner, who is from Myanmar, and five friends who worked at the site. Waenphet Panta also told AP she hadn't heard from her daughter Kanlayanee since a phone call about an hour before the earthquake. A friend told her Kanlayanee had been working high on the building on Friday. 'I am praying my daughter is safe, that she has survived and that she's at the hospital,' she said, Kanlayanee's father sitting beside her. Update: Date: 29 Mar 2025 - 15:35 (15:35 GMT) Title: Modelling estimates death toll could go as high as 10,000 Content: The US Geological Survey has estimated the death toll in Myanmar could surpass 10,000. The agency's predictive model has also estimated that economic losses due to the earthquake may top the country's annual economic output. Update: Date: 29 Mar 2025 - 15:20 (15:20 GMT) Title: Earthquake hit Myanmar mosques as Muslims gathered for Ramadan prayers Content: Hundreds of Muslim worshippers are feared among the dead in Myanmar after the earthquake struck as people gathered at mosques for Friday prayers during Ramadan. According to the shadow National Unity Government, more than 50 mosques across the country sustained damage. A 39-year-old resident of the Mandalay region described harrowing scenes as he tried to save a man trapped under the debris of a collapsed mosque in Sule Kone village but had to flee because of strong aftershocks. 'I had to leave him behind … I went in a second time to try to save him,' he told Reuters, declining to be identified. 'I retrieved four people with my own hands. But unfortunately, three were already dead and one died in my arms.' The resident said 10 people had been killed there, and they were among 23 who died at three mosques that were destroyed in the village. Government restrictions had prevented them being upgraded, he said. Muslims are a minority in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar and have been marginalised by successive governments, while ultranationalist groups have in recent years incited violence. Myanmar authorities have for decades made it difficult for Muslims to obtain permission to repair or build mosques, according to a 2017 report by the US State Department, which said historic mosques have deteriorated because routine maintenance was denied. Buddhist buildings were also badly hit by the earthquake, with 670 monasteries and 290 pagodas damaged, according to the military government. It did not mention any mosques in its damage report. Update: Date: 29 Mar 2025 - 15:05 (15:05 GMT) Title: 'We always have hope' Content: In Bangkok, rescue efforts continue to focus on the collapsed 30-storey building, which was under construction at the time the earthquake hit. The search has been complicated by the fact there is no clear indication where in the building the estimated 47 missing workers were when it collapsed, rescue worker Atikom Watkoson told Al Jazeera. But sign of survivors have been detected and heavy machinery has been brought in to help clear the mountain of debris from the site, he said. Still, 'there is a lot of work left to get through,' Atikom Watkoson said. Across Bangkok, engineers and government officials are now inspecting the integrity of the city's hundreds of skyscrapers, with residents of many high-rise buildings reporting cracks in walls and floors. 'It's all high-rise buildings in Bangkok's city centre,' said Sirin Hiranthanakasem, a resident in the capital who fled down 23 flights of stairs when the earthquake struck and is now staying in a hotel, too afraid to return to her apartment. 'If something was to collapse, we would not survive,' she said. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has also opened an online portal for people in the capital to report damage to buildings. Despite the chaos resulting from the earthquake and authorities declaring the city a disaster zone, Bangkok has quickly returned to normal. The city's airports functioning and light rail system back up and running, with most shops and restaurants back in operation. Still, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minster Anutin Charnvirakul said all possible resources have been deployed to search for survivors at the site of the building collapse and recover the bodies of the deceased. 'We always have hope,' he told reporters of the possibility of finding workers alive. 'We're still working around the clock.'

"This song was love at first harpsichord!" Black Country, New Road return with video for brand new single Besties
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. London art rockers Black Country, New Road have shared a video for Besties, the first new music from their just-announced third album Forever Howlong, which the band will release through Ninja Tune Records on April 4. It's the band's first studio release since 2022's Top Five album Ants From Up There, the release of which was somewhat overshadowed by the departure of vocalist Isaac Wood. Forever Howlong arrives with lead vocal duties now shared between Tyler Hyde, May Kershaw and Georgia Ellery. 'It opened up a real through-line in having three girls singing,' says Ellery. 'It's definitely very different to Ants From Up There because of having that different female perspective – and the music we've made also really compliments that.' "Besties came into my world with a dance of feelings, with such an understood concept of exploring the core emotion of taking on the world, and its obstacles to be with her, the bestie, again," Ellery continues about the band's new single on which she takes sole lead vocal. "Building this with the band took me to so many memories, informed by a collective of experiences from my childhood writing letters and maps to my bestie, into formulating our own map and sliding-doors effect narrative - charged with the instinctual punch and intuition of: I need to be with my bestie now. Working with Georgia, May and Tyler was a real treat across their performances especially, and quite literally, running from the more conventional lip-sync world, and injecting cameo moments with Charlie, Lewis and Luke. "Knee-high in January's jacket of mud, darkness, fields, street corners and a pack of hounds we found the beating heart of a world made better by chasing love and connection. Shooting in these conditions, and having fun is a real testament to a fantastic team and collective of people! It's been such a pleasure, this song was love at first harpsichord! The sextet have also announced live dates for 2025, including festival dates at Primavera Sound, Paredes De Coura, Lowlands and End Of The Road followed by a full UK and EU tour in September and October, ending eith the band's biggest headline show to date at London's O2 Brixton Academy. You can see all the dates and ticket details below. Forever Howlong will be available as a standard 2LP on recycled black vinyl, a white label 2LP signed by the band, an Indie exclusive negative effect artworked 2LP, and both a Collector's Edition 2LP with an alternate tracklisting in translucent eco jazz red and a Collector's Edition Cassette, also featuring the alternate tracklisting.
