The Scottish Open in East Lothian 'won't be all golf' thanks to famous faces KT Tunstall and Irvine Welsh.
Tournament organisers are ensuring a huge week on and off the course, with a range of experiences planned for four days. In the Fan Zone, the highlight will be the return of Fringe by the Tee, a collaboration with the local Fringe by the Sea festival.
Grammy-nominated singer Tunstall will play a set on Saturday, June 12, with author-turned DJ Welsh cranking up the tunes on Friday night, reports the Daily Record.
As well as music, the Fringe by the Tee pop-up stage will offer something for everyone, including comedian Fred MacAulay, who will host daily entertainment daily slots. Families can catch the always-popular Alexander the Great, an award-winning entertainer delivering circus skills, party games, disco dancing, and plenty of magic for the kids.

Other highlights of the Fan Zone include Mini Golf and Long Putt experiences, raising money for The Renaissance Club Foundation, while fans can also buy a limited edition tartan range from J.Lindeberg, worn by ambassadors such as Viktor Hovland and Mathieu Pavon, and gain access to the J.L Clubhouse hospitality facility on the Sixth Hole by spending £100 or more in the Merchandise Store.
Fringe By The Tee Festival Director Rory Steel explained: 'We run Fringe By The Sea in North Berwick in August just down the road from where the golf takes place and, a couple of years back, we were asked to come down and have a look and it was an absolutely amazing opportunity to really help with the growth of what is an amazing event.
'We went away and had a good long think about who it is that are coming to the golf and how we can expand it beyond the core enthusiast, especially to the families who might not have a fleeting interest in the game itself.
'There are so many great things. Whether it is the Stephen Gallacher Foundation for ace pro tips, to the crazy golf course raising funds for Leuchie House, to the main stage where we can bring to life the fan zone with bands, DJs, comedy, kids shows and a whole golf bag full of fun.

'It's not just what is happening on the course, the track or the field at major sporting occasions now, it's what happens off the field, too. People are spending a not-insignificant sum to come along and, yes, the sport is the key to it all, but so is making sure there is something for everyone.
'Irvine Welsh doing a DJ set will be ace for Friday night's crowd followed by KT Tunstall for Saturday and having Scottish legends like that at the Genesis Scottish Open is all part of the appeal. They buy into it, too. They are invested and it shows how the event has grown in popularity and is going from strength to strength on and off the course.'

Gracie Abrams SLAMMED for smoking cigarette after reaching new milestone in Paul Mescal relationship

Gracie Abrams recently went Instagram official with her long-rumored boyfriend Paul Mescal after they attended England's Glastonbury Festival, but fans seemed far more concerned about her posing with a cigarette in her mouth. Several X users including @Nataliasliife quoted lyrics from the 25-year-old singer's 2021 single Camden while reacting: 'At least I'll never turn to cigarettes / my brother shielded me from all of that / He said that smoking was a killer.' X user @eth3rchouchou shared a grisly, anti-smoking PSA captioned: 'Let's think about our choices, Gracie.' X user @j41r3z3n was concerned over Abrams' two-and-a-half-octave mezzo-soprano pipes, tweeting: 'Can't afford to smoke with that voice.' 'Smoking? This explains her out of breath performances,' X user @alohavera1 scoffed. 'She takes her career as seriously as we would imagine nepo babies to.' X user @xpremiumgroup tweeted his 'hot take' writing: 'Stop promoting smoking cigarettes as something cool and trendy.' Meawnhile, X user @Marsspace17_ defended the two-time Grammy nominee: 'The people dragging Gracie Abrams for simply smoking a cigarette at a festival should know most of their pretentious male actor or artist faves are legit hardcore drug addicts behind the scenes, who will end up broke while Gracie stays pretty and her career continues to thrive.' Gracie - who boasts 10.8M social media followers - appeared to finally confirm her romance with the 29-year-old Irishman in an Instagram slideshow she shared last Wednesday. Abrams and Mescal reportedly celebrated their first anniversary of dating in June. Since last month, the Pacific Palisades native has been photographed numerous times wearing a curious band on her left-ring finger. 'The speculation has been kind of mad for the last x amount of years,' Paul lamented to GQ last October. 'I'm not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life. How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it, and it might be public interest, but it's not public-obligated information.' Gracie wasn't just a Glastonbury patron as she made her official debut June 27 on the Other Stage during the annual music festival, which takes place at Worthy Farm in Pilton. As Abrams performed her new single Out of Nowhere, her famous filmmaking father J.J. Abrams proudly watched from the wings, and she was also supported there by her brothers Auggie and Henry as well as Mescal's younger sister Nell. Last Friday, the Secret of Us songstress performed her new single Crazy Girl at BST Hyde Park in London while sporting the same exact Boston Red Sox cap that the Oscar-nominated actor had worn at Glastonbury. 'Smoking? This explains her out of breath performances,' X user @alohavera1 scoffed. 'She takes her career as seriously as we would imagine nepo babies to' X user @xpremiumgroup tweeted his 'hot take' writing: 'Stop promoting smoking cigarettes as something cool and trendy' Meawnhile, X user @Marsspace17_ defended the two-time Grammy nominee: 'The people dragging Gracie Abrams for simply smoking a cigarette at a festival should know most of their pretentious male actor or artist faves are legit hardcore drug addicts behind the scenes' Gracie previously dated Grammy-winning hitmaker Blake Slatkin from 2017-2022, while Paul ended his two-year relationship with three-time Grammy winner Phoebe Bridgers in 2022. Abrams - who gets 40.4M monthly listeners on Spotify - is next scheduled to bring her 81-date The Secret of Us Tour to Spain's Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona this Wednesday. The Kamala Harris campaigner - who signed with Interscope Records in 2019 at age 20 - got a big career boost in 2022 opening for Olivia Rodrigo's Sour Tour followed by Taylor Swift's Eras Tour between 2023–2024. Mescal will next executive produce and portray Lionel in Oliver Hermanus' post-WWI gay romance The History of Sound - hitting US theaters September 12 - alongside Josh O'Connor and Chris Cooper. The History of Sound currently has a 65% critic approval rating (out of 37 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes after earning a six-minute standing ovation during the world premiere at at the Cannes Film Festival on May 21. The Streetcar Named Desire thespian will then portray William Shakespeare in Chloé Zhao's 1596-set grieving drama Hamnet hitting limited US theaters November 27 before a wider release on December 12. The big-screen adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's 2020 novel also features Jessie Buckley, Joe Alwyn, and Emily Watson. Paul's other upcoming films include Sam Mendes' biopics The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event due out in 2028 and Richard Linklater's big-screen adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical Merrily We Roll Along.

