'..anything can change' Texas A&M still in the thick of 2026 4-star Edge's recuitment

Texas A&M's 2026 edge class is in great shape with commitments from four-stars Jordan Carter and Samu Moala, and five-star Tristian Givens, while five-star Anthony "Tank" Jones recently included the Aggies in his final three program list. However, four-star edge rusher KJ Ford out of Duncanville (TX) also placed A&M in his final three program list, but the competition is fierce ahead of his announcement on Thursday, July 10. Right now, Ford is favored to land with the Gators, but with six days remaining, it's anyone's game, as Ohio State and the Aggies are still in the thick of his recruitment. However, Elko and defensive line coaches Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie will need to pull out all the stops, which will include a strong NIL pitch, similar to Texas Tech's landing of five-star tackle Felix Ojo over Texas on Friday. According to AggieYell recruiting insider Landyn Rosow, Florida will remain the favorite, but in today's college football landscape, anything is possible. "Texas A&M has been making Ford a priority over the past few years, but over the past few months I've got the sense that these two parties are heading different directions, and the Gators have been trending behind scenes. My On3 RPM has reflected that. Now, there are still eight days until he makes his decision, and with how college football is, anything can change." Ford has been one of the most productive defenders in Texas over the past two seasons, racking up 57 tackles, seven sacks, 16 tackles for loss, and 15 hurries during his 2024 junior season. Staying with Rosow's assessment, 247Sports' Mike Roach still believes that Texas A&M and Ohio State could be significant factors in the final days, given each program's recruiting momentum this summer. According to 247Sports, Ford is currently positioned as the 98th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 11th-ranked edge, and the 16th-ranked prospect in Texas. Texas A&M commit and 2026 4-star WR invited to Rivals Five-Star event

Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is chock-full of talent at every position. Over the past week, two of the program's elite commits, four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter, have been invited to the annual Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, which now features the Aggies' top-ranked wide receiver commit. On Friday, it was revealed that 2024 four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory has become the newest A&M commit to be invited to the event of the summer, showcasing his elite talent. This is highly unsurprising, given his impressive play this summer during various camps, where he demonstrated his elite route-running and improved downfield speed. Advertisement Earlier this month, running back Jonathan Hatton and tight end Caleb Tafua, along with Gregory, shut down their recruitment and will sign with the program as soon as Early Signing Day on December 4. During his 2024 junior season at Douglas County HS, Gregory reeled in 53 receptions for 914 yards and nine touchdowns after recording 795 yards and eight touchdowns during the previous season. Gregory's ability to quickly separate in coverage and make plays after the catch is similar to former A&M wideout and current Oregon standout Evan Stewart. As soon as Gregory steps on campus, the Georgia native has a chance to climb up the 2026 depth chart as a third or fourth option during his freshman season. 2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit invited to Rivals Five-Star event

2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit invited to Rivals Five-Star event .@Jordanbcarter22 ✈️ RIVALS FIVE-STAR 4⭐️ Texas A&M commit Jordan Carter is officially LOCKED IN to join 100 of the best prospects in the country to compete in Indianapolis on June 23-24 🔥 — Rivals Camp Series (@RivalsCamp) June 13, 2025 Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class will be well-represented on the big stage later this month, as four-star quarterback commit Helaman Casuga and four-star Edge rusher Jordan Carter have been invited to compete in the annual Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 23-24. Casuga received his invitation on Thursday, while Carter announced that he will head to the Colts Stadium on Friday. This is an impressive feat for Coach Mike Elko and his staff, considering that both players are committed to the program, including Carter's announcement via TexAgs that he has likely shut down his recruitment after his official visit to Texas A&M last weekend. Rival Five-Star is a chance for the top 100 players in the 2026 cycle to compete at the highest level and showcase their elite skillsets to help solidify their standing as the best prospects at their respective positions. Casuga's 6,475 yards and 60 touchdowns during his first two high school seasons booked his ticket, while Carter's 62 tackles, 13 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss during his 2024 junior season are equally eye-popping. According to Rivals, Carter is currently positioned as the 146th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 13th-ranked defensive end, and the 19th-ranked prospect in Georgia. Standing at 6'4" and over 230 pounds, Carter's length and elite first step have made him one of the more feared pass rushers in Georgia, and should continue to rise in the recruiting rankings after his 2025 senior season. Knowing Texas A&M's success in developing defensive linemen, it's no surprise that Carter is excited to join the Aggie ranks. Elite 2026 4-star Edge sends message after his Texas A&M official visit

Elite 2026 4-star Edge sends message after his Texas A&M official visit One of Texas A&M's first 2026 commitments in the 2026 class has now made it known to the rest of the country that he is 100% locked in with the Aggies, as four-star defensive end Jordan Carter will reportedly shut down his recruitment during his recent interview with TexAgs recruiting analyst Jason Howell, who has been steadily tracking Carter's recent uptick in outside attention. Coach Mike Elko has continued to impress both the fan base and the Aggie media with his ability to recruit the state of Georgia, which began with the landing of 2026 four-star Aaron Gregory, followed by Jordan Carter in late October. After shutting down his recruitment last weekend, Gregory could end up being the program's highest-ranking commit by the end of the year. Carter's ascension as a pass rusher has led to Tennessee and Florida State making strong pushes over the last two months. While he took unofficial visits to both programs in late March and early April, Carter's official visit to Texas A&M last weekend sealed the deal for the standout versatile defender. "Aggie fans, I'm locked in, and I'm ready to work! Gig 'Em!" While he has yet to post on his social media (X) account, this essentially solidifies his standing as a "hard" commit, which will be finalized during the Early Signing Period on December 4. During his 2024 junior season with Douglas County HS, Carter recorded 62 tackles, 35 solo tackles, 13 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss. According to 247Sports, Carter is currently positioned as the 114th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 14th-ranked Edge, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
