EastEnders confirms new role for George in Walford after Vic exit

A new era (Picture: BBC) With Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) now fully ensconced as the new landlady of The Queen Vic, it is the dawn of a new era in EastEnders – not least for the pub's former owners, the Carter/Knight clan. While it remains to be seen what the future holds for Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), a new role has been confirmed for George Knight (Colin Salmon). George has been at a loose end in the Square since he split from Elaine after she cheated on him earlier this year. Events later saw him move out of the boozer and demand that Elaine return the money he had invested in The Vic. The Slaters are now running the pub (Picture: BBC) George heads to Harry's Barn (Picture: BBC) With the pub now sold, George lands a new gig next week, courtesy of Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington). Fans of the BBC soap recently saw the pair lamenting over their disastrous love lives over a drink in Harry's Barn, and they are drawn back into each other's orbits in forthcoming scenes thanks to drama involving Nicola's son Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) and George's brother Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho). Harry has been crashing at co-worker Kojo's place with George, and unbeknown to him, Harry has been using the flat to stash drugs that Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) is forcing him to deal. To cover up his illicit business, Harry needs to find a way to distract George and keep him out of the flat and enlists Nicola's help. Nicola later offers George the job of Head of Security at Harry's Barn, clearly hoping the unsociable hours will keep him busy. All EastEnders spoilers for next week as unexpected attack rocks Walford

Next week's EastEnders promises drama, revelations, and emotional turmoil as secrets unravel and tensions rise across Albert Square. As Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) stages a grand return with unfinished business, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) confronts her brother Oscar's (Pierre Moullier) troubling behaviour. In the heat of the moment, he launches an attack on an unsuspecting resident. And it soon becomes clear he's targeted the wrong person! Plus, as the pressure mounts for Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway), he gets dragged deeper into Ravi Gulati's (Aaron Thiara) dangerous dealings. Here's a look at everything happening next week in Walford… Alfie is back in Walford after a secret trip to help Zoe, but Kat is furious when she finds out he lied about his whereabouts, thinking he had been supporting Cherry. Alfie reassures her it won't happen again. Meanwhile, Lauren is alarmed to learn that Mike showed up at the house threatening Oscar. She urges Oscar to get Jack involved for protection, but Oscar tries to handle things on his own. The situation escalates when Mike and his associate Harrison launch an attack, only for Jack to step in just in time. With Lauren warning him he's on thin ice, Oscar panics when he spots a hooded figure in the house and lashes out, not realising it's Peter. Peter, in turn, demands that Oscar leave. Over at Kojo's flat, Harry grows uneasy as George comes close to discovering a hidden stash. In the aftermath of the attack, Lauren urges Oscar to open up about what drove him to act out, uncovering deeper truths about his past in a youth offender's centre. Keen to help, Lauren clashes with a reluctant Peter and ends up attending Jimmy's support group alone. Meanwhile, Mike continues to cause trouble for Oscar. Avani heads off to an appointment, sparking Suki's curiosity. Determined to find out more, Suki questions Barney about where she's gone. Elsewhere, Ravi briefs Harry on his next illegal job. Kojo, unaware of what's going on, offers to tag along, but Harry and George quickly shut him down. Harry is pressured into letting Okie conduct criminal activity from Kojo's flat and scrambles to divert George's attention. He turns to Nicola for help creating a distraction. Meanwhile, Yolande begins to suspect that Patrick is gambling to finance her dream wedding. She gives him an ultimatum: no more betting. Patrick, however, isn't ready to give up just yet. Elsewhere, emotions run high for Stacey and her children as they commemorate Martin's birthday. Thursday 31st July: Patrick hits the jackpot at the races and convinces Howie to keep his win hidden from Yolande. More Trending Howie feels ashamed when Denzel reveals he had to ask Kim for money, prompting Howie to apply for a bouncer job at Harry's Barn to contribute financially. When Yolande finds out Patrick has been gambling again, she tells him the wedding is off if he places another bet. Looking for a workaround, Howie suggests placing bets on Patrick's behalf. Meanwhile, Nicola expresses concern that Harry is in over his head with dangerous people, but he refuses help. Later, she offers George the role of Head of Security at Harry's Barn, potentially changing the dynamic between them all. EastEnders fans 'fuming' as soap confirms another dramatic affair

