In an exclusive Masterclass with Pinkvilla, Aamir Khan not only talked about his latest release but also dropped updates on his upcoming ventures. Aamir Khan reveals Lahore 1947 is not an action film but… One of the most-awaited production ventures of Aamir Khan is Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol in the lead. Talking about the movie, Aamir Khan mentioned that Lahore 1947 is not an action film, but there is one great action sequence that Sunny Deol nailed like a true-blue action hero. The Ghajini actor said, 'Lahore has got Sunny Deol, who is an action star. Ek sequence action ka usme bahut kamaal hai, fantastic action he has done in that. But the film is not an action film. It's basically a drama.' When the actor was quizzed about its possible release date, Aamir mentioned, 'I don't know yet. Once this release gets over, I'll get into those films (his production ventures).' For the uninitiated, Lahore 1947 is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Apart from Sunny Deol, the movie also stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, and others. The movie is based on a play titled 'Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai', written by Ashgar Wajahat. Aamir Khan opens up on his upcoming production ventures Apart from Lahore 1947, Aamir Khan revealed his upcoming slate of releases, which he has produced under his banner- Lahore 1947, Pritam Pyaare, Ek Din, and Happy Patel. Elaborating on Pritam Pyaare, he said, 'Pritam Pyaare has got Sanjay Mishra and Neeraj (Sood). It's not a huge star cast or anything, but it's a wonderful story. I really like it.' Aamir concluded by mentioning Ek Din, which stars his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, and Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos, which is headlined by Vir Das. Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi meets J-K LG Manoj Sinha in Srinagar
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 25 (ANI): Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday here, a release said. The 'Khakee' director was accompanied by Shri Pradeep Sharma, Founder and Shri Rahul Nehra, Founder & Managing Director of Citara Group. The delegation discussed with the Lieutenant Governor about promotion of film-related activities in the Kashmir valley. The representatives of Citara Group also outlined their plans to set up a film city in Srinagar and to open a cinema hall and a film Museum in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, on the film front, in the coming months, Rajkumar Santoshi is all set to come up with 'Lahore 1947', which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. The shooting for Lahore 1947 was concluded in 2024 after an intensive 70-days schedule. For Lahore 1947, Aamir Khan has tepping into the role of producer, bringing his vision and expertise to the project through Aamir Khan Productions. Preity G Zinta, Veteran actor Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal are also a part of the film. (ANI)

Sunny Deol says he's nervous to play Hanuman in Ramayana; calls Ranbir Kapoor a ‘fine actor': ‘They'll do justice to the epic'
After the success of Gadar 2 and Jaat, Sunny Deol's upcoming films have fans even more excited. He will next be seen in Lahore 1947 and Ramayana. In a recent interaction, Sunny opened up about how Lahore 1947 was conceived and how Aamir Khan came on board as the film's producer. 'Aamir wanted to produce Lahore 1947' Speaking about Lahore 1947, Sunny Deol told Zoom that Aamir approached him to be part of the project. He said, 'This subject has been with Raj (Rajkumar Santoshi, director Lahore 1947) and me for many years. We had been trying to make a film on this for many years, but it wasn't happening. After Gadar 2, it became possible, and Aamir came to me straight away and told me that he would want to do this film, and I was very happy.' He added, 'Raj and I have given three films in the past that had intensity and depth of characters. So, that's what this subject has definitely. It is a play that has been adapted into a film and we will try and release it as soon as possible. We were waiting for Aamir's film to release.' Sunny Deol also spoke about playing the role of Hanuman in Ramayana and revealed that he will soon begin shooting for the film. He said, 'Definitely, I'm playing the role and it will be exciting and fun. I'm going to be shooting very shortly. I think it's going to be great and beautiful. As a matter of fact, after this, I'm going to go and watch a little bit of what they've done.' Sunny admitted that he is nervous about shooting for Ramayana. He said, 'Nervousness and fear are always there, but that's the beauty of it because you have to find within you how will you take up the challenge.' Sunny Deol also spoke about the scale, magnitude, and high budget of Ramayana, saying, 'I am sure the producers are doing a great job as they are going to bring out the supernatural things properly on the screen. I keep my fingers crossed and hope that they are nothing less than what Hollywood has. Ramayan has been made so many times, and when this film comes on the screen and the way all the actors are involved in it, I'm sure they'll do justice to the epic, and people will be satisfied and they will enjoy the film.' He also shared his experience working alongside Ranbir Kapoor and said, 'I think it's going to be great because he's such a fine actor. He always commits fully to any project he takes up.'
