His teammate Carlos Rodriguez was just behind at the head of the chasing pack. And that group was being followed by an Ineos Grenadier car, with the team owned by Manchester United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe. However, disaster struck as an unfortunate fan got in the way. The spectator had stepped out in the road to film cyclists on a mobile phone. But they did not see the Ineos car coming close behind on their side of the pavement. The vehicle appeared to only spot the supporter at the last moment too. And the fan was hit by the Ineos car, sending them flying into the air. Viewers reacted instantly on social media to condemn the supporter though, with one saying: 'Give the riders room, please and thanks.' Another declared: 'Don't get on the road.' One noted: 'Frankly it's a miracle this doesn't happen more.' Another added: 'No sympathy.' RMC Sport's Tour de France analyst Jerome Coppel also commented on the incident. He said: 'It's always very complicated on these passes. There are people on both sides of the road which isn't very wide. 'The team directors have to get back up and ensure safety in case the leading rider gets a puncture. 'They try to get back up and the counter group won't let them pass. Having been in the car behind the peloton, it's really complicated when you have to move up the line.'

MoCI recalls models of Ineos Grenadier and Ford Explorer

Tribune News Network Doha The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with Aladiyat Automobiles, the authorised dealer of Ineos Grenadier, has announced the recall of the 2024 Ineos Grenadier due to a defect in which the door release button may become stuck when pressed, potentially impairing its function. Additionally, in collaboration with Almana Motors Company, Qatar's Ford dealership, the MoCI has recalled the 2020 Ford Explorer, as some affected vehicles may have improperly secured car seat anchors, increasing the risk of injury in the event of an accident. The Ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs. The Ministry said that it will coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out. The Ministry urges all customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, which processes complaints, inquiries, and suggestions through the following channels: Call Center: 16001; Email:

You can now officially buy the portal axled Ineos Grenadier, if you've got £150k lying around

You can now officially buy the portal axled Ineos Grenadier, if you've got £150k lying around Ineos teams up with LeTech to put its monstrous conversion kit into production after over 1,000 people expressed interest Skip 10 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. 1 / 10 Remember the Ineos Grenadier LeTech prototype we drove up a mountain in Iceland, and then again in a muddy field in the UK? Well, after over 1,000 people expressed their interest in buying one, it'll soon be officially available to order at your local Ineos showroom. Well, so long as you live in Germany, with the LeTech being offered to the rest of Europe thereafter. And so long as you have a spare €170,000 excluding VAT lying around for the Station Wagon version, or €171,000 excluding VAT for the giant Quartermaster pickup. Advertisement - Page continues below Yeah, it's not cheap. But you are getting a lot of off-road kit for the cash. These Grenadiers will start life at the Ineos factory in Hambach as muddy spec Trialmasters with front and rear locking diffs. They will then be taken to LeTech's facility near Stuttgart in Germany where they'll be fitted with 'a new heavy-duty five-link front and rear suspension layout, portal axles with wheel hubs offset from the main axle and larger 37in BFGoodrich Mud Terrain off-road tyres'. The 3.0-litre turbo straight-six from BMW remains unchanged no matter whether you spec the petrol or diesel option, but LeTech also adds 18in forged beadlock alloy wheels, new brakes, wider wheel arches and running boards, a front winch, a rear ladder, a roof rack and a lightbar with six LED spotlights. A tyre pressure control system and LED rear lamps are also options. Yes, give us all of the spotlights. The tiptoed Grenadiers also come with a full leather interior, heated front seats, safari windows and a 'premium sound system'. Orders will open later this month and Ineos has had 'numerous enquiries' from rescue services and aid agencies that operate in less-than-ideal driving conditions. They will be pleased to hear the modifications enhance ground clearance to 450mm (a 186mm improvement) and wading depth to 1,050mm (up from 800mm as standard). The new setup also provides much greater wheel travel and improved axle articulation, while the 3,500kg towing capacity remains. As does the standard car's five-year, unlimited mileage mechanical warranty, apparently. Very sensible. Anything else you should know? Ah yes, it's now officially called the Ineos Grenadier Trialmaster X LeTech, because every collaboration needs to include an 'X' these days. It costs £150k but it might be the most capable 4x4 you can buy off the peg

The Ineos Grenadier was already one of the most versatile and off-road focused cars on sale, but it just got even more capable thanks to off-road experts at Letech. The German firm famous for modifying the Mercedes G-Class has just added portal axles and other upgrades to both the Ineos Grenadier and the Quartermaster pick-up. Advertisement - Article continues below Orders for the Ineos Grendaier Trialmaster X Letech have opened in Europe with the Grenadier costing 170,000 euros (roughly £150,000) and the Quartermaster costing 1,000 euros more - excluding VAT. That marks a steep increase over the regular Grenadier Station Wagon and Quartermaster, which both kick off at £62,495 here in the UK. There's a good reason though because Letech has added all the necessary modifications you need to take the Ineos almost anywhere. The most significant change is indeed those portal axles - something we've seen previously on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4x4². Portal axles essentially elevate the ride height via gears in the wheel hub - Mercedes saw a gain of 110mm to the G-Class' ground clearance by employing the tech in the G 63 4x4². The Ineos gets a giant increase of 186mm to give a total of 450mm and it's not just ground clearance where it impresses because wading depth is up from 800mm to 1,050mm as well. Skip advert Advertisement - Article continues below Powering both vehicles are the same BMW-derived straight-six turbocharged petrol and diesel engines - meaning that the 3,500kg towing capacity is retained. The Station Wagon (the SUV style model) has a payload capacity of 540kg while the Quartermaster pick-up comes with a 642kg capacity. Letech's Grenadier and Quartermaster Trialmaster are also fitted with a new heavy-duty five-link front and rear suspension layout and 37-inch Mud Terrain off-road tyres from BFGoodrich. The 18-inch forged alloy wheels are also new, while Letech has added a high performance braking system, extended wheel arches, a front-mounted winch and a rear ladder attachment. There's also a jerry can, which might be just as well because we struggled to get over 20mpg in the Quartermaster recently. Making sure you can see where you're going off-road, Letech has added six old-school roof lights, plus there's a roof rack a spare wheel carrier and exclusive 'Trialmaster x Letech' Door Sill Scuff Plates and A-pillar badging to ensure no one mistakes it for a regular Ineos. The standard Ineos' five-year/unlimited mileage factory warranty is retained with Letech's additions being covered by a two-year warranty.
