YSRCP to carry out ‘Recalling Chandrababu Manifesto' to expose NDA govt.

Former Minister and senior YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath said the YSRCP would carry out 'Recall Chandrababu Manifesto' programme up to village level and expose the betrayal of the NDA government. Through the programme, the YSRCP would show the citizens what was promised and given by the government. Speaking to the media in a press conference on Friday, Mr. Amarnath alleged that the NDA government completely failed to implement its election promises. He said the TDP leaders have been blatantly telling not to extend welfare programmes to YSRCP cadre, but when the YSRCP was in power, the benefits were provided to the people in a transparent manner, irrespective of their political affiliations. He alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has no respect for manifesto, Constitution or the people. Though Mr. Chandrababu Naidu and K. Pawan Kalyan had given signed bonds promising the implementation of welfare schemes, they are now going back on it, he said. The YSRCP leader also alleged that the promises of 'Aadabidda Nidhi', 'unemployment stipend', 'Annadatha Sukhibhava' and creation of 20 lakh jobs were not implemented. He also alleged that a number of conditions were imposed for 'Talliki Vandanam' and 'Deepam' schemes. He added that locally the TDP cadre were unable to face the voters as the government failed to implement the promises. He appealed the people to question the NDA leaders over their promises.

YSRCP launches ‘yuvatha poru'

Visakhapatnam: Flagging failures of the coalition government, YSRCP launches 'yuvatha poru' protests and submits representations at all Collectorates on June 23, informed former IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath. Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Gudivada Amarnath said the coalition government is resorting to diversion politics as it failed to implement poll promises, especially creation of jobs and provision of Rs 3,000 allowance to the unemployed youth after it came to power. The youth wing of the party will hold protests at all District Collector offices, Amarnath mentioned. 'People are not prepared to trust Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as he is resorting to diversion politics to avoid fulfilling promises made like his earlier tenures,' Amarnath criticised, adding the Thalliki Vandanam scheme has been diluted. Talking about International Yoga Day celebrations, Amarnath pointed out that the government spent Rs.300 crore on IYD for publicity, causing great inconvenience to students, women and public. 'Tribal students were mobilised to the venue the previous day without proper care and they faced serious hardship,' Amarnath lamented. The event was conducted with an aim of entering the Guinness Book of Records, while Naidu already holds a record for cheating people across four terms as Chief Minister, Amarnath alleged. While Naidu mobilises funds for Amaravati, Amarnath said, North Andhra remains completely neglected but used for the CM's publicity stunts. 'It was only during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure North Andhra witnessed real development,' he reiterated, appealing to people to make the 'yuvatha poru' a success.

Andhra Pradesh government spent ₹300 crore on International Yoga Day event for publicity, alleges YSRCP

YSR Congress Party leader Gudivada Amarnath alleged that the government has spent ₹300 crore on the International Yoga Day event purely for propaganda and publicity, putting students, public and women through severe inconvenience. He also alleged that tribal students were brought the previous day without proper care and they faced serious hardships. Addressing the media during a press conference at the party office on Sunday, he said, 'The event was conducted with the aim of entering the Guinness Book of Records, while Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Babu already holds a record for cheating people.' The YSRCP leader alleged that Mr. Naidu has been securing funds for Amaravati, while the North Andhra region is completely neglected and used merely for his publicity stunts. It was only during the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure that North Andhra saw real development, he stated. 'Yuvatha Poru' Mr. Amarnath also said that the YSRCP would organise protests in the name of 'Yuvatha Poru' on June 23 against the NDA government for failing to implement the promise of providing 20 lakh jobs and payment of unemployment stipend. The YSRCP will also submit representations at all the Collector offices as part of the protests, he said. He also alleged that the NDA government is resorting to diversion politics as it has failed to implement the poll promises, especially the creation of jobs and provision of ₹3,000 stipend to the unemployed, after it assumed office. He appealed to the people to make the 'Yuvatha Poru' protest a grand success.

YSRCP, CPM oppose Andhra government's power deal with Axis Energy

VIJAYAWADA: The YSRCP on Monday accused the coalition government of orchestrating a massive scam through its agreement with Axis Energy Venture Infra to purchase power at Rs 4.60 per unit. YSRCP spokesperson Gadikota Srikanth Reddy and former minister Gudivada Amarnath, in separate press conferences, claimed the deal imposes an undue financial burden on the public while benefiting a select few through alleged kickbacks. They contrasted the new deal with the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government's power procurement from SECI at Rs 2.49 per unit, stating the Rs 2.11 difference translates to an Rs 11,000 crore loss over time. The 25-year fixed-rate agreement, immune to market fluctuations, and alleged interference with the Regulatory Commission under Section 108, further reflect deep-rooted corruption, they said. YSRCP also noted that power sector dues ballooned from Rs 29,000 crore in 2014 to Rs 86,300 crore by 2019 under the TDP regime. In contrast, they said, the previous government slowed the growth to 7.2% CAGR despite the pandemic. They criticised the current government's decision, saying it contradicts Chief Minister Naidu's promise to lower power prices. Echoing the same, the CPM State unit has called for the cancellation of a power purchase agreement with Axis Energy Ventures, approved by APERC. They argue that the deal will burden citizens with Rs 15,000 crore over the next 25 years. The CPI(M) has urged public protests to demand the scrapping of the contract.

YSRCP alleges ₹11,000 crore scam in PPA with Axis Energy

YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath has alleged the coalition NDA government in the State has indulged in ₹11,000 crore scam by signing a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a private solar energy company for procuring power at ₹4.60 per unit. Addressing the media here on Monday, Mr. Amarnath said the government had forgotten its pre-election promise of not increasing the tariffs, but entered into a PPA for procuring power at ₹2.11 a unit more than the price at which it had been bought by the YSRCP government. He wondered why the TDP-friendly media, which had put out stories alleging that the YSRCP had indulged in corruption to the tune of ₹1 lakh crore through the PPA, was now silent on the issue. The YSRCP government had made the PPA with SECI, a public sector enterprise. At ₹2.49 a unit, the PPA was the lowest in the country, he claimed. But the TDP and its friendly media had raised a hue and cry that the YSRCP government indulged in massive corruption. He said the PPA made by the TDP government during 2014-19 to procure power at ₹6.90 a unit was much higher. Mr. Amarnath alleged that the agreement made by the TDP government with Axis Energy to procure 400 MW a year for the next 25 years would cause an additional burden of ₹210 crore on the exchequer. He said the people would have to bear the burden for the next 25 years. He also alleged that the AP Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) was forced to clear the agreement by taking advantage of the loopholes in law by bringing Section 108 into force. He said the YSRCP would launch agitations to create awareness among the public in this regard. Referring to the wall collapse at the Simhachalam temple, he said the contractor had clearly said he was forced to construct the wall in a hurry. This indicated the level of corruption in the government, he said.
