Scottish Open start and finish times change due to key weather update as Sunday gates to open later
Tee-times altered for the final round of the tournament Genesis Scottish Open chiefs have been forced to change the start times for Sunday's final round due to forecasted haar. With dense sea fog in the area in the morning and evening, tee times for day four have been adjusted. Just as on the opening two days, there will now be a two-tee start from the first and 10th etween approximately 11.30pm and 1.40pm. The final putt is expected to be at approximately 7pm with changes also made to the entry times for the huge crowd set to attend. Gates will now open one hour later than previously advised at 9am. The FanZone, including Fringe by the Tee stage and catering outlets, will also be open from 9am. On Saturday, play with the cut-field of 80 for the weekend, got underway at 8.50am with Justin Thomas and Bob MacIntyre leading the groupings. Two years ago, the final day times were brought forward due to forecast bad weather with Rory McIlroy getting the better of MacIntyre in an epic finale. Crowds have piled into The Renaissance over the course of the tournament with Saturday's action a complete a sell-out. A record attendance is expected across the week at the event co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, with the capacity of 23,000 reached for day three. Rory Colville, Genesis Scottish Open Championship Director, said: 'The Genesis Scottish Open has continued to grow every year, with the stars of global golf gathering at Renaissance Club, and an increased fan experience, including the Fringe by the Tee stage in the Fan Zone and the Sixth Hole Stadium Experience. 'We're looking forward to a fantastic weekend of golf and entertainment, and welcoming our best ever crowd to the event.' Saturday at the Genesis Scottish Open also includes a headline set from Grammy-nominated, Brit Award-winning artist KT Tunstall on the Fringe by the Tee stage. Fans will turn out in their droves again for the final day, but the adjustment of timings will mean a slight tweaking of plans for those attending the event to see the conclusion and the 2025 winner crowned.

Elite field in place for incredible weekend at Renaissance Defending champion Bob MacIntyre leads out an all-star cast on sell-out Saturday at The Renaissance. The Genesis Scottish Open is at the business end with the field trimmed for the weekend. However, the cream of the game are on all show in East Lothian with a log-jam of superstar pairings going out for round three. MacIntyre and Justin Thomas kick proceedings off as they go get going in the morning sunshine at 8.50am. The two remaining Scots, Connor Syme and Grant Forrest, are either side of lunch as they aim to move up the boards and the menu gets hotter. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is out with former US pen champion Wyndham Clark and the past two Open champions, Xander Schauffele and Brian Harman, are paired in a twoball. Rory McIlroy will have an army of followers with him when he takes to the course just after three o clock with Ryder Cup colleague Sepp Straka. The final pairing of the day are the day are the two leaders with Harry Hall and Chris Gotterup last out at 3.45pm. Tournament organisers are ensuring a huge week on and off the course, with a range of experiences planned for four days. In the Fan Zone, the highlight will be the return of Fringe by the Tee, a collaboration with the local Fringe by the Sea festival. Grammy-nominated singer Tunstall will play a set on Saturday, June 12, with author-turned DJ Welsh cranking up the tunes on Friday night, reports the Daily Record. As well as music, the Fringe by the Tee pop-up stage will offer something for everyone, including comedian Fred MacAulay, who will host daily entertainment daily slots. Families can catch the always-popular Alexander the Great, an award-winning entertainer delivering circus skills, party games, disco dancing, and plenty of magic for the kids. 'We went away and had a good long think about who it is that are coming to the golf and how we can expand it beyond the core enthusiast, especially to the families who might not have a fleeting interest in the game itself. 'There are so many great things. Whether it is the Stephen Gallacher Foundation for ace pro tips, to the crazy golf course raising funds for Leuchie House, to the main stage where we can bring to life the fan zone with bands, DJs, comedy, kids shows and a whole golf bag full of fun.