Billy Connolly scarecrow stolen from garden near Big Yin's former home

Louise, 65, whose late brother-in-law Davie was Billy's minder when he was a resident in Drymen, Stirlingshire, is hoping the comedian himself might make an appeal for the scarecrow to be brought home. Louise Haggerty is clutching at straws trying to track down her stolen Billy Connolly scarecrow. It was nicked from her front garden just a few hundred yards from where the Big Yin himself lived in the late 70s. ‌ Louise, 65, whose late brother-in-law Davie was Billy's minder and best pal when he was a resident in Drymen, Stirlingshire, is hoping the comedian himself might make an appeal for the scarecrow's return if he reads the Record. ‌ She said: 'Every year as part of the Drymen Gala Day celebrations, there's a scarecrow competition and this year we decided to do Billy with his banana feet. 'It turned out great and you have no idea the number of people who stopped to photograph it. Some even climbed up to our fence to have their picture taken beside Billy. 'The gala committee decided on a Hawaiian theme for the scarecrows this year so we just shoved a garland round its neck. 'It was great. I went into the butcher's and he said it was the talk of the steamie. 'But on Saturday night, a car pulled up, and somebody jumped out and stole our scarecrow. ‌ 'It's wearing my leggings and T-shirt and I'd like them back. 'I was angry at first but we can see the funny side now. 'If the scarecrow is off on a haycation somewhere and somebody's getting pleasure from it, fair enough. But I'd hate to think it's been flytipped, because a lot of work went into it. I made the big banana feet from old oilskins and the hair, beard and eyebrows from sheep's wool I dyed black. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Just before it was stolen, John heard a lot of cackling and laughing and a horn beep, beep, beeping. ‌ 'He went outside and all that was left of Billy was his glasses. 'He's raging and says he'd like to get his hands on whoever stole Billy. 'It seems like it was just a quick grab and go. ‌ 'The gala was last month but I was going to leave it out until the end of August just because of the amount of interest it sparked. 'Whoever has taken it has ruined the fun and joy for other people.' ‌ After the couple divorced, he moved to London and now lives in Florida with second wife Pamela Stephenson. Louise said: 'We'd love to know where the scarecrow is now. 'John's brother Davie was great friends with Billy when he lived here all those years ago so maybe if he reads the Daily Record, he could put out an appeal for the return of the scarecrow and help us get it back.'

Midge Ure announces dates for ‘immersive' tour

Ure is best known for being the frontman of electronic pop group Ultravox, whose track Vienna (the title track from their studio album of the same name) is among the most well-known songs of the 80s. Midge Ure said his upcoming tour will be immersive (Matt Crossick/PA) Ure said: 'This is my two worlds coming together. 'Almost every album I have made over the last 40-plus years has featured at least one instrumental track. Instrumental music is one of my main loves. 'I realised most of these have never been performed live. So my intention on this tour is to seamlessly insert some of these atmospheric, cinematic instrumentals between a selection of hits and favourite album tracks.' The tour promises to offer a 'rare and deeply personal concert experience' for fans by bringing together album favourites with 'cinematic instrumentals'. Speaking about the tour, Ure said he wanted to 'take the audience on a journey rather than just play a list of individual songs'. Ure said he wants to take his audience on a journey (Ian West/PA) 'This will be an immersive experience for the audience both visually and sonically,' he said. Ure's musical career has spanned decades with his early years performing as part of bands such as Irish rockers Thin Lizzy, new wave groups Visage and Rich Kids before going on to have a successful solo career. The Ivor Novello winner, who has also been nominated for a Grammy, became an OBE in 2005 for services to music and charity. The musician went on to celebrate his 70th birthday with a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023. The tour will take place in May and June 2026 and is expected to open in Bath with performances in Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh.
