Two teens rushed from TRNSMT festival to hospitals in Glasgow
The teensEmergency crews scrambled to Glasgow Green after concerns were raised. TWO teenagers were rushed to hospital after taking ill at TRNSMT festival. Emergency crews raced to Glasgow Green yesterday following concerns for the welfare of the boys, aged 16 and 17. They were rushed to hospital, but it is unclear what led to them becoming unwell. One was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, while another was raced to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'A 16-year-old male youth was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and a 17-year-old male youth was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after becoming unwell at a festival in Glasgow. 'Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.' TRNSMT revellers basked in the sunshine for a second day as Scotland's summer heatwave reached fever pitch yesterday. Scotland's biggest ever music weekender has coincided with soaring temperatures across most of Scotland. The wall-to-wall sunshine, with temperatures hitting high 20s and low 30s, led to some music fans struggling to cope in the heat. They turned out in their thousands to give a raft of top acts including headliners Biffy Clyro, Fontaines D.C, The Kooks and Inhaler the warmest of welcomes last night. Many fans have already hailed the weekend a success after two days, despite a hiccup when security guards were found to have confiscated some fans' suncream at the site entrance due to a policy regarding bottle sizes and aerosols. After criticism from parents, the rule was rescinded. Media and communications graduate Claire Monaghan, 21, from Balloch, was among those giving Saturday's music bill the thumbs up. She said: 'I've been going to TRNSMT since I was 14. Obviously, it's local so it's good and the Scottish community feeling of everyone being united. Also, the line up is so good. They've managed to hit it out of the park. I love Fontaines D.C. I'd much rather this than be poured on in the rain.' Guy Dudman, 16, from Dunfermline, went taps-aff with his pals on arrival. Schoolboy Guy said: 'This is my first festival. I'm looking forward to Fontaines. They're my favourite. It is definitely tops off weather. 'I've got the sunscreen on and I think it's amazing with it being warm and everyone out enjoying the sun. It's brilliant.' Emma Scott, and Emily Gillespie, both 18, from Dunfermline, enjoyed a spot of sunbathing between sets. Emma said: 'This is our last year in school. I'm off to do a graduate apprenticeship and we're on our holidays. This is our first time together. I love it. The sun is amazing. I'm going to get a nice tan.' Emily added: 'I want to see Fontaines and Inhaler and we are mostly going to be at the Boogie bar and definitely the main stage.' Fine art student Alisa Campbell, 21, arrived on a day trip from Belfast, with pals Alanna McGann, 20, and Claudia Black, 20. Other acts performing yesterday include Miles Kane who stepped in for Wunderhorse after the group cancelled at the 11th hour due to illness. Underworld will close the King Tut's stage before Biffy Clyro round up the second day of the festival.

Man threw colostomy bag at head teacher of Glasgow school
The man, who we are not naming, was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court recently after pleading guilty to two charges, The Glasgow Times reported. He admitted to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in the presence of secondary children and assaulting another man. The court heard that at 9am on September 6, 2024, the head teacher of the school and a campus police officer were carrying out their duties. The head teacher explained he would be with him shortly as he was dealing with an unrelated matter. The man then made his way to an internal door to wait, and the head teacher stated he couldn't stand there. He became enraged and started to unbutton his shirt. The head teacher turned away from him and stated that he should not be undressing in a school. The man then ripped off his colostomy and urostomy bags and threw these at the head teacher, striking him on the head. This caused the head teacher to shout 'get out' which was overheard by the campus police officer who then arrived on the scene. The man was arrested and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary due to having an open wound. Once the wound was made safe, he was taken to Cathcart police office. Whilst being processed, he commented that should he be sent in front of a court, he would throw a full bag over the judge or sheriff. Addressing Sheriff Anthony Deutsch, the man's lawyer said: 'I can reassure you he has no intention of that happening.' Sheriff Deutsch added: 'He has no outstanding matters. I am prepared to treat this as a one-off.' Sentencing was deferred for six months for the man to be of good behaviour.

Crazed hit-and-run drivers rammed cars in terrifying attack as woman chased with saw
Terrified witnesses saw a woman struck with a saw during the violent confrontation between three cars on Ashgill Road, Glasgow. A man was rushed to hospital after a hit-and-run incident erupted into a violent rammy, involving three vehicles, a pedestrian and a saw. Cops were called to Ashgill Road in the north of Glasgow at around 6.55pm on Monday, June 23, following reports of a targeted hit-and-run involving three vehicles and a male pedestrian. Horrified locals looked on as chaos unfolded on the street where a woman was slapped with a saw. The 22-year-old was reportedly struck by a car and later taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is not currently known. One eyewitness described the moment the incident spiralled out of control in what police now believe to be a "targeted" attack. "There were two cars speeding down Ashgill Road, one coming up and one going down, it looked like they were deliberately trying to ram each other," the resident told the Daily Record. "They smashed into each other and also hit my flatmate's car." The witness added: "I was in the back garden and ran out. Another car was on the corner of Ashgill Place and the other two cars were in the middle of Ashgill Road. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! "There were two men who got out one of the cars and another girl who was driving a different car got out. It seemed as if they knew one another. "I then saw one of the men slap the girl with a saw. She was shouting, 'He's just hit me with a saw'. The car that had reversed up Ashgill Place then quickly drove away." Police launched a probe and after carrying out investigations said they believe it was a "targeted incident". The force added they do not believe there is any wider threat to the public. Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident. Police said they will keep a presence in the area following the attack. This latest incident comes two months after a home on Ashgill Road was firebombed as part of targeted attacks on several properties during the same night. The horrific attack was linked to the gang war that spread from Edinburgh to Glasgow. A terrifying video uploaded to social media showed firebombings on various properties in the city on April 7 - with three homes being targeted in the early hours. Properties on Glasgow's Gala Street as well as Meadow Court in Stepps, North Lanarkshire, were allegedly also torched in the early hours of April 7. In the footage, masked assailants could be seen dousing the front door of a home with accelerant. Another clip showed flaming projectiles being thrown into windows at a property. The faceless and frightening mob have been waging war on the Daniel and Richardson crime clans on behalf of Dubai-based kingpin Ross McGill. The video included the gang's now signature insignia featuring a fanged skull painted with a saltire and the words 'TMJ 2025'. McGill has been waging war on Mark Richardson's crime mob from Edinburgh and the Daniel clan from Glasgow since March after he was ripped off in a £500,000 cocaine deal when the buyer used fake bank notes. Police Scotland said there is nothing to suggest the hit-and-run incident is anything to do with the current turf war taking place across the country. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.55pm on Monday, June 23, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance involving three vehicles and a male pedestrian on Ashgill Road, Glasgow. The 22-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a car and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. "From investigations so far, this is believed to be a targeted incident and there is no wider threat to the public. Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and a police presence will remain in the area. "Anyone with any concerns, or information, can approach these officers. Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2779 of June 23, 2025."
