Tasha Ghouri issues fiery statement after public spat with ex Andrew Le Page
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page have put on a united front after their break-up threatened to get very messy indeed. The couple shockingly ended things at the start of this year, just weeks after the 26-year-old Tasha competed on Strictly Come Dancing with pro-partner Aljaž Škorjanec. The former couple met on the ITV reality series in 2022 and hit several relationship milestones together, including sharing a dog, purchasing a home and even discussing plans to marry as they looked towards the future together. Tasha finally opened up about their break up this week on BBC podcast How To Be In Love with Rylan Clarke, admitting Andrew was the first person she fell in love with, but that their relationship fell apart when he failed to provide her with emotional support during Strictly. She also said there was still a closure chat to be had between them. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. After the podcast episode was released, Andrew then took to social media with his own version of events. 'Wasn't gunna speak about it all,' he wrote on Snapchat, as per The Mail. 'However the girl can't keep my name out her mouth even though she's got a new boyfriend. The truth is… she went on Raya whilst we were still together… oops. 'No one is perfect in a relationship but you keep talking **** about me I'll start talking. She did one too many podcasts unfortunately. This is your closure chat.' Now, Tasha and Andrew have released statements in a united front after they were both on the receiving end of 'nasty' messages online. 'I just want to address recent hurtful comments about me & Andrew. We've always been open about who we are and what we went through, the hate and harsh words have been unfair and overwhelming for both of us,' Tasha wrote on her Instagram Story. 'No one deserves to be torn down, especially when they're already trying to heal. We've both made mistakes, we've both learned, and we've both grown. But the judgement and scrutiny we are facing from people online has been hard. 'Please remember that behind every nasty post, every comment, every story, there are real people with real emotions. Always be kind. 'I want us both to be happy and I wish him nothing but the best.' Meanwhile, Andrew wrote: 'Tasha and I want to address the noise around our breakup, as there's been hate going around that neither of us ever wanted. 'Things were said on both sides, but at the end of the day, no relationship is perfect, but ours still had some incredible moments I'll always be grateful for. 'I truly just want us both to move on and be happy. Wishing Tasha nothing but the best, and I'll always be proud of her.' On the podcast episode, Tasha also spoke fondly about Andrew – but pinpointed the moment she knew things were over. 'I learnt so much from him. He taught me so much about love and I will take that with me,' she said. 'Strictly happened and that made us grow apart even more when it should have brought us closer, because it is such an intense 13 weeks,' she continued. 'It's a bubble.' She claimed Le Page was struggling with what direction he wanted his career to go in, while she was living her dream of competing in Strictly. 'On social media, it did come across that he was supporting me, but emotionally at home, he wasn't,' she claimed. 'I remember this one time I was in the dance off in the semi-finals. I called him and said I feel really nervous. He was just sat there gaming.' Tasha identified that as the moment she knew it was likely over, saying: 'That's where I started to think I deserve better than that. Why am I settling for something I'm having to really beg for?' Speaking about the end of what was nearly a three-year relationship, she said her biggest regret was how she ended things, saying she 'should have been nicer'. She continued: 'It's weird, I feel like we never had that closing chapter. You know when you have that last chat and you have that closure? We didn't have that. And I feel like that's still kind of lingering.' Tasha shared her hopes they have 'that closure chat' in the future, adding: 'He was also my best friend at the time. He was my everything so I really hope one day when things are settled and we have time to grieve we have time to look back on stuff.' She concluded: 'I really do hope one day we can get back in touch and find that civilness that we had before.' At the time of their break-up, Andrew old fans it had been a 'pretty crap start to the year' and that it was the 'end of an era'. He also said he had 'cried more times this year than his whole life'. At the time Tasha had said she was not going to talk about the split publicly because it was a private matter, but she then opened up about the split in her 2025 memoir Your Superpower. 'I knew deep down it wasn't right,' she wrote. 'There were a lot of tears and it was a really hard time. Andrew was the man I was going to marry. We had discussed having children.' A source told The Sun in January that the pair reportedly grew distant during Tasha's time in the Strictly ballroom. More Trending 'Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly,' the insider said. 'She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaž and that drove a wedge between them as time went by.' Love Island continues on ITV2 and on ITVX. Love Island's Tasha and Andrew release statement after he slammed her in rant
