Aamir Khan recalls being afraid after refusing underworld's invitation for Dubai party: ‘Chahe mujhe peetiye…'

During the 1990s, Bollywood was heavily influenced by the underworld, with several celebrities — including Shah Rukh Khan, Rakesh Roshan, and Karan Johar — having admitted to receiving threats. In a recent interview with Lallantop, Aamir Khan recalled being afraid after turning down an underworld invitation to a party. Aamir Khan recalls his interaction with underworld people. Aamir revealed that he never received threats from the underworld but was instead invited to a party in Dubai. He avoided naming Dawood Ibrahim and revealed that he declined the invitation and did not attend. He recalled how some people from the underworld came to meet him on set, urging him to come to the party, but he refused. He added, "They tried very hard, saying they'd pay me whatever I wanted, or help me with any work I needed done. I said I still wouldn't come. Then they changed their tone and said, 'Now you have to come because it has been announced there and it's become a matter of prestige.' That was the last meeting we had. I told them, 'You've been meeting me for over a month now and I've told you from the start that I won't come. I still won't come. Lekin aap bahut takatwar log hain, aap jis din chahe aa sakte hain, chahe mujhe peetiye ya sar pe maariye, haath pair bandh ke kahin bhi le jaaiye (But you are very powerful people. If you want, you can come anytime — beat me up, hit me on the head, tie me up and take me wherever you want). You can take me forcibly, but I will not willingly go.'" Aamir Khan says he was afraid He revealed that after this, the people never contacted him again. When asked if he was afraid, Aamir said, "Haan darr laga, mere do chhote bacche the, Ammi-Abba jaan bahut pareshan ho gaye the ki yeh bahut khatarnak log hain, aap kya kar rahe hain? Lekin maine unhe ek hi jawab diya tha ki main apni zindagi jaise jee raha hoon waise hi jeena chahta hoon aur main nahin jaa raha hoon wahan pe (Yes, I was afraid. I had two young children. My parents were very worried — they asked me why I was doing this when these are such dangerous people. But I gave them only one answer: 'I want to live my life on my own terms, the way I always have — and I'm not going there')." Aamir Khan's recent and upcoming films Aamir is currently enjoying the success of his recent release Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan Wants Audience To Support Unique Stories For This Reason

Aamir Khan said that the filmmakers focus on the genre audiences want to watch as he reflected on the importance of supporting "unique stories.' Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par opened to mostly positive reviews and decent box-office collections upon its release on June 20. The sports drama, directed by RS Prasanna, has struck a chord with the fans' hearts for its emotional plot and fresh narrative. As viewers continue to pour love for the movie, Aamir has opened up about the importance of supporting 'unique stories". He also emphasised the fact that filmmakers should not be restricted to only one type of genre. He stressed that they should explore more. Aamir Khan, in an interview with Pinkvilla, advocated the need to encourage unique storylines, saying, 'People love stories. All kinds of stories. If you only support action films, that's all filmmakers will make. And then you will have to watch only action movies in theatres. If you like all types of films and want to watch all types of films, go to the theatres. Your support gives creators the freedom to tell diverse stories." The actor added, 'Studios often command us to make a certain kind of film, and we have to follow. But when audiences back unique stories, it gives us the strength to create what's in our hearts." Apart from Aamir Khan, Sitaare Zameen Par also features Genelia D'Souza in a key role. Debutants Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar are also a part of the project. Sitaare Zameen Par is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma and produced by Aamir alongside Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka. Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan's critically acclaimed 2007 movie Taare Zameen Par, revolves around a basketball coach who is instructed to mentor a group of neurodivergent children as part of his community service. What starts as an impossible assignment turns into a life-changing experience for both him and the team. Genelia D'Souza plays Sunita, Aamir Khan's wife. Not long ago, during a brief interaction with the paparazzi, Aamir Khan expressed his joy over the success of Sitaare Zameen Par. He said, 'I am very happy and grateful. More than me, those ten 'sitaare' are excited as this is their film and it is a super hit. We are very grateful." Up next, Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo appearance in Rajinikanth's highly anticipated, Coolie. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, will be released on August 14.
