Annual credit plan with Rs 21,262 cr released

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi released the annual credit plan for Eluru district for the financial year 2025-26 with an outlay of Rs 21,262 crore at the district level bankers' meeting at the Collectorate here on Tuesday. She said the annual credit plan for the year 2025-26 was Rs 3,000 crore more than the previous year. In the annual plan, Rs 18,243 crore was allocated for priority sectors. Out of this, Rs 8,396 crore was allocated for agricultural short-term loans, Rs 4,338 crore for agricultural term loans (agricultural allied sectors), Rs 1,111 crore for agricultural infrastructure, Rs 3,343 crore for micro, small and medium enterprises, and Rs 1,055 crore for other priority sectors. Last year, Rs 18,256 crore was allocated for other priority sectors. As against the target, Rs 21,816 crores, constituting 119 per cent of the target has been achieved. Bankers should work towards achieving 100 per cent of the targets set for the respective sectors. The Collector suggested that bankers should take the initiative in providing loans to tenant farmers in large quantities. PGRS at mandal, divisional and municipal levels today

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi said that with the aim of speeding up the resolution of public grievances and bringing it closer to the people, the state government is also conducting the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) services at the mandal, divisional and municipal levels on Monday. Similarly, at the district level, the PGRS programme is being conducted as usual from 10 am at the Collectorate's Godavari Conference Hall here. The government has now decentralised the complaints-receiving system that was previously implemented at the district level. Through this, people can submit their complaints directly to the nearest mandal offices, divisional offices, or municipal offices. Also, to file a complaint online from home, the official website provided by the government is: To know information about complaint registration, complaint status etc., people can call the toll-free number 1100 (double one double zero). The Collector said that due to this system, people's problems will be immediately reached by the concerned authorities and resolved in a timely manner. She urged the people to avail this opportunity and make full use of it.

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi said that the Supreme Court-appointed empowered committee will be visiting the district on Tuesday and Wednesday to examine the actual conditions in Kolleru. On Monday, as part of the inspection of the arrangements for the empowered committee's visit, she visited Tokalapalli in Nidamarru mandal, Manugunuru, Palaparru in Mandavalli mandal, Atapaka, Alapadu, and Kolletikota in Kaikaluru mandal. Along with her, Kaikaluru MLA Dr Kamineni Srinivasa Rao, Unguturu MLA Pathsamatla Dharmaraju and several officials participated. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Vetriselvi said that the committee will examine four related issues from a humanitarian perspective: how many residential areas are there in Kolleru, Jirayati lands, D Form patta lands, and how the 2006 Supreme Court orders have been implemented. In this regard, she said that a field visit was conducted on Monday to prepare a plan for the areas to be visited by the empowered committee on Tuesday and Wednesday. She said that after the two-day visit, the Eluru Collectorate will receive requests related to Kolleru on Wednesday.

Call to make Eluru a drug-free district

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi has called upon everyone to be a part of the goal to make Eluru a drug-free district. Along with district Superintendent of Police K Pratap Siva Kishore, she presented prizes to the winners of the two-day cricket competition organised as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan awareness programme at the Ashram Hospital playground on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, she appealed to the youth not to indulge in drugs which can ruin their bright future. If they are not addicted to drugs, they can reach a higher level in life. Awareness programmes are being conducted on the ill-effects of drug use as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Drug use leads to serious social, mental and physical problems. Keeping this in mind, the central and state governments are undertaking various programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to combat drug abuse. Information related to drug abuse can be reported to the toll-free numbers 1972 and 14446. Along with education, the youth should also give priority to sports. The Collector said that sports provide physical and mental development and also help in staying away from addictions like drugs. Superintendent of Police Pratap Siva Kishore said that everyone should be aware of the problem of drug use. Drug use leads to an increase in the crime rate and also has a detrimental effect on the society as a whole, and in view of this, a multi-faceted movement should be taken up to solve this problem. He said that the youth should especially focus on education instead of getting involved in drugs. He said that the 'Eagle' teams and the police department are jointly conducting various programmes and inspections to inform about the ill-effects of drugs and prevent their use. He said that everyone should have sportsmanship, through which they will gain self-confidence to solve any problem in life. On this occasion, collector Vetriselvi and SP Pratap Siva Kishore presented prizes to the players of the Police team that won first place, the Judicial team that won second place, and the Revenue team that won third place in the cricket competitions. District Revenue Officer V Visveswara Rao, DSDO B Srinivasa Rao, AD of the Department of Welfare of the Differently-abled and Elderly V Ram Kumar, and others participated.

Collector urges people to strive for TB-free society

Eluru: District Collector K Vetriselvi has called upon people to strive for a tuberculosis-free society. She unveiled awareness posters and pamphlets on tuberculosis eradication as part of the intensified TB Mukt Bharat campaign at the Collectorate here on Friday. Speaking on this occasion, she said that the Central and State governments are taking special steps to prevent tuberculosis. Under the TB Poshan Abhiyan, tests will be conducted for tuberculosis patients and medicines will be provided free of cost. Those with symptoms should get tested at the nearest health centres and take medicines. Under the Prime Minister's TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, anyone can adopt a TB patient and register as a Nikshay Mitra. For this, they can contact the Ni-Kshay Sampark helpline 1800-11-6666 toll-free. TB should be defeated not only through treatment but also through prevention. The Collector suggested officials strive for removing misconceptions about this disease and proper precautions should be taken. She said that in the current situation where technology has developed, the diagnosis of this disease has become easier. By identifying every case, this disease can be completely eradicated. Cough alone is not a sign of TB. If anyone experiences symptoms such as a sudden change in physical health, a cough with sputum, blood in the sputum, fever, chest pain, fatigue, nausea, or hives or swelling in any part of the body, they should contact the nearest health care provider, she said. DMHO Dr R Malini, DIO Dr Nageswara Rao and others participated in the programme.
