What is Gift of the Tree in Diablo 4?
(Image via Blizzard Entertainment) If you've been grinding through Diablo 4 lately and noticed a strange white tree icon on your buff bar, it's not a bug or some obscure passive. That's the Gift of the Tree, and it's actually your shortcut to getting extra loot while running Whispers. Want more gear, gold, and goodies without doing anything new? Here's everything you need to know! The Gift of the Tree: A Limited-Time Loot Boost The Gift of the Tree is an active bonus event in Diablo 4's Season 9, running until July 22, 2025, 1:00 PM EST. During this period, every time you turn in 10 Grim Favors at the Tree of Whispers, you get one extra Chaos Cache, on top of your selected reward. What Are Chaos Caches? Chaos Caches are wildcard loot boxes. Unlike the regular caches you pick at the Tree (like Armor, Weapons, or Keys), these are unfiltered, offering everything from junk gear to rare Ancestral drops. Think of them as RNG grab bags—they're perfect for farming materials, gold, or just rolling the dice on powerful finds. Bonus tip : These caches count toward the Chaotic Whispers achievement. If you're hunting that, this event is your golden ticket. NEW PATCH BROKE Diablo 4 BUT NEW LEGIONS ARE INSANE How to Get the Bonus Cache To make the most of the event: Complete Whispers. These are Diablo 4's version of bounties. Earn Grim Favors. You need 10 Grim Favors to claim a reward at the Tree. Turn them in at the Tree of Whispers or a Raven of the Tree. Select a reward cache; any type works (though note: Greater Dungeon Key caches might be bugged and not provide the bonus). Receive your chosen cache + a free Chaos Cache. Easy loot, extra value. How Do Whispers Wor? Whispers show up as icons with colored borders on your map. The border color indicates how many Grim Favors they'll earn you: Pale Pink = 1 Favor Pink = 3 Favors Red = 5 Favors Complete any mix that adds up to 10 Grim Favors. Then head to the Tree or one of its Ravens and claim your reward + bonus. Just make sure you've unlocked the Tree of Whispers by finishing the main campaign or skipping it during character creation. Touted Playmaker Admits to Change of Heart Possibility on Georgia
Touted Playmaker Admits to Change of Heart Possibility on Georgia originally appeared on Athlon Sports. One Atlanta-based playmaker in the 2026 recruiting class is planning to begin his college football career for the Boise State Broncos. At least, that's his plan at the moment. Advertisement Three-star receiver Terrious Favors told On3's Jeremy Johnson that he is still communicating with the Bulldogs, who are pushing to convince the wideout to stay much closer to home for school. 'Coach Coley has been texting me every day, checking on me, sending me graphics about my track season because I just got out of track. So we've been communicating really well," Favors told Johnson. "They want me really bad. They've been saying that I need to come to Georgia. "There's nobody like Georgia.' Favors suggested a change in his commitment is possible. 'It would be a school I would consider if I were to decommit from Boise and pick somewhere else. They're really just a great program. They got Coach Kirby. He coached under Nick Saban, the best coach, probably of all time. He's got good experience with great players," added Favors. Georgia Bulldogs football head coach Kirby Smart© Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Considered an athlete on the 247Sports composite rankings, Favors sits outside the top 50 at his position and on the Georgia in-state rankings. The composite rankings have him rated as the No. 818 prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. Advertisement But the Bulldogs are eyeing Favors likely because of his speed. "Favors' track speed grabbed Georgia's attention this spring. The Bulldogs' development of speedy players like Arian Smith has grabbed Favors' attention," wrote Johnson. Despite his love for Georgia, Favors concluded saying his commitment to Boise State is "locked in." The Bulldogs, though, will have another crack at changing Favors' mind this weekend. Rivals' Jed May reported Thursday Favors will take an official visit to Athens, Georgia this weekend. Outside Lands performer says he was tear-gassed at L.A. ICE protest: ‘They're inciting this'
Pop musician Finneas shared his harrowing experience while participating in a demonstration condemning raids in Los Angeles over the weekend on social media. 'Tear-gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown — they're inciting this,' he wrote on his Instagram story on Sunday, June 8. The Grammy-winning songwriter and producer was among thousands across the city who were protesting in the streets against the recent influx of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests under President Donald Trump's administration. Finneas is best known for producing music with his younger sister Billie Eilish, but embarked on a solo career in 2016. He has made a name for himself with his intimate alternative pop tunes, such as 'Let's Fall in Love for the Night' and 'Break My Heart Again.' He was announced among the performers for this year's Outside Lands music festival in Golden Gate Park on Aug. 10, and recently formed a duo called the Favors with his 'Till Forever Falls Apart' collaborator, San Jose singer Ashe. His last San Francisco performance was at the Masonic in March in support of his sophomore album, 'For Cryin' Out Loud!' After sharing his protest experience on Sunday, the musician proceeded to share a series of Instagram stories criticizing Trump's decision to send the National Guard to intervene with protests and declaring his dislike for ICE. 'If you are into this fascist s— you are small and weak and will lose,' a post that he re-shared from comedian and writer Tim Heidecker read. A number of other public figures, including politicians and celebrities, also voiced their concern over the weekend about the Trump administration's military response and the violence it sparked. Billie Joe Armstrong, frontman of East Bay punk rock trio Green Day, shared a video of the protests to his Instagram account, captioning it with a middle finger emoji and an ice cube in a reference to the federal agency. Gov. Gavin Newsom shared his formal request for the Trump administration to rescind the National Guard to X on Sunday afternoon. 'We didn't have a problem until Trump got involved,' he wrote. 'This is a serious breach of state sovereignty — inflaming tensions while pulling resources from where they're actually needed.' Two more protests are scheduled for Monday, June 9 — one set for 4 p.m. outside of San Francisco City Hall, and the other for 6 p.m. at the 24th and Mission BART plaza.