Love Island's Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page shared their wish to 'move on' from their relationship after the latter took to social media to slam the Strictly Come Dancing favourite. He previously took to his Snapchat to write: "Wasn't gonna speak about it all. However, the girl can't keep my name out her mouth even thought she's got a new boyfriend. The truth is... She went on Raya while we were still together... Oops. No one is perfect in a relationship but you keep talking s**t about me, I'll start talking. She did one too many podcasts unfortunately. This is your closure chat." The couple met on Love Island in 2022 but went their separate ways in January, with Tasha recently admitting she regrets how she treated him after they 'grew apart' during her Strictly stint. Speaking to Rylan Clark on How To Be In Love, Tasha said their relationship struggled before her Strictly stint as she claimed he offered her 'no support' during her time on the show. "It got to a point where I was also trying to help him out, but he wasn't willing to help himself. And that's so hard because when you love someone, you want them to… you want the best for them," she admitted. "But there's a point where you're trying to also do the best for yourself and you're trying to grow. And then Strictly happened and then I think that made us grow apart. On social media… it did come across like he was there supporting me, but emotionally at home, he wasn't. "I remember this one time, I was in a dance -off in the semi-finals. And I called him, like, you know, 'I feel really nervous'. And he was just out there, gaming, didn't stop gaming, didn't put his console down, or take his headphones off and say, 'Okay, talk to me.'" She realised she 'deserved better than that' as she asked herself: "Why am I settling for something that I'm having to really beg for?'" Not long after, he took to Snapchat to share the furious rant, which he soon deleted. Tasha once opened up about her regret in joining Raya before her split was public. "I've already owned up to it, so yeah," before she was asked: "And admitted you thought it was a mistake in retrospect?" She then said: "Yeah. I'm happy being single at the moment." And now, the duo put on a united front as they hit out at the 'judgement and cruelty' from fans and trolls. Tasha said: "No one deserves to be torn down, especially when they're already trying to heal. We've both made mistakes, we've both learned, and we've both grown. But the judgement and cruelty we are facing from people online has been hard." The dancer went on to remind fans there are 'real people with real emotions' behind every social media comment. Meanwhile, Andrew addressed their back-and-forth, telling MailOnline: "Things were said on both sides, but at the end of the day, no relationship is perfect, but ours still had some incredible moments I'll always be grateful for. "I truly just want us both to move on and be happy. Wishing Tasha nothing but the best, and I'll always be proud of her."

Tasha - who split from Andrew in January - first met him on Love Island in 2022. I'm not sitting here being like, he's not. He's such a lovely person inside and out. "He has great attributes... but what I've learned in a relationship is when one person starts checking out, laziness can kill a relationship. 'I'm not saying laziness in terms of in yourself, laziness in terms of when you stop showing up for that person - that can really kill a relationship. 'I felt like it got to a point where I had to beg for affection, just simple things, like flowers or cards. 'For me, small things mean the biggest things and it got a point where I felt like I was generally having to draw it out of him, but I think he was also going through a hard time of finding what he wanted to do in his career. She went on: "I thought, I'm just not happy anymore and it's really sad because I had to break his heart... and then when I came out doing the tour, I remember for the week, I turned my phone off. "I was just so anxious, just being out and about socially, and I shut myself off from him. He didn't deserve that. I should have been there for him as well because when all this came out, he was like, what is going on? "I was also trying to come to terms in myself of what was happening as well. And that's my biggest regret... how I treated him in that breakup. I should have been so much nicer than I was." She added: "We're not on speaking terms and that's the saddest part. Speaking about her new boyfriend, she said: "We clicked straight away, he's very ambitious, he's driven… we've just been enjoying our company and just seeing what happens really." Strictly's Tasha Ghouri breaks silence on new romance as she addresses dating rumours
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Tasha Ghouri has finally broken her silence on dating speculation following her separation from Andrew Le Page. The pair first met in the Love Island villa in 2022 and made it all the way to the final, where they finished in fourth place. Their relationship continued to flourish after the reality series, as they soon moved in together and welcomed a pet dog into their lives. However, following Tasha's impressive journey to the Strictly final alongside Aljaž Škorjanec last December, news emerged that her romance with Andrew Le Page had come to an end earlier this year. Since then, there has been intense speculation as to exactly why the pair split, while supporters of the Strictly star have been curious about potential new romantic developments. (Image: Joseph Okpako, WireImagevia Getty Images) During a candid conversation with Rylan Clark on his How To Be In Love podcast, Tasha has now addressed the rumours, confirming she is currently in the "early dating stages." Whilst keeping her new romantic interest's identity under wraps, she revealed how their connection began, explaining to the former X Factor star that she first noticed him on TikTok: "I just DMed (direct messaged) him on Instagram. I was like, 'Hi.'" (Image: Dave Benett, Dave Benett/WireImagevia Getty Images) Elaborating on her motivation for making contact, she reflected: "I think at the time, I was like, life's too short." Earlier in the podcast, she recounted her initial attraction to the mystery man, noting: "I just remember thinking he's got a really cool job. Like, you know, he looks very—yeah. (There's) something just about him." In a separate chat with Heat magazine earlier this month, Tasha shared her aspirations for the future, stating: "I do want to get married and have kids — that's still my goal." (Image: Mike Marsland, Mike Marsland/WireImagevia Getty Images) Beyond her romantic pursuits, Tasha has enjoyed significant professional triumphs lately, notably becoming the second deaf contestant to grace Strictly Come Dancing, following Rose Ayling-Ellis's groundbreaking appearance in 2021. Competing against other celebrities such as Pete Wicks, JB Gill, and Sarah Hadland, Tasha danced her way to the final of the show, ultimately finishing as runner-up to comedian Chris McCausland and his dance partner Dianne Buswell.
