Rajinikanth, Anirudh Ravichander dance win hearts in peppy song 'Chikitu' from 'Coolie'
New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): The makers of Rajinikanth much-awaited film 'Coolie' have released the song 'Chikitu' from the film, featuring the superstar's quirky dance moves. Rajinikanth's highly anticipated movie 'Coolie' is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, marking the first collaboration between the 'Leo' director and Rajinikanth. 'Chikitu', a lively street-style song, was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by T Rajhendherr, Anirudh Ravichander, and Arivu. This peppy song sets the tone for 'Coolie' which is full of Rajinkanth's trademark swag reflecting the superstar's legendary demeanor and charisma on the screen. In the music video, Anirudh is seen singing the song with a microphone in his hand, encircled by a group of background dancers who offer great additions to the overall vibe of the song. The song has a grassroots Tamil feel thanks to the participation of renowned choreographer Sandy Master, beat master T Rajhendherr, and lyricist-singer Arivu in the music video. In one of the scenes, Rajinikanth also appears as Coolie, stealing the show with his swaggy dance moves. Taking to their X handle, the Sun Pictures (Official production banner of the movie) shared the video of the song. In addition to Rajinikanth, the movie 'Coolie' also stars Upendra, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth also has 'Jailer 2' in his movie pipeline. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the makers officially announced the film's sequel with a special promo featuring director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. Nelson expressed his gratitude to Rajinikanth and announced the film on X with a caption that read, 'Immensely happy to announce my next film #Jailer2 with the one and only #Superstar #Thalaivar @rajinikanth sir and with my favourite @sunpictures #Kalanithimaran sir and my dearest loving friend @anirudhofficialand thanks to my team @KVijayKartik @Nirmalcuts @KiranDrk #pallavisingh #chethan @kabilanchelliah #suren (sic).' ‘Coolie': Anirudh Ravichander and T Rajendar amp up the fun in peppy number for Rajinikanth starrer
The makers of Coolie, starring Rajinikanth,released a 'Chikitu Music Video', featuring music composer Anirudh Ravichander and veteran actor-director T Rajendar. A glimpse of the catchy number was unveiled on Rajinikanth's birthday (December 12) last year. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is set to release on August 14, 2025. The promotional video shows T Rajendar and Anirudh grooving to the song and recreating the moves of Rajinikanth from the movie. With the dance steps choreographed by Sandy, the video is also an ode to the much-celebrated style of the superstar. 'Chikitu' is sung by Anirudh, T Rajendar and Arivu, who has also written the track. Anirudh has incorporated the viral tune of T Rajendar in 'Chikitu'. Produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, Coolie is touted to be an action drama. The movie is not part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's popular universe, the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Coolie will face off with the spy action drama War 2, starring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, at the box office. Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, and Upendra are the other prominent actors in the movie. Bollywood star Aamir Khan is set to play a cameo in the highly-anticipated pan-Indian film. Last month, the makers offered a glimpse of the characters from the movie through a short promotional video. Anirudh is the music composer for Jailer 2, which will also feature Kannada star Shivarajkumar in an important role.

Massive crowd lines up in Mysore to greet Rajinikanth as he shoots for Jailer 2; watch his reaction
Nelson Dilipkumar is shooting for his upcoming film Jailer 2 with Rajinikanth in Bilikere, Mysore. Fans who caught a whiff of the Tamil star's presence there lined up in huge numbers to catch a glimpse of him. Take a look at how Rajinikanth reacted to seeing them there. In a video doing the rounds online, Rajinikanth can be seen smiling widely and looking overwhelmed as he comes out of the sunroof of his car to greet the crowd. Numerous people can be seen calling out for him with their phones whipped out. As fans follow his car, he can even be seen gesturing to them to be careful. The video also shows the police and Rajinikanth's security trying to manage the crowd as a large convoy of vehicles with the film's team, including Rajinikanth, passes by. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film, which will hit screens next year. Apart from the confirmed cast, recently, there have been rumours that a Bollywood star will also feature in a cameo. Rajinikanth will also soon star in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, which will be released on August 14.
