Tanushree Dutta says she is swamped with interviews after her emotional video, affecting her ‘low-key sadhana' lifestyle

Actor Tanushree Dutta, who has maintained a relatively low profile in recent years, is back in the spotlight after raising serious concerns about her safety. Following a series of distressing videos shared from her home, the Aashiq Banaya Aapne actor has now issued a note to the media, urging patience and understanding during this time. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Tanushree shared, 'I'm swamped with interviews and haven't been keeping well either. I've lived a slow, low-key sadhana lifestyle the last few years. I'm trying the best I can. Please bear with me. I'll talk to everyone slowly, slowly.' She added, 'Pooja was over by the time I was able to finish my interview and sit at the temple.' This message comes shortly after Tanushree Dutta spoke to News18, where she made startling claims about being under threat. Drawing a parallel to the tragic demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, she said, 'The Bollywood mafia gang is huge, and like Sushant, my life is also in danger. There is an attempt to kill me too.' Earlier this week, Tanushree posted a troubling video in which she appeared visibly shaken. 'Guys, I'm being harassed in my own home. I just called the cops. I got worried and called the police. They came and asked me to visit the police station to file a formal complaint. I'm probably going tomorrow or the day after. I'm not well. I've been harassed so much in the last 4-5 years that my health has deteriorated,' she said in the video. The actor also claimed that she is unable to hire maids as they are being planted at her house. I am being harassed in my own home: Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta breaks down in disturbing video

Tanushree Dutta, the first woman in India to publicly accuse a Bollywood actor of sexual harassment, has once again found herself at the center of a distressing situation. In a recent video posted on her Instagram has gone viral. Dutta, visibly shaken, pleads for help, claiming she has been facing constant harassment since 2018. The former Bollywood actor, known for sparking India's #MeToo movement, opened up about her ongoing struggles, revealing the toll it has taken on her mental and physical health. In the emotional video, she shared, 'I'm sick and tired of this harassment!! It's been going on since 2018,' and expressed her frustration by saying, 'Please someone help me. I was so fed up today that I finally called the local police.' She explained that she had contacted the police after loud, unexplained banging noises continued outside her apartment, something that has been happening for years. 'Since 2020, I've heard loud banging above my roof and outside my door at odd hours,' she added, revealing the impact it's had on her. Dutta opened up about the emotional toll the harassment has taken on her, noting that she now lives alone and struggles to trust anyone, not even domestic staff. 'I've had maids planted in my home. They've stolen from me. Now I do all the work myself. I'm sick, my house is a mess, I can't function,' she said. However, her struggle isn't a new one. In 2018, Dutta alleged that actor Nana Patekar had sexually harassed her. She alleged that Patekar made unwanted advances on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008 during a dance sequence. What followed, she claims, was a coordinated smear campaign to discredit her, including being labeled a 'tantrum queen.' Her bravery in this public stand helped ignite India's #MeToo movement, mirroring the impact of similar movements in Hollywood. In addition to Patekar, Dutta also came forward with allegations of mistreatment from filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri during the filming of Chocolate (2005). In an interview with journalist Faridoon Shahryar, Dutta revealed how Agnihotri would call her to the set on days when she wasn't shooting. She would spend entire days sitting idle, unable to even sit in her vanity. 'Take your clothes off and dance in front of him,' Agnihotri allegedly told her, referring to a scene she wasn't even initially a part of. Her latest video has garnered widespread attention and support from her followers while some have expressed grave concern for her mental wellbeing and echoed her calls for her justice. She says she will soon file a formal complaint at the police station and has hinted that there is more yet to be revealed. Despite the years of pain, Dutta's voice remains one of the most significant in the Indian #MeToo movement.

Mujhe mere he ghar mein pareshaan kiya ja raha hai,' she said, visibly distressed. 'I just called the cops and they have asked me to visit a police station and lodge a proper complaint. Aaj fed up hokar maine police ko call kiya... Please someone help me! Do something before it's too late.' The harassment, according to Dutta, includes much more than just emotional distress. She spoke of frequent and unexplained loud noises outside her flat and above her ceiling, which she claims have been happening almost daily since 2020. 'I have also dealt with loud noises like this and other very very loud banging noises above my roof and outside my door almost every day at odd hours since 2020! I got tired of complaining to the building management and gave up a few years ago,' she wrote in another post. The continuous stress, she revealed, has affected her physical and mental health. She says she now suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome. 'Today I was so unwell… Yesterday I posted and today this! Ab samajh jao sab log ki what I've been dealing with,' she said. Tanushree also pointed to what she called 'planted maids' and said she's been left doing all her housework by herself. 'I cannot even hire maids because they planted maids in my house… I had such bad experiences with maids, coming in and stealing and doing all kinds of things. I have to do all my work. People come outside my door and…' she said, before stopping short of naming anyone directly. In another moment, she said plainly, 'Meri tabiyat kharab ho gayi hai. Main kuch kaam nahi kar paa rahi hoon. Mera pura ghar messy ho chuka hai. I am being troubled in my own house. Please someone help me.'Dutta confirmed that she called the police out of desperation and was advised to visit the police station to lodge a formal complaint. She has indicated she will likely go in person soon to file an video has led to a strong response from her followers online. Some posted messages of support like 'Everything will be alright! Believe in yourself' and 'Don't worry, everything will be ok.'Tanushree Dutta made national headlines in 2018 when she accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the set of the 2009 film Horn Ok Pleassss. She said she had lodged a complaint with the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA) as early as 2008, but it led also accused director Vivek Agnihotri of asking her to "remove clothes and dance" alongside Irrfan Khan while filming Chocolate. Both Patekar and Agnihotri denied the claims. Nana Patekar was later given a clean chit in the matter, according to that, the case became one of the first major incidents to kick off India's #MeToo movement. Tanushree's decision to speak out back then was seen as pivotal. Tanushree has said she will share more information soon, including the details of her upcoming police complaint. For now, she remains at home, coping as best she can. She mentioned that listening to Hindu mantras on headphones helps her manage the anxiety. The situation remains fluid. But her posts have once again stirred public debate about how women who speak up are treated, and what happens when the spotlight fades but the fear stays.