It was a dramatic night in EastEnders tonight as the soap confirmed yet another shock affair - and fans think they know exactly when the secret will be revealed It's been a dramatic time for relationships on Albert Square, and tonight's episode of EastEnders confirmed yet another shock affair in Walford. During tonight's episode, fans saw Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) struggle with her husband Peter Beale (Thomas Law), who hasn't been helping out with newborn son Jimmy after finding out he was blind. Cindy and Kathy Beale then stepped in to help - which led to a shocking revelation from Peter. ‌ Asked why he won't even pick Jimmy up, Peter exclaimed: "I can't look at him because it makes me angry. And I can't look at you because it's your fault." Kathy then butted in to tell her grandson he was out of order, but Peter was having none of it. ‌ "Why? Because the doctor said that her being as high as a kite is unlikely to be the cause? Well do any of you think it helped?" "She was meant to be protecting our son. My son is blind and I've got to pretend that his mum has nothing to do with the fact he'll never see my face," Peter exclaimed before storming out. A distressed Lauren then went out to find a drink, although Linda refused to serve her in the Vic, as did Gina in Harry's Barn. Zack then took her home - where he revealed all about being Barney's dad. As Lauren stood up to comfort him, things took a turn when she planted a kiss on his cheek, which led to the lips. ‌ It's not the first time the pair have explored a connection. Zack cheated on Whitney with her best friend Lauren weeks before her wedding with the revelation causing Whitney to call off the wedding and leave Walford. Now, fans think history is set to repeat itself at Lauren and Peter's wedding, should the day still go ahead. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: "I don't condone cheating but in this instance you can't blame Lauren especially after the way Peter was with her tonight .He was so selfish and you can't speak to an addict in that way. "She has slept with Zack before so I saw that coming It'll come out at the wedding #EastEnders." ‌ Another responded: "Zack is on a roll with ruining weddings then," with another agreeing: "He really is!" Others were left fuming with the soap after putting Zack and Lauren together once again. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan questioned: "Why did we need lauren and zack again? #eastenders," as another wrote: "I cannot believe we are doing this again with Lauren and Zack. Like are we being serious right now??????????? #EastEnders". Will this just be a one time thing or will the connection between Lauren and Zack go even deeper?

EastEnders split confirmed for major couple as a family is torn apart

It's been a difficult time for EastEnders' Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) lately, but things are set to turn nasty between them next week when their relationship hits the rocks. The couple were devastated last month when doctors informed them that their baby son Jimmy had been born severely sight-impaired. Lauren initially blamed herself for Jimmy's diagnosis, believing it was caused by her painkiller addiction while she was pregnant, but gained a fresh perspective after some meaningful conversations with Stacey and Lily Slater (Lacey Turner and Lillia Turner). However, Peter's struggle to come to terms with the news is set to rip their family apart in forthcoming scenes. On Monday, an increasingly distant Peter dismisses Lauren's pleas to join her and local well-wishers in the Square, prompting his warring mum and gran Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) to put aside their feud to try and help the couple. But Lauren is left devastated when Peter later turns around and blames her for Jimmy's health. Peter's harsh words push recovering alcoholic Lauren to the brink of a relapse, and she heads to both The Vic and Harry's Barn for a drink but is refused service. After Peter finally bonds with his newborn son following Cindy's encouragement, he heads to the hospital without Lauren for an appointment about Jimmy, where he is warmed by an encounter with a fellow patient. However, Peter's positivity is quickly ruined when he returns home and discovers Lauren has almost relapsed. After a huge row, Peter breaks up with Lauren and hits her with the bombshell that he's going to fight for custody of their sons. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Desperate not to see her family further ripped apart, Kathy manages to persuade Peter to make amends with Lauren, and eventually the pair put aside their differences. More Trending But as it becomes clear Lauren is hiding something, a suspicious Peter heads to The Vic to ask solicitor Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) about custody advice. Unfortunately, Honey overhears and tells Lauren, who then heads to No.45 to officially end things with Peter… Is this the start of a bitter battle between them? And could this pave the way for the long-awaited return of Lauren's dad Max Branning (Jake Wood)?
